Wednesday Acting Workshop - Blood Wedding
Wednesday Acting Workshop - Blood Wedding
Our acclaimed Wednesday workshop returns - we'll be looking at Lorca's classic drama exploring fate, passion, and societal expectations. A bride elopes with her former lover on her wedding day, triggering deadly consequences. Rich in poetic symbolism and folk traditions, the play confronts love’s destructive force and the inevitability of death and honor. We will be working towards A FULL PRODUCTION in April 2026.. If you'd like to get involved email: actinggymnasium [at] [gmail.com](http://gmail.com/)
Film Club: Of Mazes, Monsters, and Moral Choices (secret film)
Film Club: Of Mazes, Monsters, and Moral Choices (secret film)
**This month:** This fantasy adventure follows an unlikely group brought together by a plan gone wrong and a series of high-stakes decisions. As the story unfolds, characters must choose whom to trust, when to improvise, and how to deal with the consequences of past mistakes -often without knowing which option is “right.” While watching, we’ll track moments of choice under pressure: loyalty versus self-interest, intention versus outcome, and action versus hesitation. What makes a choice justified when all options carry risks? After the screening, we’ll explore these questions together. Also be ready for a surprise practical exercise, where philosophy shifts from analysis to lived experience! No prior philosophy required - just curiosity and a willingness to choose. **Can you guess the film? Or come and find out on the day!** Note that **the event will start at 6pm** due to a longer film. PFA Film Club hosts free screenings of thought-provoking films, followed by a discussion about the raised philosophical issues, for general public. In 2026 meetings are held every third WEDNESDAY of the month at the Cafe of St. Hilda's East Community Centre, 18 Club Row, London E2 7EY. The nearest station is **Shoreditch High Street** on the Overground. The screening starts at 6:30 pm (or at 6pm for longer films) and we need to vacate the building by 9:00pm. We offer complimentary light refreshments during the event. For the most up-to-date schedule of the upcoming film club events, visit our [website](http://pfalondon.org/#rec767601373).

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with me + The Missing Pieces
Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with me + The Missing Pieces
Meeting in the BFI Bar @ 17:30 for drinks and a quick chat. Part 1: Fire Walk with Me @ 18:10 This feature film follow-up to the 1990’s TV series dives headfirst into horror. Stylistically a fever-dream, featuring performances from Sheryl Lee, detailing the final days of Laura Palmer, and David Bowie also appears. I’m in L24. There’ll be a short intermission between the two screenings. Part 2: The Missing Pieces @ 21:00 Assembled twenty years after Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, deleted scenes and alternate taken from the feature film create a companion piece, which delves deeper into the FBI’s investigation into Laura Palmer’s fellow murder victim Teresa Banks. Not shown very often, so a must for Lynch completionists. I’m in L18. After the film: more than welcome to meet up again after the film to discuss. Tickets can be found [here](https://whatson.bfi.org.uk/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=david-lynch#southbank).

Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Our 40th Spiritual Creatives gathering - in person! Come and join us for a lovely walk and talk around Hampstead Heath. We are meeting just outside Hampstead Heath station (London Overground train) at 11.00 on Sunday the 25th of January. Please note: This is NOT Hampstead Station on the Northern Line! It is the Hampstead HEATH station. The Google link is here: [https://goo.gl/maps/AJCNoxkKNj6K9Gp77](https://goo.gl/maps/AJCNoxkKNj6K9Gp77) We will wait for people to arrive until 11.15am and then we will begin walking. If you arrive later, you will only be able to catch up with us at Kenwood House approximately between 12 and 12.30pm. You should be able to find us sitting around as a group having a drink. If the weather permits, you'll find us outside the main café, towards the back. Look for the guy with the multicoloured scarf... that's me! After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm. (Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. Also please bear in mind that Hampstead Heath can be muddy sometimes, so please wear the appropriate shoes). After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafés or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Some of our favourite spots are Dominique’s Café (dominiquescafe.co.uk) and Silverberries (silverberry.net), both of which offer a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. It’s a great way to wind down the walk and continue our conversations. Spiritual Creatives is a warm-hearted and popular meetup group, as you can see from our ratings and comments! We hope to meet you then! :-) Best wishes Cliff **Find out more about us at [https://www.spiritualarts.org.uk](https://www.spiritualarts.org.uk/).**
Second Annual Mafia Awards & Mafia Games For All Levels
Second Annual Mafia Awards & Mafia Games For All Levels
