This will be a very cool event! We will start with a tour of the Rumpke Recycling & Resource Center, the largest and most technically advanced recycling center in North America. The tour starts at 9 am so plan on arriving a few minutes early so our group can convene. There may be a few other people on our tour, which lasts an hour. From there we'll go to Nelson Park, which is about 1.4 miles from Rumpke, has parking and sits directly on Alum Creek Trail (which is paved). We'll walk about 3 miles (out and back) on Alum Creek and then head to Scotty's Cafe for lunch. Closed toe shoes with backs are required. https://www.rumpke.com/about-us/service-areas/oh/franklin-county/columbus/recycling-resource-center https://scottys-cafe.menu-world.com/#about Address: Nelson Park, 430 N. Yes, you can join as many groups on Meetup as you like. This allows you to explore various interests, from hiking to other adventure sports, and meet different groups of people to enrich your experience.

While many adventure groups focus on outdoor activities like hiking and camping, some might offer indoor options like rock climbing at gyms. It varies by group and organizer preferences, so check individual event details.

Joining Meetup is free, but some groups might charge a fee for membership or events to cover costs. Always check the group's page for any fees or dues required for participation.

Meetup can't guarantee you'll connect deeply with a group, but by actively participating and choosing groups aligned with your interests, you maximize the chances of having a rewarding experience.

RSVP for an event by clicking the 'Join' or 'RSVP' button on the event page. This lets the organizer know you plan to attend and helps you keep track of upcoming activities on your calendar.

If you're unable to find any existing adventure groups nearby, consider starting your own! Meetup provides tools to create and manage a group, bringing together people with similar interests.

Yes, you can create your own adventure group on Meetup. Begin by defining your group's focus and goals, then invite others to join. You'll also manage events and discussions within the group.

Absolutely, groups may range widely in focus and activities. Some may exclusively hike, while others might combine various outdoor activities. Make sure to read group descriptions to find the right match.

Not all Meetup groups may be currently active, as this depends on organizer involvement. Check the group's event history and member activity to gauge its current engagement level.

Meetup's focus is on group activities; it is not intended for arranging one-on-one meetups. It's best for those seeking to collectively explore activities with others.
