Moderate 5.6miles/ 9km, Ascent - 559ft/ 170.4m circular A walk to Shoreham cross. (Just under 1 mile from start point) Then a walk to Twitton where there will be a pub stop for drinks only. (3 miles from start point) Walk then continues onto Otford village (Just over 4 miles from start point) then a walk back to Shoreham. Optional pub stop at the end of the walk. One big uphill climb with a slower downhill walk before pub stop. Walk relatively flat after pub stop. Subject to walk leaders approval we do allow well behaved dogs under full control of their owner. Walk length 2 miles/3 km approx. Linear. A really varied urban walk exploring some of London's hidden secrets from scandals to old burial grounds and the location of one of the world's most famous fictional detective characters. A guided walk, pointing out these and other historical sights. We will visit a wonderful grandiose pub at the end with many original features. It was used as offices for the Metropolitan Railway the world’s first underground line that still runs through Baker Street Station. The walk is FREE tonight, the host is a qualified London guide. This scenic route takes us along navigation paths toward Cheshunt Lake, through peaceful woodlands, and past marshes and shimmering lakes. The easy, flat terrain with just 30m of elevation makes this a gentle walk and a perfect way to spend the morning. Continuing along the **Thames Estuary Path**, we journey toward **Two Tree Island**, a 634-acre nature reserve surrounded by saltmarsh and tidal mudflats. This peaceful island is crucial for various bird species, providing winter refuge for migratory birds. It is a haven for birdlife, including avocets, brent geese, and Mediterranean gulls.
