Nordic Walking Brockwell Park
Ready to get outside? Our Friday morning Nordic Walk in Brockwell Park is back!
At this moment we can meet with up to 30 people (of more than two households) to do outdoor exercise and walks. However, i like to keep our exercise groups small, so I have set the maximum participants at 12.
For now this walk is for our experienced Nordic Walkers only, who already used to Nordic Walk with us regularly before Covid 19 kept us indoors, and who have their own Nordic Walking poles.
As this session is outdoors, we will not ask you to wear a face mask, but we do ask you to keep 2 meters apart. Some of our walkers might be immune compromised or more at risk, so please help us keep everyone safe!
Please do not come to the session and stay at home if:
- you know you have been in contact - in the last 2 weeks- with someone with symptoms of possible Covid, or if you have been in contact with someone who tested positive.
- you have any of the following symptoms: (new) Loss of smell/taste, Persistent cough, Fatigue, Loss of appetite, Skin rash, Hives, Fever, Severe muscle pain, Shortness of breath, Diarrhoea, Delirium, Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Hoarse voice, Eye soreness, Sore or painful throat, Nausea or vomiting, Headache, Dizziness or light headedness
We meet by the Blackbird bakery in Herne Hill, between the station and the park.
Session Price: £10 per session, £89 for a 10-session card or £70 unlimited sessions per month. Session cards and Pay Monthly can be used in any of our outdoor walks or indoor Zoom classes sessions (except for the Parkinson's sessions).
Pay What Works:
The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us.
In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes.
Then send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”- followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off.
Please do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly.
I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could pay in cash. No cheques please, the queues by the banks are just too long.
We walk in all safe weather conditions – if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!
Waterloo to London Bridge via Leeke Street Arches, 4 miles
* We will meet outside the main entrance of Waterloo Rail station, bottom of the main staircase (pictured below) and will begin with a short walk to Leeke Street Arches (pictured above). Great photo-ops with street artwork changing daily.

* We will then proceed to cross the Millennium bridge to see the Queenhithe Mosaic, the 30m long timeline depicting the history of London.
* We will then cross over at Southwark bridge back to South Bank to see the The Golden Hinde (launched 1973), which is a full-size replica of the *Golden Hind* (launched 1577). Like the original ship, she has circumnavigated the globe.
* We will and end our walk at London Bridge.
* Optional drinks/lunch at the newly oppened Spoons.
People who decide to get food from the market can always join us later in the pub.

London Bisexual Women Games, Snacks & Wine Night: Being Evil 😈🃏
## Bi, Pan & Queer Women’s Games Night
This is a chilled evening for bisexual, pansexual, and queer women (trans and enby inclusive) to hang out, play board or card games, sip wine (BYO to share!), snack on treats (please bring some too), and enjoy some laughs in good company.
***
### Theme: Being Evil 😈🃏
This one’s for schemers, strategists, bluffers, and those who secretly love being the villain. Being Evil celebrates playful deception, dramatic reveals, and games where alliances are temporary and betrayal is half the fun.
Bring snacks that feel indulgent, bold, or slightly wicked. Dark chocolate, spicy crisps, dramatic cheese.
Dressing to theme is optional but highly encouraged if you enjoy a little flair and have some devil horns laying around. Let's enjoy some deliciously evil gameplay!

📽️Time Hoppers: The Silk Road
From the futuristic domes of North Greenwich, where the river Thames bends and the popcorn smells are strongest, we’re gathering for an epic screening of **Time Hoppers: The Silk Road**.
🎬 **THE MISSION:**
🎞️ **Film:** Time Hoppers: The Silk Road (rated PG)
⏳ **Runtime:** 1 hour 43 mins
📍 **Location:** Cineworld London - The O2 (Greenwich)
🚇 **Nearest Tube Station**: North Greenwich (Jubilee line)
⌚ **The Meet:** 4:45pm (Outside the cinema entrance)
🎬 **Film Starts:** 5:00pm (Sharp)
✊ **Note:** Active Muslims is equally about focusing on the actual activity. In this case, this is a **highly disciplined cinematic operation**, not a nap in a dark room. It is advised to approach this event with the intention of peak relaxation and the purpose of extreme snack consumption. We expect a "paced" viewing—stay alert for the plot twists and keep the popcorn-to-mouth ratio consistent.
### 👨👩👧👦 FAMILY & JUNIOR RECRUITS
This event is specifically designed for the next generation! We want to see the **kids, nephews, and nieces** out in full force. Whether they are future time travelers or just there for the Slushies, bring them along to join the crew.
### 🎟️ TICKETS & LOGISTICS
No group discounts this time
**Price: £5.99 per person.**
**[Booking: Please purchase your tickets for the 5:00pm](https://experience.cineworld.co.uk/select-tickets?sitecode=077&site=077&id=281082&lang=en)** showing on Friday, 17th April \**via the Cineworld website/app. Group Booking:* There is no group discount but we can try to ensure we have tickets in the event they may sell out before the date by ordering earlier. I can book earlier if you want me to book for you but it’s virtually impossible to ensure we can all sit in the same block!
➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
🚻**Facilities**: On-site restrooms available in the O2.
🕋 **Prayer**: There is a multi-faith prayer room located opposite the family room on Level 2 should you want to pray before/after the film (asr: 16:52 maghbrib: 20:05).
🎒 **What to bring:** Your "serious" cinema face, a fully charged phone, and enough energy to keep up with the kids.
🍉 **Food**: Cineworld have a strict no externally purchased hot food policy. Technically, you can bring your own snacks (although I would keep it subtle).
🥾 **Footwear:** Hiking boots are *not* recommended (unless you really want to), but comfy socks for those recliner seats are a win.
⛑️ **Disclaimer:** You are solely responsible for your own safety (and your kids' popcorn intake). You are also responsible for your belongings at all times.

