Enjoy "Hatha Yoga" class with our experienced, compassionate, and Certified Yoga instructor Laurie Jordan. Laurie earned her certification at The Sivananda International Vedanta Center in Val Miren, Canada in 2001. Her Yoga teaching includes Yogic meditation, breathing and proven relaxation techniques. She has appeared on PBS television on the value of meditation with world famous Guru and author Dr. Deepak Chopra. She enjoys introducing children as well as seniors to Yoga with animal poses and games. She also possesses a wealth of very deep knowledge on health foods and nutrition. Level? All levels are welcomed, regardless of age or level. We are a completely non-judgmental group, so you are not competing with any of the other fellow practitioners. What to bring? Nothing. We have quite a number of Yoga mats, so you can just show up. Donation: $10 only. So come and transform your mind, body, and spirit permanently forever!
“Kundalini yoga is the experience of your own excellence.” ~ Yogi Bhajan You are warmly welcomed for a special class of Kundalini Yoga with Kathleen Good, Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, appropriate for all levels, beginners are especially welcomed. If you can move and breathe, this class is for you! In this class, you will learn the components of a Kundalini Yoga practice as taught by Yogi Bhajan. We will start with pranayama or breathing exercises, a yoga kriya (sequence of movements), savasana (deep relaxation) and end the practice with a wonderful meditation. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early, wear loose, comfortable clothing. Bring a water bottle, yoga mat or meditation cushion if you have one and a shawl or light blanket. We do have yoga mats and pillows in case you will like to use ours. About Kathleen: Kathleen was Introduced to yoga as a child and rediscovered it later after a serious challenge to her health. Interestingly Kathleen had practiced law before becoming a Kundalini Yoga teacher. She trained and received her certification from Kundalini Yoga East in New York City in 2010. Kathleen is committed to sharing the gift of Yoga to maintain physical health and peace of mind. She is also Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga and Childplay Yoga teacher. Nothing like mixing healthy meal with like-minded people in a fun social party. Please join-in for our monthly holistic party to meet others like you. We are doing this in the pot-luck style so that we get to taste the diverse and interesting cuisines/food choices, we don't get to taste regularly. Bring your favorite pot-luck dish with any kind of drinks (which includes wines etc...this is a party) to share. There will a guided Yoga/Meditation class, followed by introductions culminating into free-flow networking and party till the time people would like to hang-in. Keeping it simple with the least number of rules and no restrictions. The only rule is to be open, flexible and have fun! Frequency: once a month at the first Saturday evening of every month. An hour long "Hatha Yoga" class from a Certified Yoga Teacher, in a supporting, compassionate, healing, uplifting, enriching, and non-judgmental environment. Level: All levels are welcomed, including absolute beginners. Format: * Guided Hatha Yoga postures: starting from beginner easy poses, moving to moderate, and finally challenging (optional) for advanced folks. * Some "Pranayam" (breathing): makes the experience more complete, truly touching and connecting your mind, body & soul. * Asana of the Day: an interesting posture to break the monotony of the same routine with a surprise element such as Superman etc. * Yoga Nidra: Relaxing healing end. What to bring? Nothing. We have quite a number of Yoga mats, so you can just show up unless you really love your mat.
