Burgundy is the most famous, most terroir-specific, and most expensive wine region in the world for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Top wines can cost hundreds of pounds a bottle, but for ordinary wine lovers without a hedge fund to lean on there are sources of delicious, quality wines to be found. 'Affordable' Burgundy does exist! The tasting will start off with 2 bottles of Cremant de Bourgogne, sparkling wine made in the traditional method, Then we'll taste 4 whites and 4 reds from all the main sub-regions of Burgundy - Chablis, Cote D'or, Cote Chalonaise and Macon. Ha Hyde Park Grade I listed, it is the largest of the Royal Parks. The park was established by Henry VIII in 1536 when he took the land from Westminster Abbey and used it as a hunting ground. It opened to the public in 1637 and quickly became popular, particularly for May Day parades. The park's name comes from the Manor of Hyde and appears as such in the Domesday Book. The name is believed to be of Saxon origin and means a unit of land, the hide. Hyde Park was a popular duelling spot during the 18th century, with 172 taking place, leading to 63 fatalities. The Serpentine a 40-acre created in 1730 at the behest of Queen Caroline. Originally fed by the River Westbourne and Tyburn Brook in the 1730s, the lake's water was then pumped from the Thames in the 1830s. Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fountain The design aims to reflect Diana's life, water flows as it cascades, swirls and bubbles before meeting in a calm pool at the bottom. The water is constantly being refreshed and is drawn from London's water table. The Memorial also symbolises Diana's quality and openness. For the month of March, we will visit a new winery to me...Three Creeks Winery. Weather permitting, we will be sitting outside, but we will play that by ear. The wines are paired with seasonal paella and passed tapas. Each time we host, we dive into a different theme. This time, we’re uncorking terroir. Terroir is a French term that refers to the natural environment in which a wine is made. This includes everything– but most often focuses on soil, topography and climate, ultimately producing a bottled sense of place. Our 400+ bottle program deeply focuses on terroir, becoming a collection of places that can be experienced through a pour. For this UNCORKED, we’re opening 30 wines that we think are some of the clearest expressions of place out there. We can’t wait to share these truly transportive bottles with you.

We will be hiking the loop trail, (counter clockwise) around the BeaverDam Reservoir starting at the brand new Reservoir Park VisitorsCenter. Beautiful views of the water and varied woodland areas. This is an 7.5 Mile loop hike around one of Northern Virginia's largest bodies of water. The loop is mainly flat with a tiny hill or two. I've rated the loop moderate because the distance is 7.5 miles. Every year we host a tasting to try German wines from the new vintage, with a focus on Riesling. Our host is Phil Bernstein, General Manager of MacArthur Beverages, one of the leading retailers of German Riesling in the country. Every year, Phil brings some of the best wines of the vintage. The new vintage is 2024, another in an increasing string of very good vintages, though regrettably the first to be carrying the increase in wine tariffs. Mosel Fine Wines says that “2024 is a must-go-to vintage for lovers of classic and ethereal Mosel lightness and elegance!” Vinous Media found that the German wines of 2024 are “sprightly, sleek, concentrated Rieslings with exquisite verve and full aromatic development.” Here is your chance to try the 2024s from some of the very best producers! **DATE**: **Friday, March 27th, 2026.** Doors open at 6:30 pm; tasting begins at 7:00 pm.