Unfortunately no large dogs and small children are permitted on these walks.
**NOTICE of RISKS applicable for all walks:**
Please dress appropriately for weather and terrain conditions.
Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.
These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.
Do not attend this walk unless you accept and consent to the above risks. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

🏘️Offline Women Explore Pretty London: Notting Hill
Join us for our series where **Offline Women Explore Pretty London**, visiting different neighbourhoods to enjoy the most charming pockets of our city only through our eyes.
The first walk in this series will be through **Notting Hill**. I am not a tour guide and this is not a formal trek. The idea is to wander and see what gems we can find together.
We will look for those secluded mews, undiscovered cafés, tree-lined streets, artisan bakeries, and bookshops that allow you to escape in a huge capital city like London.
To keep things truly offline, this is a phone-free and photo-free walk. We live in the most photographed city in the world, but we often miss the soul of it because we are busy framing the shot.
We ask everyone to keep their phones tucked away for the whole walk. It is a bit of a rebellious way to explore London, but let’s see how much more we notice when we are fully present for these quiet and gentle moments.
There is no set agenda, just good conversation and nice streets. Whether you are a London local or just moved here, come along and wander with us. Just remember to wear comfortable shoes and leave the digital world behind for a couple of hours.
This series is inspired by the book [prettycitylondon](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35888470-prettycitylondon).

Singles Sunday Park Walk | Ages 40 to 55
BOOK YOUR TICKET 👉🏼 [HERE](https://itsadate.club/event/sunday-park-walk-28/).
Connecting with potential partners is a walk in the park when you’re doing something you love! If you’re active, enjoy a good social scene, and are into the outdoors, join us with 30 single guests for a 6.5 km walk around the Regents Park and Primrose Hill Circular. Switch scrolling for strolling during this wholesome morning, which includes a hosted walk, coffee (or tea), and a homemade chocolate brownie.
Meet James, your host, outside Regents Bar and Kitchen in Regents Park Inner Circle and just a short walk from Baker Street Station. After a stroll around Queen Mary’s Garden, we will continue through Marylebone Green and the English Gardens of Regent’s Park. We’ll then head north, crossing Regents Canal via the Monkey Gate, and make our way up to the viewpoint at Primrose Hill. Here, we’ll stop for coffee and homemade brownies—a great opportunity to socialise more widely with the group and get to know as many people as possible. If the weather isn’t kind to us, we’ll take refuge in a nearby café around Primrose Hill.
After this short interlude, we will continue clockwise on the circuit, re-joining The Board Walk in Regents Park as we pass London Zoo, and then return to Marylebone Green, where we’ll conclude at the Japanese Garden.
This is a super-relaxed morning walk and a fantastic opportunity to meet a fun bunch of people while getting your steps in along the way. After the walk, the usual post-event matching and messaging will be available on your It’s a Date dashboard. Alternatively, there are plenty of nearby trails and cosy Marylebone pubs to extend your date with newfound connections.
If you have any questions about the event or how things will work, please get in touch with James at 07517 065492 or james@itsadate.club.

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!).
**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.
*For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)*
**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**FAQ**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**LOGISTICS**
* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
* Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details.
* If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋
**IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...**
[The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up.
* This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
Hike Blacklick Woods and The Canopy. Optional lunch after.
Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in!
We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind.
If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward.
Griggs Reservoir Walk: Wyandot Park to Griggs Dam and Back
We'll meet at Wyandot Park, cross Riverside Dr at Lane Rd, then walk south along the water to Griggs Park and back — around 5 miles total.
A scenic out-and-back route along the Scioto River. One of the nicer stretches of trail in Columbus.
Parking is available at Wyandot Park, off Lane Rd.
Here's an overview of the route on Google Maps:

See you there.
Hike Pickerington Ponds
We'll hike 3.4 miles on the Killdeer and Yellowlegs Trails - both out and back gravel trails. If we want more mileage we can repeat an out and back. Pace of around 3.5 mph, no one left behind and those who want to go faster sure can!
As always optional lunch after.
This is the second Metro Park in the lineup for me - with 21 to go (plus more are being added).
Alum Creek Trail Hike
Joins us for a 3 mile hike this Friday evening along the beautiful Alum Creek Trail. This fully paved trail is pretty flat and winds along Alum Creek. We will travel 1.5 miles south along the trail to a scenic bridge before turning around. Hope to see you Friday!
