Women's Circle: Walk around Park Abbey
A women’s circle is a gathering of women, by women, and for women, to come together in a safe space and supportive environment without judgment.
We will share, listen, connect with our ourselves and our sisters. We might laugh, we might cry, we might share, we might just listen, but we come together with deep respect for one another’s journey, experience, and where we are at this moment in time to hold space for one another. To honor the sanctity and safety of the circle, we will create some guidelines for how we'll be together and what values we'll hold in our time together.
The women's circle invites you to be in your heart, for whatever may be needed in the moment.
This session will take us out into nature and enjoy a walk around the Park Abbery (Abdij van Park). After the walk there will be a possibility to get drinks together.
**Meeting Point**: In front of the restaurant (Brasserie) at the Abbey. https://maps.app.goo.gl/8Jo5TfRTXg9YeKui6
What to expect:
* 1.5-2 hrs hours of quality time for yourself, in the company of others.
* Please arrive between 5 minutes early so we can start on time
* We will enjoy a beautiful walk around the Park Abbey. This is an easy walk of about 4 km.
What to bring and to know:
* Please bring comfortable shoes for walking and check the weather before hand to dress accordingly.
* If you have signed up but cannot make it after all, please cancel here on MeetUp, so we know not to expect you and so you can make that place available for another woman who may want to join.
Climb & Chill 🧗♂️☕️
What's up Friends! 👋
Ready for some bouldering fun? Boulder-what? 🤔 It’s climbing (FR: escalade, le bloc) up to 4.5m high without ropes—and in my case, without much hope! 😂✨
It’s a super fun indoor activity, but be warned: it does require a certain level of physical fitness and/or skill. Most importantly, though, it requires awesome company—which we’ve got! 😎
The Idea:
📍 Meeting Point: For those arriving at 17:00, we’ll meet at the cafeteria (next to the billiards table).
Feel free to start earlier or later—just drop me a message or write in the group chat so we can meet up.
💪 Stay & climb as long as you want - venue closes at midnight!
🥤 Recharge: If you’ve had enough climbing for the day (we usually do this after 2 hours of climbing), we may head back to the cafeteria (or to the rooftop if it's sunny🌤️) for snacks, drinks & games. Cafeteria closes at 22:00.

Welcome to The Club.
**Welcome to The Club.**
A **curated** social community in Brussels for people who want real connections, memorable experiences, and **better energy than the usual random meetup chaos**.
Most of our events happen in **private homes**, gardens, hidden places around Brussels, or unusual locations outside the city. The goal is simple: create the kind of atmosphere where people actually talk, laugh, connect, and want to come back.
We organize things like:
• gourmet lunches & dinners
• picnics & roadtrips
• cooking nights
• walks around Brussels
• karaoke & movie nights
• debates & discussions
• card and social games
• occasional “chaperoned” social evenings where people can meet naturally in a safe environment
The difference is that we personally curate and vet new members.
The host actively introduces newcomers, helps people integrate into the group, and keeps the atmosphere respectful and relaxed. We have zero tolerance for creepy behavior, unwanted pressure, spam, random uninvited people, or drama.
*Unfortunately, posting too many details publicly on Meetup or on the internet in general quickly attracts bots, scammers, fake profiles, crypto weirdos, and people who completely ruin the vibe for everyone else.*
That’s why most of our real coordination happens privately through our ***vetted WhatsApp community***.
To join, simply scan the QR code in the image.
If you are on your phone and cannot scan it directly:
• take a screenshot of the image
• open the screenshot in your photo gallery
• most phones can automatically detect QR codes from photos by long pressing or using Google Lens / iPhone scan feature
Then request access to the group and introduce yourself briefly.
See you soon

From Pepinster to Trooz (ca 24 km)
Again a difficult train weekend, but the line to Eupen remains open, so let's go to the always lovely Vesdre valley. We start in Pepinster and start out along the slopes of the River Hoegne gradually climbing up on the plateau. After passing the well-know pilgrimage place of Banneux, we will do several descends into the Vesdre valley, just to climb out of it again on the next occasion ;-) We need the hike in the friendly village bar in Trooz for the final drink.
The number of participants is limited to 20, so please manage your registration responsibly: only sign up if you really intend to come and cancel as soon as you know you can’t (this also goes for people on the waiting list!).
We will try to keep somewhere close to an average speed of 4.5 to 5 km/h. We will walk both on paved and unpaved roads. I’ve not tested this track beforehand, so it’s possible that there are some mistakes in the planning (i.e. it may become longer ;-).
●●You can find the gpx track here:

●●Meeting point:
We meet at 8.45 in Bruxelles Central train station. Our train (IC 507 to Eupen) leaves from platform 3 at 9.01. We change in Liege and arrive in Pepinster at 10.46.
●● Train ticket:
BXL Pepinster 14.90€ (9.00€ with train+), Trooz-BXL 14.40€ (8.60€ with train+)
●● Trains back to Brussels:
One per hour via Liege, XX.24/XX.26 on even and odd hours respectively.
●● Specifics:
Distance: \~ 24 km
Elevation gain: around 600 m
Net walking time: ca 6h
Weather forecast: undecided (that's literally what the National Meteorological Institute says).
In the unlikely case of too bad weather, I may cancel a hike, even few hours before the event. If this must happen, I will of course update the Meetup website and send out an email to those registered. So it is important to have access to either the Meetup.com website and/or your emails.
●● What to bring:
* Comfortable hiking clothes
* Waterproof, comfortable hiking shoes
* sufficient water + food for the breaks
* Compeed for blisters
* Small change for the drink (cafes in the countryside do not necessarily take cards!)
●● Basic rules:
Please RSVP only if you really intend to come. And if your plans change, update your RSVP asap, even hours before the walk. This is basic courtesy towards others. Repeated late cancellations are not well considered (at all). No-shows are even worse.
Do not show up for a hike unless you are on the “going” list.
●● Acknowledgement of member responsibility and release of liability:
You are responsible for yourself and should be fit enough if you want to take part. As the participation in the events is strictly voluntary and you freely choose to join, it is the responsibility of individuals participating to ensure that they are fit enough and have adequate coverage to protect themselves. Middelheim museum + Nachtegalenpark + Den Brandt - 6.5 km
Dear beautiful people,
####This is my favorite and last minute hiking plan to avoid our comfort zones 💪
This walk takes us through some park, I’ve made it a bit longer by including Den Brandt, a lovely park nearby.
A quick heads-up: there aren’t many parking spots next to the starting point, but you’ll find a few parking lots in the area. Public transport is also a good option - trams 7 and 15 stop about 900 m away, and several buses stop close to the entrance.
see you all Sunday

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!).
**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.
*For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)*
**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**FAQ**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**LOGISTICS**
* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
* Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details.
* If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋
