Climb & Chill đ§ââïžâïž
What's up Friends! đ
â©Ready for some bouldering fun? Boulder-what? đ€ Itâs climbing (FR: escalade, le bloc) up to 4.5m high without ropesâand in my case, without much hope! đâš
Itâs a super fun indoor activity, but be warned: it does require a certain level of physical fitness and/or skill. Most importantly, though, it requires awesome companyâwhich weâve got! đâš
The Idea:
đ Meeting Point: For those arriving at 13:00, weâll meet at the cafeteria (next to the billiards table).
Feel free to start earlier or laterâjust drop me a message or write in the group chat so we can meet up.
đȘ Stay & climb as long as you want - venue closes at midnight!
đ„€ Recharge: If youâve had enough climbing for the day (we usually do this after 2 hours of climbing), we may head back to the cafeteria (or to the rooftop if it's sunnyđ€ïž) for snacks, drinks & games. Cafeteria closes at 22:00.
Where:
đArkose: (Brussels Canal)

- reduced rates: students, minors, job seekers, firefighters, military (proof required)
đ Shoe Rental: 5⏠(if you donât have your own)
đ« 10-session pass: 150âŹâš
Good to Know:
âïž First-timers need to create an account (takes 5min) - do it in advance and pay online to pay less and avoid wasting time onsite
đŠ Hydration is key! Bring a water bottle.
đ Lockers available, but bring your own padlock.
đż Changing rooms & showers on-site.
đ Wear comfy sports clothesâit gets intense!
𧎠Only liquid magnesium is allowed (for grip) - in reality most people use powderđ€«
đ Thinking of going regularly? Bouldering shoes are a great investment! (Decathlon: ~45-65⏠per pair.)âšâšâ ïž Safety First!
Bouldering is fun, but safety comes first! Stay alert, know your limits, and donât take unnecessary risks. Enjoy responsibly! đȘ

NEW TIME-- 6 PM!! Deep Conversation-- Question Chosen in Session
Welcome to our weekly event in the upstairs room of The Sister Café, rue Chair et Pain 3, one block from the Grand Place. Please get there early enough to order your drink at the bar first. Thank you!
After introductions we will collect questions from the group participants, choose one by voting then discuss it for an hour. Then most of us stay for drinks and bizarre conversations.
Past questions have been wide and not confined to academic philosophy:
What is a genuine friend?
Is social media turning us into emotional zombies?
Do we lose some of the experience of things by defining them?
Are we driven by sex?
Is loneliness a personal failure?
Is morality relative?
**Crucially, be kind and respectful and generous** in your disagreements; remember how much you personally enjoy someone else proving you wrong before celebrating your cutting counterexamples.
đ Sunday Adventure: The Giant Masks & "Gilles" of Nivelles
Forget the tourist crowds of Bincheâthis Sunday, weâre heading to Nivelles to experience one of Belgiumâs oldest and most authentic folklore traditions!
Join us as the "City of the Aclots" wakes up to the sound of wooden clogs and brass bands for its 122nd Carnival. Weâll witness the "Cavalcade," see the world-famous Gilles in their towering ostrich-feather hats, and dodge (or catch!) flying oranges.
This is the perfect chance to tick off a major Belgian bucket-list item while meeting new people.
đ The Plan
* 12:00 â Meet & Greet: Weâll meet at Gare du Midi for Brunch together at the Time Off buffet then take the bus to Nivelles from there.
* 14:15 â The Grand Cavalcade: Weâll position ourselves to watch the parade depart from the station area. Expect colorful floats, giants, and plenty of music.
* 15:15 â The Procession of the Gilles: The main event! Over 700 Gilles and folkloric groups will march toward the Grand-Place.
* 16:30 â Tarte al Dâjote Tasting: Weâll head to a local bakery or tavern to try the legendary Tarte al Dâjote (a savory, cheesy chard tart). Itâs been a local tradition since 1218âand itâs "costaud" (strong)!
* 18:00 onwards: Drinks in the city center as the party continues.
đĄ What to Bring
* Old Clothes: Confetti is a given, and orange juice from "flying gifts" might happen. Wear something you don't mind getting a bit messy!
* Comfortable Shoes: Weâll be walking and standing on cobblestones.
* Cash: Some street stalls for food/drinks may not take cards.
đ Getting There
* By Bus (no train that day)
* By Car: Parking will be difficult in the center. Use the "Parking de délestage" (P+R) on the outskirts of the city and follow the carnival signs.
â ïž Important Etiquette
If a Gille throws an orange at you, it is a gift and a symbol of the coming spring. Do not throw it backâit is considered very disrespectful in Belgian culture! Just catch it, peel it, and enjoy.

**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, weâll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifactsâliving documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
Youâll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. Weâll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, weâll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isnât)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether youâre building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.
