Our first meetup will be to Mars Bar, located near Bugis. I've been before, the setting is great, staff are friendly and there's free live music every single night! We'll each pay for our own food and/or drink (let's support the venue by purchasing something), and get to enjoy what's likely to be some acoustic music that evening. It is pretty free and easy so if you might need to arrive late or leave early that's fine too. To join just RSVP and I'll help make the table reservation for the group. So the venue doesn't hold seats it doesn't need to, do let me know one day before if you're not able to make it anymore. I'm keeping the max group size a little smaller at 10 (including me) so it's easier to get tables and make conversation too. \*Bear with me as we figure out over time what days and times work well for folks, feel free to comment below too so I know. \- Diana

Join us for our Squash Sessions happening every Monday / Wednesday / Thursday 6pm to 8pm or 8pm to 10pm Suitable for beginners to the Squash Regulars. Each Session is $15 for pay per play. You can also enquire about being a member when you arrive. We use Meetup.com to advertise the session and our members use a private whatsapp group to register. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
