"Thanks" to Monetate and "Welcome" to Dana

Hi All,

I just wanted to give a quick "thanks" to Monetate for hosting us this evening at Monetate HQ -- congrats on your current success and best of luck for continued success as the company grows. I think we had another great PhillyPUG meeting tonight, big thanks to everyone for coming out.

Also, I wanted to announce to the group and welcome Dana Bauer as Co-Organizer of PhillyPUG. Dana is the current organizer of PyStar Philly (http://pystar.org...). Per the PyStar website, "The PyStar program is a workshop designed to teach all women (including trans women) and their friends who are looking to learn how to program in a friendly non-alpha-geek environment." The thing is, the "PyStar approach" to engage newcomers to Python in a welcoming environment has attracted more than just women -- PyStar Philly has seen high demand for their workshops by women AND men who are new to programming/python. To that end, we felt that an even closer working relationship and joint efforts between PhillyPUG and PyStar Philly were in order. To support this effort, Dana has come on board as a Co-Organizer of the group. As things evolve, further communication will be sent out to the group regarding a clearer definition of the relationship of PhillyPUG and PyStar. In the meantime, I hope you will join me in welcoming Dana to our leadership team!

See you all in October! ... the pumpkin beer should be flowing at Prohibition by then :-)

All the best,
Tom.
