NSEG - Northern Suburbs Eurogamers

NSEG - Northern Suburbs Eurogamers

Sun, May 17, 2:00 AM
From Melbourne Meeples Board Games
4.6

The Northern Suburbs Eurogamers (NSEG) is a regular meetup held at [Croxton Park Hotel](https://www.croxtonparkhotel.com.au/) on selected Sundays (view the current year dates [below](https://meeples.org.au/nseg/#dates)). Running since 2012, NSEG is an established group, but we always love playing with new people. ### Where do we play? The meetup is held at Croxton Park Hotel. We meet in the Bistro, just near the fireplace, so itโ€™s lovely and warm. ![](http://meeples.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/bunchogames.jpg) ### What sort of games do we play? We play: * Games for beginners (which we call gateway games) like Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne, Splendour, Small World and King of Tokyo. * Strategy (Euro) games like Power Grid, Lords of Waterdeep, Village, Imperial and Suburbia. * Thematic games (that involve lots of dice and role play) like Betrayal at House on the Hill and Dead of Winter. * Party Games (quick and easy games) like Resistance, Spyfall and Timeโ€™s Up. * Card Games like Love Letter, Uno, Fluxx, Bohanza, Red7, Fuji Flush, Munchkin. And much much more! If you have a game you love, bring it along and show usโ€ฆ maybe weโ€™ve never heard of it and will love it too! We do a rules explanation before each game (unless everyone has played it before) so donโ€™t worry if youโ€™ve never played (or heard) of any of these games. ### How about food and Drinks? The Croxtonโ€™s kitchen has all the pub classics and tasty little bitesโ€ฆ check out the [Menu](https://www.facebook.com/pg/CroxtonParkHotel/menu). The bar also serves drinks, both soft and hardโ€ฆ plus tea and coffee. ### Do I have to be a Melbourne Meeples Inc. Member to attend? No, though if you are not a member, we do ask that you pay a small donation (we suggest $3) to help cover the cost of the games library and the Melbourne Meeples Inc support structure. And you can always [become a member](http://meeples.org.au/membership/)! ### How to get there The Croxton is located at [407 High St, Thornbury](https://goo.gl/maps/s7yePRZ8meL2). * **By Car:** If youโ€™re driving there is a carpark on the opposite side of the road. * **By Tram:** you can jump on the [Route 86](http://ptv.vic.gov.au/route/view/1881) and get off near Darebin Road (Stop #36) or Woolton Ave (Stop #37). * **By Train:** Croxton Railway Station is a brisk 400m walk away.

*FREE* - Blood on the Clocktower - Beginners Welcome @Boyd Community Hub

Sat, May 23, 7:30 AM
From Ludos Melbourne Games
4.9

We're back (again)! At the Boyd Community Hub, Southbank. We'll aim to have 30 minutes of introduction and tutorial, with a 6pm start to our first game, so please be ON TIME. **What to Expect:** Blood on the Clocktower is a social deduction game requiring a storyteller to take a roughly a dozen people through a series of "days and nights" where townspeople try to identify and hunt down a *demon* before they become the hunted. **Beginners welcome!** You don't need to know how to play **AT ALL**, so please invite a friend, we will run a tutorial for those who need it. **NOTE** BOTC requires fluent English, the crux of this game is communication and deception. **2 Strike Policy** Late-leavers: attendees who cancel within 24 hours of the event. No-shows: attendees who mark themselves as โ€œgoingโ€ but donโ€™t turn up. Someone who does either of these once will be forgiven but flagged. On a second offence, they will be removed. Long-time regulars will be afforded some leniency. Legitimate reasons will be considered for leniency.

Frequently asked questions

Meetup connects individuals by helping them discover and join local groups and events based on mutual interests. It's a platform where people can find their community and participate, either in-person or online, in activities they love.

Search for cooperative games on Meetup by specifying your location as Melbourne. You'll see groups and upcoming events focused on this interest. It's a great way to meet fellow enthusiasts and participate in fun gaming sessions nearby!

You can check for cooperative gaming events this weekend by searching for upcoming activities in Melbourne on Meetup. It allows you to explore the schedule and RSVP for events of interest as soon as possible.

Yes, you can join as many groups as you like on Meetup. If cooperative games are your main interest, participating in various groups helps you find a community that matches your preferences and meet more enthusiasts along the way!

Meetup is free to use for joining groups and browsing events. Sometimes, particular events may require a fee set by the group organizer. Be sure to check event details for any associated costs before RSVPing.

RSVPing is simple on Meetup. Once you find an event on the platform, just click the RSVP button to confirm your attendance. This lets the organizer know you're attending and helps them plan accordingly.

Availability depends on the existing groups and organizers in Melbourne. While Meetup hosts a wide range of interests, there may not always be an active group for cooperative games at any given time.

Yes, if you're passionate about cooperative games and can't find a group, you can start your own! As an organizer on Meetup, you can create a community around these games, plan events, and bring enthusiasts together.

In Melbourne, cooperative gaming groups might focus on board games, video games, or role-playing games (RPGs). The exact types depend on the group's focus and preferences of its members. Exploring different groups can reveal diverse gaming styles.

This may vary. Some cooperative gaming events are BYOG (bring your own game), while others provide games as part of the event. Check the event description or reach out to the organizer for clarification before attending.

Be open and friendly! Start conversations with fellow participants about the games or your experiences. Cooperative games naturally encourage teamwork, making it easy to connect with others and form new friendships during events.

Events on Meetup are organized by group leaders or members, not directly by Meetup. These volunteer organizers are often enthusiasts themselves, planning gatherings for fun and community building around shared interests like cooperative games.

Event quality can vary since it's reliant on the group organizers. Meetup provides the platform, but organizers manage the event details, so occasionally some events might not meet everyone's expectations.

Not necessarily. Some events might be online depending on the group organizer's decision. Mixed structures allow for broader participation, accommodating those who prefer in-person or virtual gatherings.

While Meetup facilitates connections, making lasting friendships depends on individual experiences and active participation in events. The platform provides opportunities, but how you engage with the community influences outcomes.
