Art, Cosmos and Psyche
Tue, May 26, 11:00 PMJoin us for a live presentation with Claudia Bader about the intersection between art, psychodynamics, and astrology. This is a pay-what-can in-person event at the New York Theosophical Society. You may also join the Zoom livestream that night for a small $5.85 required fee. This fee is necessary to prevent Zoom bombers. **Livestream Tickets:** [https://buytickets.at/bigappleastrologymeetup/2207045](https://buytickets.at/bigappleastrologymeetup/2207045) **Event Description:** You can see someone’s astrology and psychology in their artwork. The psyche and the astrological charts come out in an art work’s symbols, and in what themes/ideas/archetypes compel an artist. It also shows formally in composition, line, form, color, materials, scale and texture. As a professor in 3 art therapy clinical programs teaching art interpretation for 26 years, Clauda Bader has long researched the relationship between psychodynamics, astrology and artwork. She can look at someone’s artwork and detect what part of the astrological chart the psyche wishes bring out and further develop. After exploring how the psyche communicates through art, she will trace the intercorrelations and triangulations between the artistic, the psychological and the astrological. It doesn’t matter if the person is a professional artist or not, the psyche speaks through imagery we latch on to, and the astrological chart shapes any artwork. Come learn the results of an unexpected art and astrology experiment with 100 people who did not know even their Western astrological signs. Discover a case study of an artist whose art shows her transformation as she healed and how this was reflected in her astrology. Richly illustrated with examples of artists (famous and not), on art elements, psychology, and astrology, we will also look at the specific art characteristics of the signs and planets to see the correspondence between psyche, chart, and artwork. Join us for an illuminating evening of creative, deep, celestial interconnections. **$$ In Person Event:** A suggested donation is $5 -$30 is very VERY much appreciated, but please know whatever you can afford is acceptable. Where Art Meets Machine: Creating Stories That Change How We See
Thu, May 28, 11:00 PMAward-winning directors **[Michaela Ternasky-Holland](https://michaelaternaskyholland.com/?utm_source=luma)** and **[Aaron Santiago](https://aaron.work/?utm_source=luma)** are building worlds at the cutting edge of AI, VR, and immersive media. Rather than create for spectacle, their aim is to **collapse the distance between strangers.** In collaboration with the **[National Arts Club](https://www.nacnyc.org/?utm_source=luma)** and its **[Art and Technology Committee](https://www.nacnyc.org/arts-and-programs/committees?utm_source=luma)**, this conversation will reveal how they use **generative AI, motion capture, 360° cinematography, projection mapping, and volumetric capture** to tell stories that cross lines of culture, ability, and lived experience. From Emmy-winning VR documentaries screened at **Tribeca and Cannes** to experimental AI films created with OpenAI's SORA, Ternasky-Holland and Santiago work where technology stops being a tool and starts becoming a language. They'll discuss their solo projects, their collaborations, and the question at the heart of their practice: **Does technology inspire art, or does art give technology meaning?** Whether you're a creator, technologist, or just curious about where storytelling is headed, this is a rare chance to hear from two artists **shaping the future of how we connect.** Reserve your spot and **arrive early**.
