Meet up, Warm up, and Get Moving to Get Fit :)
We will start the session with some light stretching exercises to warm us up, and help to prepare us for the run. The pace of the run will be steady, depending on who is running with us on the day.
Days when we have a large group we may break into multiple groups, each operating independently at their own pace.
Saturdays are good for intermediate runners, and is usually a 10km run, again at a steady pace.
If you're looking to get into running, come along on Tuesday or Thursday mornings and I will coach you, at your pace, to get you up to running (jogging) to 5km without stops. The only thing I will ask, if you're a beginner, is that you're able to walk for approx 30 minutes at a relaxed pace.
PLEASE NOTE: That, if you RSVP a particular event, then please ensure that you attend, as there may be other members relying on you for company on the run.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Any run or activity that you participate in with the group will be at your own risk.
Usually we have a post run (after our cool down) coffee in the Dash container at the Hole in the Wall pub.
Free Meditation & Yoga - Just show up - we start @ 7.30pm every Tuesday
Hello there!
Learn to Meditate in 2026 - Free 10 Week Ongoing Sahaja Yoga Meditation Course - hosted by Jayant, Violeta, Vivek, Seamus and friends every Tuesday - All Welcome - Join any Week -
The address:
Fringe Lab, Sycamore Building, Sycamore Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2, DO2 TD81 - on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm
With Sahaja Yoga Meditation, we usually sit on chairs to achieve yoga effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats or special clothing.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy is hiding in plain sight within us, and it's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable.
It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically, and cannot be paid for.
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple, time-honoured technique that lets you tap into that energy and harness its power to become better balanced and better connected to yourself — emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually.
If you're having trouble juggling the challenges in your life, Sahaja Yoga Meditation might help you manage stress, master your emotions and find solutions to your problems. You may enjoy better health, better focus, and a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it.
Meditation is not just for mystics and monks. Sahaja Yoga meditation is for everyone. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. But with the Sahaja Yoga experience, you'll quickly realise it isn't your typical Meditation. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Yoga Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your way. Our volunteer experts are always available to help.
Ready to plug into your inner energy? A few minutes of your life may be all it takes to connect to your inner energy and light the path to lifelong transformation. It's all about energy — guaranteed pure and carbon neutral, and you can never have too much of it.
All classes are free. No strings, no catch. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend.

Ultra-Marathon Events This Week
Discover what is happening in the next few days
Dublin Runners Saturday Morning Run 7km to 16 km
This event is for anyone seeking a social run with like minded people. It will consist of 2 loops. the first loop will be run at 6 20 - 6 30 per km pace and will be about 7 km in length. We will then join with the main Dublin Runners group at 9:00 am back at the Visitors Centre (VC), where a variety of pace options will be available.
Some of us are using this to prepare for spring half or full marathons. if this is your plan we may be an ideal group for you to consider and a few of us will be starting even earlier for a few extra kms.
This second loop will be approximately 10 km to 12 km. So you can choose to join at 8 15 am or 9 00 am. Please arrive 5 mins early as we are firm about start times. We usually finish with tea and cake in the cafe in the VC. If your pace is lower than 6 30 per km for about 8 km this run may not be for you.
If doing both loops could you sign in to both this one and the 9:00 one also please. If you have any questions contact Harry.
Mixed group run. 10K
Mix of paces in this group from 6:30 min per km to close to 5 min per km.
For those that want to do a longer distance, they will probably start earlier and link up with us for 9AM
If you are doing one of the earlier runs (Such as Harry's run), please sign up for this too.
Ideally we will run the trails if they are not too wet.
Meet near the bus stop at the visitors centre car park.
If you have any question, please get in touch. Appreciate if you can sign up as early as possible. If you have any suggestions for changes, let me know.
Thanks
Shane
3-4km Run and Beers
Well, only 11 more months until Christmas! - OK, I'm getting ahead of myself now, but already the year is moving forward, and I don't know about you guys, but time seems to have sped up in recent years, and before you know, the next Event is with us. Well, this week, The Event is a run to **The Hill in Ranelagh**, another old favourite over the years, so why not come along and enjoy the craic after a wee run.
For newcomers, our Group Runs are great fun, safe for all, and once the run is complete, we can share a beer, have a good chat, make new friends, and look forward to the following week. They are an excellent way to get you going in a New Year, and a certain way to meet new fellow runners - We all started somewhere, so come along and enjoy a run and fun.

Link to the tickets in the comments section.
Meeting time: 615pm
Meeting place: just inside the main entrance.
Start time: 630pm.
Thanks!
Alan.
"The late eighteenth-century ‘age of revolutions’ is widely regarded as a formative moment in the gendering of modern democratic politics—one that opened up debates on the ‘rights of women’ even as it reaffirmed the masculinity of the political citizen. In Ireland, this era witnessed the rise of the radical United Irish movement, unprecedented popular mobilisation, and the violent dénouement of the 1798 rebellion. Catriona Kennedy’s latest book Women, Politics and the Irish Public Sphere in the Age of Revolution (Oxford University Press, 2025) reconsiders what this revolutionary moment meant for women. Revising a stubborn tendency to present women as satellites of their male relatives’ ideological planets, it stresses instead their distinctive concerns, networks, and initiatives.
This lecture will introduce some of the women who feature in the book and explore how they negotiated the intense ideological conflicts of the 1790s. These include the formidable Elizabeth Rawdon, Countess of Moira, who in 1792 invited Theobald Wolfe Tone to dine and discuss politics with her; the democrat Martha McTier, who, while her brother served as President of the Dublin Society of United Irishmen, pursued her own female-led organising in Belfast; and the propertied Catholic women who, as their male counterparts moved increasingly toward republican revolution, were engaged in a devotional revolution of their own."
