What happens when monuments fall—and what rises in their place? On **Saturday, May 2nd**, you’re invited to join Women of Culture in collaboration with [CuraArt](https://www.curaart.com/) to experience what has been called “the year’s most audacious and contentious new show.” ([NY Times](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/10/20/arts/design/art-civil-war-monuments-brick-geffen-contemporary-los-angeles.html)). **[Advance Purchase Required here](https://luma.com/srynl4c2)** Bringing together decommissioned public monuments alongside contemporary works, ***[MONUMENTS](https://www.moca.org/exhibition/monuments?utm_source=luma)*** captures a defining cultural shift by recontextualizing objects once rooted in public space, inviting a deeper look at the narratives they carry. Presented in varying states—from untouched to altered—these monuments are placed in dialogue with works by leading artists, creating a layered, immersive experience that questions how history is remembered and who gets to shape it. You’ll have the chance to take a deeper look at this important show during a private, guided tour led by Assistant Curator, Paula Kroll—provoking reflection, conversation, and a more personal connection to the work. Before the tour, join us for a refined brunch at **[Rappahannock Oyster Bar](https://www.rroysters.com/rappahannock-oyster-bar-los-angeles-ca.html?utm_source=luma)**—connecting over a fresh, seafood-forward menu in a warm and lively setting. It’s the perfect way to ease into the afternoon and meet your fellow art-full explorers over a shared meal **What you can look forward to:** * A private, curator-led experience that reveals the deeper context behind the exhibition * The chance to share a thoughtfully curated afternoon with like-minded women * A fully planned experience so all you have to do is show up and be present! **This experience is for you if:** * You desire to have a deeper understanding of this landmark exhibit * You are looking to expand your knowledge of contemporary art, with history as a backdrop * You enjoy meeting new people, creating shared memories and connecting through more meaningful conversations _____ **Schedule:** **Date**: May 2, 2026 **11am \|** Brunch at [Rappahannock Oyster Bar](https://www.rroysters.com/rappahannock-oyster-bar-los-angeles-ca.html?utm_source=luma) 777 S Alameda Street, #154 **12:45pm \|** Meet for **1pm** tour The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA _____ **[Advance Purchase Required here](https://luma.com/srynl4c2)** **Tickets:** **Tour only:** $20 first release; $25 full price **Full experience with 1 entree at brunch:\*** $60 first release; $65 full price \*\*Brunch includes 1 entree (up to $28)+ tax/tip. Gentle Yoga Flow With Aileen

Gentle Yoga Flow With Aileen

Wed, Apr 22, 2:00 AM
From Heal One World:Films and Yoga:Mindfulness and Social Justice
4.9

**Class Description:** This class is designed to introduce a gentle breath-to-movement sequence to yogis of all levels. It incorporates mindful movements, breathwork, and music to restore inner peace and balance while remaining present in each moment. In this series, there are times when we will move one breath to movement and times when we land in a posture and hold for multiple breaths. Our goal is to listen to our bodies and take whatever movement is calling to us. **Teacher Bio:** My yoga journey started in 2019 and since practicing, what I’ve learned is that there is a limitless potential for growth that this practice continuously has to offer. Yoga has been fundamental in my healing journey and my wish it to pass on this learned healing to others so that they may find as much peace and comfort on their mats as I do. I create an empowering space for one to feel free to express their intention with compassion, patience, and joy. I’m excited to join this community of healers and I can’t wait to meet you on the mat! *Heal One World is a nonprofit dedicated to providing holistic preventative healthcare services and low or no cost—no one is turned away due to lack of funds. If you’d like to contribute to our mission and help us continue to provide services, you may choose to donate any amount on PayPal (no account necessary).*
