Archetypal Coaching: Synergies through Astrology and Dream Work -Alba Carod
Archetypal Coaching offers a transformative approach to personal growth, blending ancient Greek astrological foundations and dream work with modern coaching techniques, somatic awareness, and Jungian active imagination.
Astrological archetypes illuminate the roots of struggles and highlight potential resources, while dreams act as a focused lens, bringing attention to issues that require immediate exploration. The approach explored within this book emphasizes interactive dialogue with archetypes and symbols, using embodied imagination and somatic awareness to guide clients in creating a personal symbol that embodies their inner process and potential, echoing Jung’s concept of the transcendent function.
Supported by six in-depth case studies and numerous examples, the author outlines a holistic framework for integrating astrology and dream work into coaching, emphasizing personal growth and treating archetypes as dynamic tools for creativity and self-discovery.
This book will appeal to established coaches, counsellors, and therapists interested in integrating archetypal work into their practice, as well as students of Jungian psychology, coaching, art therapy, astrology, and related fields.
Cinema—Through the Olive Trees
Salam, Dustan!
‘Kiarostami takes meta-narrative gamesmanship to masterful new heights in the final instalment of his celebrated Koker trilogy. Unfolding behind the scenes of the shooting of the previous film in the series, *[And Life Goes On](https://www.closeupfilmcentre.com/search_results/keyword/and+life+goes+on)…*, [Through the Olive Trees ](https://www.closeupfilmcentre.com/search_results/keyword/through+the+olive+trees) traces the complications that arise when the romantic misfortune of one of the actors—a lovelorn young man who pines for the woman cast as his wife even though, in real life, she will have nothing to do with him—creates turmoil on set and leaves the hapless director caught in the middle. An ineffably lovely, gentle human comedy steeped in the folkways of Iranian village life, this Pirandellian pastoral peels away layer after layer of artifice as it investigates the elusive, alchemical relationship between cinema and reality.’ – Janus Films
We’ll meet at 8pm before the film starts and after the screening for a chat and drinks at the cinema. Reservation link for the 8.15pm screening:

Free Terrible Football @ Regents Park Sunday at 10:30am
Hey Terrible Footballers!

Everyone is welcome! That means every skill level, gender, sexuality etc. Just gotta be over 18!
No one gets upset if we miss a pass.... or the ball altogether! Skills vary from old semi-pro players all the way to never kicked a ball. We weren’t fibbing when we said inclusive.
Please bring a BLACK and WHITE tshirt. Please aim to arrive at 10:15 (ideally 10:15am to help out in the setting up) as we want to kickoff at 10:30.
(If you arrive late after kick off, you may have to wait around half hour for the next half).

Follow this link to join us on whatsapp:
https://chat.whatsapp.com/HLps3JK0kSmHR2vuJj1VDu
The game will normally go ahead come rain or shine if we have the numbers.
Some important information:
• Age 18+
• Terrible Football meet-ups are extremely popular but unfortunately we have limited spaces. If you end up on the waiting list, please wait and see if a spot becomes available. We will have to check who has RSVP-ed if too many show up and will have to turn people away if they’re not on the list.
• Please show up on time! If you have RSVP-ed but don’t show up on time, we will have to give your spot to someone else! If you show up after we have started playing, and no one else has taken your spot, you might still be asked to sit the first half out in order to prevent confusion. There is nothing worse for organisers than people showing up late!
• As mentioned above, we don’t charge, however, if you are a regular, we do ask you to donate some money once or twice a year for the upkeep and new equipment.
For any questions, please contact one of the organisers.
See you there! TFC Team
The Need for Roots by Simone Weil - Little Venice Philosophy Walk
For this walk we'll be talking about Simone Weil's book **The Need for Roots** and walking around the beautiful Little Venice area and along Regent's Canal.
*"What do humans require to be truly nourished? Simone Weil, one of the foremost philosophers of the last century, envisaged us all as being bound by unconditional, eternal obligations towards every other human being. In The Need for Roots, her most famous work, she argued that our greatest need was to be rooted: in a community, a place, a shared past and collective future hopes."* (back cover notes from The Need for Roots)
You don't have to read the book to attend but if you do then you'll get more out of the walk:
**The Need for Roots**

