CHESS VALLEY SCENIC COUNTRY WALK.
WALK DESCRIPTION: COUNTRYSIDE WALK - PART 1 of our scenic countryside walk through the impressive Chess Valley with amazing scenery - approx 6 miles.
SCENIC ROUTE: Our walk is on Chiltern Hills and along the Chess Valley which has some of the most attractive countryside in the designated Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We will be climbing up to to the beautiful village of Chenies and passing Latimer House. These were both once part of the same estate, owned by the Russell family, (of Bloomsbury and Russell Square in London). The Chess Valley, one of the most beautiful parts of the Chiltern Hills, with a number of spectacular panoramic views and some of the most attractive countryside in the designated Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
WALK START POINT: Chorleywood Station at 11:00 AM.
WALK END POINT: Walk finishes in Chalfont St. Latimer at approx. 2pm.
WALK DISTANCE: Just over 6 miles/9 Kilometres at a moderate pace. There are no dropout points during this walk. There are some hills, and therefore you need to be reasonably fit.
TRANSPORT: Chorleywood is in travelcard zone seven and Chalfont St. Latimer in travelcard zone eight, so you can use Oyster or contactless to pay for your journey. Freedom Passes are also valid.
FRESH AIR: Give up the city streets for a day and breathe some fresh air. Improve your overall fitness levels on a green walk.

Our walks are social walks, where the emphasis is on meeting new people, enjoying nature, healthy exercise, and fresh air. Our walks are not interrupted with running commentaries or historical lectures, although occasionally features of significance may be pointed out. As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub with a convivial atmosphere where the socialising can continue. WALK DESCRIPTION: This is going to be a lovely walk on the Chiltern Hills, with great views, and, not surprisingly, lots of countryside and hills. The Chess Valley, one of the most beautiful parts of the Chiltern Hills, with a number of spectacular panoramic views.
START POINT: Chalfont and Latimer Station at 14:30 PM.
END POINT: Walk finishes in Chesham at approx. 6:00 PM. There are lots of places to eat and drink in Chesham.
DISTANCE: Just over 6 miles/9 Kilometres at a moderate pace. There are no dropout points during this walk. There are some hills, and therefore you need to be reasonably fit.

This is an almost circular walk. Hills (optional) and canals are the theme for today's walk in the green suburbs of London Travelzones 4 and 5.

WALK START POINT: Meeting at Northolt Station (Central Line -Zone 4/5). When you arrive at the start look for Ken with the the Meetup badge. If you are running a few minutes late, don't worry, we usually wait a short time for latecomers. If you are more than 15 mins late you will have to catch us up. Head to Northolt Village and Belvue Park,and then the Cafe at Northala fields.Northolt Station - Zone 4 - Central Line.
WALK DISTANCE: Approx 5.5 miles. Mostly flat with optional gradients (hilltop views).
WALK END POINT: We end this walk at a very large pub (Greenwood hotel/pub) reasonably close (500 yards) to Sudbury Hill Station and also not far from Northolt, Northolt Park and Greenford stations, offering Central and Piccadilly lines, GWR and Chiltern railways. Also a bus can be caught from outside pub taking you to several other stations.
STOP OUT POINT: Our route goes close to multi London bus routesWALK ROUTE: Join us for a near circular walk involving, Islip Manor Park, Belvue Park,the historic village of Northolt, the moated site on which manors have stood since William the Conqueror gifted the original manor to Geoffrey De Mandeville after the conquest in 1066. Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.
These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.

LAKES and GREENWAY TRACKS and COUNTRYSIDE.
This afternoon we have a circular walk from Rickmansworth to Rickmansworth Acquadrome.
WALK STARTING POINT: Meet at 14.30pm outside Rickmansworth Underground Station. (Metropolitan Line - Zone 7).
WALK ROUTE:- Leaving shortly after 2.30pm we make our way to the Rickmansworth Acquadome. Our path takes us around several lakes and fields in Rickmansworth.
WALK END POINT: At a large pub in Rickmansworth not far from the underground station
WALK DISTANCE: Approx. 4.5 miles at a moderate pace. The route is mainly flat.
STOPOUT POINTS: Never far from London Bus routes.

As such our walks will be continuous with few stops and it is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk. We always end the walk at a pub with a convivial atmosphere where the socialising can continue. RIVER, MEADOWS, PARKS, WOODED TRAILS.
A green walk through several North London parks and along a stretch of the New River.
WALK START: Travel to BRIMSDOWN Station on National Rail (or travel by tube and change to meet train at Tottenham Hale). Meet up outside the station at 12noon. Look for Ken with the meetup badge.
WALK ROUTE: Durants Park, Bush Hill Park, Enfield Town Park and New River to Enfield Chase and Gordon Hill Station.
WALK FINISH: Gordon Hill Station.
WALK DISTANCE: Length of walk5 miles - approx. 2 hours.
WALK STOPOUT POINT: At several points during the walk we are close to London bus routes.
Enjoy London! Get out, stay fit, and see your City in the company of new people and great friends! Give up the city streets for a day and breathe some fresh air. Walking is one of life's great social activities. See new parts of London and surrounding countryside. Visit places you would not normally have a reason to come to.

Please only wear good sturdy shoes, preferably walking boots and take care as surfaces may be uneven, tree roots may protrude, there may be low overhanging branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion wild,domestic and farm animals may also encountered. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.
No large dogs or small children please.
Please arrive in good time to allow opportunity to use toilets at the start of the walk as there may not be any toilet breaks available during the walk.

- COUNTRYSIDE WALK: THROUGH HERTFORDSHIRE to WALTHAM CROSSGordon Hill Station (Stop A), Greater London£5.00
A GREEN COUNTRYSIDE WALK from Gordon Hill Station through the Hertfordshire countryside up to Crews Hill and finishing at Waltham Cross.
Walk will be at a good pace and continuous with few stopping points.
Only book a walk if you are sure you can attend! Walks will only be cancelled if there is very heavy rain!
START POINT: Gordon Hill Station - Travel Zone 5.
DISTANCE: Approx 8 miles.
END POINT: At a pub near Waltham Cross Station - Travel Zone 7.
STOPPING OUT POINTS: Crews Hill Station - Travel Zone 6 and Theobalds Station - Travel Zone 7.It is your responsibilty to keep walkers ahead in view and to follow the direction of the walk.
