OVERNIGHT BACKPACK: Bear Canyon Campground

***To participate in this event, please join the waitlist.*** From the Switzer Falls picnic area (we’ll meet at the picnic table closest to the foot bridge) we’ll trek through this beautiful trail which follows a stream for most of the way. This trail also includes a few stream crossings before reaching Bear Canyon campground, just 3.4 miles in. After descending down into the canyon we’ll follow the stream all the way to the campground. This is a very cool, shady, and spacious campground with lots of open areas for tents.
Trekking poles are strongly recommended for the multiple stream crossings. You can hop rocks to stay dry, or wear water shoes and slosh through the shallow crossings. Bring at least 2 liters of water, but
once at the campground there is plenty of water that you can purify from the adjacent stream. **DISCLAIMER**:

Join CCSC Waterskiing/Wakeboarding at the Sacramento Delta: June 25-28

Greetings All, We will be heading to the Sacramento River Delta. It is a great place to wakeboard, waterski, sky-ski and camp. Century City Ski Club has been going to this location for well over 30 years. This years dates are: June 25-28 July 16-19 August 13-16 September 24-27 You can arrive on the Wednesday afternoon before the trip to setup camp. We will not be supplying anything on Wednesday. The actual trip starts on Thursday morning with Breakfast. The trip ends on Sunday around 11 or 12 in the afternoon. Please help wash and wipe down the boats when they are pulled out of the water. These are 2, 3 or 4 day trips. The costs are: $175 for Saturday-Sunday, $349 Friday-Sunday or $439 Thursday-Sunday If you just want to camp and eat with us, the costs are half of the above prices. Please contact us for more info. We accept Zelle (preferred), Venmo, Checks and Cash. There is an extra fee for campers (RV's $35 per day) and pets ($4 per day). Email us for pricing. Each campsite fits 1 car but camp hosts are usually nice enough to allow 2 cars per camp. Overflow parking is about 1 mile away from our campsite and extra car fee is $8/day. These tufa spires rise up to 140 feet from the dry lakebed. The landscape is so out of the world, the original Planet of the Apes was filmed here.** **Dispersed camping is allowed anywhere in this area.** **Hike and explore the pinnacles.** **Or, do absolutely nothing and just chillax at camp and enjoy the lunar-like landscape.** **THIS IS PRIMITIVE CAMPING** **The area is very exposed with no shade so bring shade material, tarp, or canopy.** **Make sure you bring plenty of water with you.** **Also, please bring some firewood if you have room in your vehicle.** **..** **>>>>WHERE DO WE MEET?<<<<** **We’ll meet at the dirt road entrance located at the intersection of Trona Rd (178) and Pinnacle Rd at 11am. We have done Yosemite before on the group. And each and every time it fills up early with lotos of people with big sadness they can not go. Plain and simple . . . our events have limited size. Everything else is household items you already have. **Special note:** this is Tent camping. No RV. No Trailers. No giant campervans. **Can I park my car next to my tent?** Sniffing tires, oil, exhaust and fuel? Yuck!!! You cars will be close. But not on top of us. Cars on one side. Humans on the other.
