With 16 miles of shoreline, San Pablo Dam Reservoir has the best flat-water kayaking and canoeing in the East Bay. There are many birds and wildlife to see. This is an EASY BEGINNER trip suitable for everyone, canoes and kayaks. San Pablo’s six-lane boat launch facility is open daily for kayaks and canoes. It is on the south end of the reservoir. Parking is $8.00, launch is $4.00, boat Inspection is $6.00. All boats must be inspected before launch to prevent Quagga Mussels from entering EBMUD waters. BE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THERE IS NO WATER ANYWHERE ON/IN YOUR BOAT, PADDLES, LIFE JACKETS, ETC. If the inspectors find any water on your equipment, you may be denied entry to the lake for that day. Arrive early to allow time for boat inspections. We will paddle southeast as far as we can, then reverse our direction and paddle into the lake. Pack a lunch and water, we will stop along the shore for a lunch break. There are bathrooms and picnic tables at the launch. PLEASE READ THIS: The organizers of this trip are not experts, not professional paddlers and do not necessarily have safety training or carry any safety equipment. Each paddler must have the training, experience and equipment required to complete this paddle safely, and must assume all personal risks. Learn How to Dragon Boat with KP Dragons

Our Sunday Meetups are for **first time or inexperienced** paddlers, and for experienced paddlers who wish to focus on refining their technique. All equipment is provided, but be sure to bring a water bottle and wear clothes you don't mind getting a little wet, and a ZipLoc bag for your keys/phone. In order to RSVP a spot on the boat, please be sure to fill out the following forms before coming out. This will help us with preparing boat seating and enable us to notify you in the event that practice gets cancelled due to weather conditions. Oakland Renegades Dragon Boat Team Meetup, Jack London Aquatic Center

Come join the Oakland Renegades Dragon Boat Team and try out the sport of dragon boating! Before practicing with us, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and it must be at least two weeks since the final vaccination. If you have COVID-19 symptoms or have been diagnosed with COVID-19, we ask that you not attend practice until you have a negative COVID-19 test, it has been 10 days since symptom onset, and at least 24 hours with no fever (without use of fever-reducing medication). You must obtain clearance from your doctor and the team leadership before returning to practice. You don't need to bring anything as we provide all the gear as well as instruction for beginners and more experienced paddlers alike. The first 3 times are free to give you a chance to see if dragon boating is for you. Dress appropriately for an outdoor sport that might include a little splashing. Don’t be put off by the limited signups shown here, we always have PLENTY of paddlers 😊 We are a Dragon boat racing team. Our aim is to have fun stay fit and win medals. We compete at local national and international races, and we hold weekly practices that are open to all. You don't need to become a member to come and try paddling with us! We welcome all new paddlers, so whether you are a total beginner or a seasoned Dragon boat team member, then come along and join us for any of our training sessions at the Grand Street boat ramp in Alameda every Saturday at 9:30 am. Or Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00pm. We provide the boat, paddles, Personal Floatation Devices (PFD's), Safety and training (all free of charge!)...and of course, the camaraderie that comes with being part of a 20 person team. Backpack in Spectacular Palisades Creek Trail

4 beautiful waterfalls! This is the Yosemite of Northern California without the crowds. After you RSVP. text 530-450-5768 to coordinate a call to discuss the trip, your experience, fitness etc. Please include your phone number and times that work for you for a call. We will meet at trailhead at Cascade Lake on 5/22 and camp there. On May 23rd we will backpack from the trailhead of Palisades Creek trail at Cascade Lake to the North Fork of the American River, 7 miles, all downhill and camp by a wonderful waterfall. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/palisades-creek-trail--2 (Note that there are two Palisades Creek trails. We are doing the one from that is all trail NOT the one that has scrambling. ) On May 24th we will enjoy the river and the waterfalls. We will camp another at beautiful waterfall one mile 500 gain above the river. On May 25th we will backpack out 6 miles and 2,000 gain.