Workshop: Mind Best Friend or Worst Enemy?
***This is a paid workshop and tickets are available [here](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/workshop-mind-best-friend-or-worst-enemy-tickets-1979808410250?aff=oddtdtcreator&_gl=1%2Ajpshm5%2A_up%2AMQ..%2A_ga%2AMTY5NjIxOTc5My4xNzY4MjIzNjMw%2A_ga_TQVES5V6SH%2AczE3NjgyMjM2MzAkbzEkZzEkdDE3NjgyMjM2NTckajMzJGwwJGgw)***
Life can be very difficult, and many people see themselves as victims of random and unfortunate circumstances. However, we do play a role in what happens to us and few realize the importance of our mind in this process. It not only colours our experiences of life, it even causes them. Knowing how our mind works allows us to take responsibility for our life and to become creators rather than remain victims.
The mind is also a very important key to building a sustainable future. Many of the problems we are facing today as humanity are caused by our own actions. In order to change the way we act, we literally need to ‘change our mind’. As Albert Einstein said: *“The world we have created is a product of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”*
This workshop will explore the mind and mind-related topics such as consciousness, imagination, creativity and meditation. It will also look at collective mindsets and paradigm shifts throughout history. Sabine Leitner is the director of the New Acropolis School of Philosophy in London and has a background in classical music, philosophy and psychology.
Free Talk: Matters of Pleasure
**What is Pleasure and Why it matters**?
**[Coffee Matters](https://coffeematterslondon.com/ "https://coffeematterslondon.com/") and [Tara Yoga Centre](https://tarayogacentre.co.uk/ "https://tarayogacentre.co.uk/")** share the same passions – *bringing people together and savouring the simple pleasures of life.*
Exactly. What is pleasure? Can it be found on the bottom of a nice cup of tea or a sweet cake? Or is **pleasure an essential part of being alive quietly shaping our state of happiness, connection, and meaning**? Yet, across many spiritual and cultural traditions, it has often been viewed with suspicion, restraint, danger and prohibition.
This misconception exists for a reason. **Pleasure can be a double-edged sword**: it can distract us, pull us into excess, or make us chase short-term gratification. But it can also be a powerful and beneficial ally — a way to soften our body, open our senses, and relax us into a deeper awareness that reaches beyond our usual habits and limitations.
In this talk, **we’ll explore the art of pleasure with curiosity and freedom**. Together, we’ll contemplate our **personal relationship with pleasure**, examine some of the beliefs we’ve inherited, and consider how pleasure can be **cultivated and enjoyed** rather than avoided and indulged unconsciously.
Through discussion and reflection, we’ll explore simple ways of inviting more pleasure into everyday life — not as an escape, but as a meaningful practice that supports balance, living in a present moment, and a feeling of fulfilment.
Join us over a cup of tea, cake or a delicious brunch, in vibrant heart of Shoreditch on **Saturday 24th January at 1pm**, for a relaxed talk that will dive into an important topic in life that **really matters**.

A Changed Mind, Columbus, Ohio
Always an overachiever, David Bayer didn't settle for being Number Two in just about anything. Whether a runaway entrepreneurial success as a teenager, the leading online director for Ducati with over $70 million in sales, or as an early mid-life crisis overachiever with at least three wildly self-destructive behavioral addictions, whatever David did, he did it wholeheartedly.
Not surprisingly then, when it came to facing his failures and determining his next course of action, David sought health and healing with the same full-strength effort he had previously used to bring about his own ruination. Seeking to learn from the best of the best, David's pursuit of tangible, practical, actual change from the mind and emotions, outward, brought a new passion--that of encouraging others to learn from his mistakes and to be able to strive after and achieve healing and success in their own lives.
We are reading *A Changed Mind*, by David Bayer, and can't wait to enjoy the group discussion on **Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 6:30 pm**, at True Food Kitchen 4052 Worth Ave, Columbus, OH 43219. Come join us!

Dale Gnidovec, Curator of the Orton Hall Museum of Geology at The Ohio State University, will be presenting a program he has wanted to share with us for a long time: Plate Tectonics. His description of his program:
Continents on the move - Nothing in Earth history makes sense without moving continents - it tells us why mountains, volcanoes, minerals, and fossils are where they are. This talk examines the evidence for continental drift, why it was disbelieved, and explains how the more-encompassing theory of plate tectonics was developed and eventually proven. Dale is an energetic, incredibly knowledgeable, and very entertaining speaker and this will be another wonderful program by Dale. Hope to see you there!
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

Valentine's Weekend: WUTHERING HEIGHTS at the Drexel Theatre!
Join us as we get together to see the steamy-romance-period-drama, WUTHERING HEIGHTS. Director Emerald Fennell gives us her take on the romance between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw from the classic Emily Bronte novel. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:
DESCRIPTION: The film tells a passionate and tumultuous love story set against the backdrop of the Yorkshire moors, exploring the intense and destructive relationship between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. The film is directed by Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman, Saltburn) and is loosely based on the classic novel by Emily Bronte. It stars Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi, Alison Oliver, Owen Cooper and Hong Chau!
TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fLCdIYShEQ
PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing and will meet inside the lobby area about 30 minutes before the show begins. Advance ticket purchase not required for this theater but early arrival is advised! Be sure to mention you’re with the Movie Group for admission and concession discounts! And, after the movie, don’t miss the best part of the night – food and drinks at the nearby Rusty Bucket! Complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