Welcome to UK Mafia! To mark 1,500+ Citizens and 2-year anniversary, we wish to invite you to our Second Annual UKMC Awards! This is a special celebration to appreciate your support and help in 2025! The event will take place on Sunday 25 January 2026 at Kings Arms near London Waterloo. Join us to play Mafia games and nominate your awards candidates! Please submit as many nominations as you can by 12 January for the following categories: **Fearless First** For speaking confidently/well as Player Number 1, as Citizen or Mafia. **Marvelous Mod** For volunteering to host games, allowing others to play, while creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for all. **Super Sportsmanship** For taking losses on the chin and kindly supporting other players. **Rising Rookie** For being an amazing new player (who joined us in the past year). **Absolute Addict** For attending the most events this year. **Fatal Fail** For failing epically, for an outlandish event during a game (e.g. accidentally said you are Mafia while being a civilian or turned the tides of a conversation the wrong way against your own team). **Virtual Veteran** For demonstrating sportsmanship and teamwork in online games. **There will also be an award for best formal attire that will be decided during the evening.** Let us know if you have other categories in mind that you wish to add! Our committee (EJ, Pheonix) will collect nominations, and announce the winners and runner-ups during the event. Feel free to send us as many nominations as you like. Looking forward to seeing you there! \*\*\* * ***💷 We kindly ask for a £10 donation to cover our expenses. You can pay at the door via Revolut, Cash, Bank Transfer or PayPal.*** \*\*\* 📍**Where?** **Kings Arms, 25 Roupell St, London SE1 8TB** **\- Second Floor \- Two Function Rooms** \*\*\* **🕵️‍♂️ What is Mafia?** Play the game that 'Traitors' is based upon! Mafia is a 10-player social game, competitive, easy to learn, and played at multiple tables. Each player gets a secret role and works with their team to win. Games last about 45 minutes, so we play many during the day. The **Mafia team** tries to hide and eliminate the **Citizens**, while the **Citizens** try to find the Mafia through deduction and logic. We always have first-time players and explain everything. No experience needed. While this is a beginner-friendly game, we also host tournaments and online events with players from around the world. We even organise trips abroad to meet and play with other Mafia clubs ✈️ \*\*\* **[How to Play?](https://bit.ly/HowToPlayMafia)** We will teach you how to play when you arrive. You will quickly see that the game has two phases: 🌙 **Night:** * The Mafia secretly targets a Citizen * The *Don* (Mafia) learns if a player is the *Sheriff* * The *Sheriff* (Citizen) learns if someone is Mafia ☀️ **Day:** * Each player says in their turn who they think the Mafia are * Then, everyone votes publicly to eliminate one player ## The game continues until the Mafia are eliminated or they outnumber (or equal) the Citizens. We will explain all the rules at the venue, and you’ll pick it up.Want to learn more about the game? See our wide range of resources, including brochures and videos: **[https://bit.ly/EMF-TIPS](https://bit.ly/EMF-TIPS)** ## **🌍 Why Mafia?** Mafia is a global game played by over 15,000 people in 50+ countries, with clubs, tournaments, websites, and federations, like the [English Mafia Federation](https://bit.ly/EML2025) and the [Mafia World Cup](https://www.youtube.com/@MafiaWorldCup/streams).
🔦🎬 RETURN TO SILENT HILL
🔦🎬 RETURN TO SILENT HILL
📻 **Entering that strange world again, the one that never lets you leave. It's like an altered state of mind or a waking nightmare.** **Hello guys** 👋 I’m not sure what January did to deserve being called the dumping ground for horror, but I beg to differ as this month is packed with legacy releases (although, more sequels!) that are well worth watching, including this one (fingers crossed). **Return to Silent Hill** marks the long-awaited continuation of the cult franchise, and after nearly 19 years, director **Christophe Gans** finally returns to helm the new sequel. The reception for the **Silent Hill Series** has always divided audiences, movie fans and gamers rarely see eye to eye, but that only adds to the fun and intrigue. For those catching up, the series currently includes the **[2006 original](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8q95d00fDQk)** and the **[2012 sequel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b4iOhWswYM)**. We will be meeting for our usual casual drinks at the **Victory House Wine Bar** to maybe talk about games and movies, and all that jazz. Then head over to **Vue Cinema (Screen 2)** for the screening. I’ll be in **seat A6**, but feel free to grab **any seat you like**. After the film, we’ll have a brief **[Letterboxd ](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)**scoring review. **Looking forward to seeing you guys and catching up!** **Jonny Dar)** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 👉 **HEADS UP** * If you ***sign up*** but later can’t make it, please 🙏 **just drop me a quick message** (or change your RSVP) — it really helps with planning.
