Conscious Women's Hike: Muir Beach and Coastal Trail

Conscious Women's Hike: Muir Beach and Coastal Trail

Sat, May 16, 9:00 PM
From SF Conscious Women's Hiking Group
5.0

Join the SF Conscious Women's Hiking Group for a transformational experience combining conscious connection, mindfulness, meditation, and hiking. This hike will take us along the Coastal Trail in Marin with dramatic views of the coast. We'll begin near Muir Beach and hike along the coastline to Pirate's Cove. We'll begin with a guided intention setting practice for mindfulness and have opportunities to connect along our hike. Partway through our hike we'll have a silent walk so that we can mindfully connect with nature and this beautiful area we live in. Nature is a beautiful way to find deeper meaning in life-- to get out of the noise of our mind and the stress of our world and into presence and connection. We'll have an optional picnic at the beach after our hike to continue the connection. Bring snacks to share. This experience is designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit with other women who are also on a path of self-awareness. This hike is led by Keegan Mils, professional yoga & meditation teacher, women's empowerment coach and outdoor lover. While Keegan is guiding this experience, she is not the expert in hiking or this trail, this hike is collaborative and is more about connection with nature and each other. This is a hike at your own risk event and take care of each other. We look out for each other and take care of each other along the way, but most importantly, take good care of yourself first. That means knowing your own limits, taking breaks, bringing water to stay hydrated. **Trail description from All Trails**: [https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/pirates-cove--2](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/pirates-cove--2) This 3.9-mile out and back trail near Muir Beach, California is generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 33 min to complete (without stops). Our group will most likely take about 3 hours, so plan accordingly. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. If you do bring a dog, please make sure your dog is dog and human friendly. Please reach out the coordinator, Keegan, to let her know. Recommended to wear sturdy light hiking shoes and bring layers. **Hike Route: Starting point:** We'll meet at the Muir Beach Parking Lot on Lagoon Dr. (Google Maps Pin: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/PVwSJB2mY7XswgRU8](https://maps.app.goo.gl/PVwSJB2mY7XswgRU8)) **Level:** Moderate **Total Distance:** 3.9 mile out and back trail **Elevation Gain**: 862 ft. **Hiking Time:** 3-3.5 hours **Information:** The free (no-pay) parking lot is busy and may be full by the time we start our hike, so plan accordingly as you may need to wait 15 minutes for a spot. Suggest to carpool. There are restrooms available in this parking lot but not on the trail. **Carpooling:** [http://groupcarpool.com/t/uvj6oc](http://groupcarpool.com/t/uvj6oc) **Carpooling instructions:** Join the carpool link and contact the driver or rider directly. **Meeting Point:** We'll meet at the Muir Beach Trailhead near the bathrooms in the parking lot (Google Maps Pin: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mgc57EsW6nLVozP6A](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Mgc57EsW6nLVozP6A)) If you'd like to contribute to the organizer for the event for organizing costs and facilitation of this event, you can Venmo (@KeeganMills) or PayPal. Suggestion contribution ($5-10). There is a fee to host a meetup group on this platform, so your contribution helps support the ongoing efforts of keeping this group going.
