Its four sections, Astronomy, the Space Race, Futurisms, and Aliens, bring together artists from the East, the West, and the Global South and trace how they responded to advances in space science and technology and connected these discoveries to their own cultural contexts. The exhibition combines historical artifacts, including a full-scale model of Sputnik-1, an original meteorite, and cosmos-themed sculptures, with contemporary and Cold War-era artwork inspired by the cosmos. Hike around Haunted Hayride

We will walk around the haunted hayride to check it out. Walk is easy walk less than 1 mile. We are NOT going on the rides or inside. We will walk on trail that goes around it. They usually charge for parking so tell them you are here for a hike and not a customer of the ride. We will meet in front of the merry go round. We will wait 15 or so minutes.

Babette's Feast @ Billy Wilder Theatre

Come join me for a screening of *Babette’s Feast* at UCLA’s Billy Wilder Theater on November 7! Admission is free, but it's also first come-first serve. The movie starts at 730PM, but I plan to be there for 7:00PM when the box office opens so that I can get a decent seat. I also plan to grab a bite beforehand (around 5:00PM) as I'm sure the film will make me hungry! I'll probably get the prix fixe at Lulu if it looks good, or one of the Persian places nearby. You're welcome to join me but the main focus of this Meetup event will be the film. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a beautiful, food-centered film together and make an evening of it.
