This is not another portfolio build. The aim is to teach you actual lighting techniques to elevate your photography to award winning levels over an intense 3 hours of creative lighting techniques. • Half hour group chat about finding your own creative style. Grab your art supplies and a picnic blanket or camp chair and let’s get together for an artsy hangout on the grass outside Balam Balam Place 👩‍🎨 all kinds of artists and skill levels are welcome to join! If you aren’t sure what to create the club has a weekly theme, just ask me what the prompt is! ☕️ The Home Economics cafe is at the entrance to the main building if you want to grab a drink or sit inside the cafe area ☔️ If there is rain this event will either be moved to Brunswick Library or cancelled ⚠️IMPORTANT⚠️ Please do not attend if you are sick. Artsy Afternoon @ O3Space ✨

Join us for a chill artsy afternoon, bring any art supplies you like 👩‍🎨🎨📝✨ Access to O3Space requires you to have the minimum ( FREE! ) membership that you sign up for when you download their app. Simply download the O3Space app, create a profile and use the QR code at the gate to enter/exit the building. The gate is located inside the tram on the right side of the cafe ☕️🚊 The free membership allows you in the building for up to 3 hours per week, if you go over they might charge you so make sure to use the QR code on your way out!! There is a timer countdown in the app so you know how long you have been there ⏰

Introduction to Guided Drawing

Guided Drawing is a sensorimotor art therapy practice developed and taught by Cornelia Elbrecht that helps us to reconnect with our emotions through movement and sensation. Our emotions live in the body and when we practice listening inward, we can feel more grounded and regulated. This approach gently supports parts of our life experiences that may be difficult to access through talking alone, especially memories and feelings beneath conscious awareness. The session begins with a short introduction and gentle warm-up. With your eyes closed, you will use both hands to map out sensations within your body and to draw out any movements that your body might need, allowing your embodied self to guide the process. I will demonstrate the activity while also offering suggested shapes and interventions during the process. The explanation of what to do, how to connect with my body and examples of how to express myself and tap into my own feelings, made the session feel so aligned to exactly what I needed. Inclusive Grief Circle: Honouring Loss Through Ceremony, Community & Creativity

Subconsciously, we are awaiting the presence of others, before we can feel safe enough to drop to our knees on the holy ground of sorrow. For the most part, grief is not a problem to be solved, not a condition to be medicated, but a deep encounter with an essential experience of being human. Grief becomes problematic when the conditions needed to help us work with grief are absent.” - Francis Weller Our primary association with grief is the loss of a loved one but there are so many kinds of losses that don't have formal ceremonies that are important to honour. Unprocessed grief can accumulate in weight, dulling our senses and capacity for aliveness. This is a safe, supportive space for all shapes, sizes and textures of grief- for the loss of our loved ones, for the childhood we did not get to have, for the parts of ourselves that have been rejected and exiled, for friendships and relationships with ambiguous endings, for homes and communities we are distanced from and miss, for the suffering of the world and our fellow beings. This inclusive grief circle is also an advocacy for compassionate and attentive grief work, for reshaping our understanding of and relationship with grief. It is a holding space, a container, a time and a deep permission to acknowledge our emotions, our connections, the ways we have been touched and transformed, and our humanity. We are getting together for a relaxed afternoon to explore the creative side of face painting. Whether you are a seasoned artist looking to refine your line work or someone who has never held a professional brush before, this event is all about enjoying the process in good company. We will have a variety of paints and supplies set up, so you can focus on practicing new designs, sharing techniques, or simply experimenting with color in a friendly, low-pressure environment. This gathering is meant to be a social space where we can connect and learn from one another while we create. It is a great opportunity to meet fellow members of The Vibrant Face Paint Social Club, swap stories, and enjoy a bit of artistic expression alongside like-minded people in Melbourne. Please come ready to chat, share, and pick up a few tips as we build this community together.
