Friends of the Myles Standish State Forest Hiking Group is an off-shoot of Friends of MSSF. We try to hold monthly guided hikes in the forest on the first Sunday of the month. We want to encourage everyone to learn about and enjoy the wonderful pine barrens of S.E. Massachusetts. All ages are welcome. Friendly dogs are okay too. If you love hiking you will discover that MSSF has some great places to explore. FMSSF conducts work parties and hosts events in and about the forest.
Please consider joining FMSSF. See http://www.friendsmssf.com. The forest belongs to all of us and it needs many more friends to keep it viable.
If you need directions to the forest, find a map of the forest in "Files". Look for MylesStandishSmr-DCR—Map of Myles Standish State Forest, Summer.
For GPS navigation the MSSF Headquarter's address is 194 Cranberry Road, South Carver, MA 02366.

Frank Werny will lead us along this new trail. The hike is moderate, 5.1 miles. It touches on College, Hooper and Cherry Ponds. Frank took Sharl on a trial run in preparation for this hike. We enjoyed it very much. We walked through pristine pitch pine forest, saw lovely ponds and had a great view over the rolling hills of Northern MSSF. Frank will lead the fast group, Sharl will bring along the "strollers". Read more
Frank donates $2 for every book sold to a hiker or friend of MSSF.
