Walthamstow Wetlands walk, 4 miles

Walthamstow Wetlands walk, 4 miles

Sat, May 16, 11:00 AM
From Scenic London Walking Group
4.8

We will meet outside the Blackhorse tube station (Victoria line and Overground) and make our way to see the wetlands. * Walthamstow Wetlands is a 211-hectare nature reserve adjacent to the River Lea. The reservoirs, under the ownership of Thames Water, also form part of a larger Site of Metropolitan Importance for Nature Conservation, noted for the mixture of aquatic and terrestrial habitats on site, and for their London-wide importance (especially for birds). * We will finish our walk outside the Blackhorse tube station. Optional drinks/lunch at the end of the walk. What to bring: Comfortable footwear Water Photo-taking gadgets and chargers An umbrella just in case (it's London after all) The walk is free for members who have subscribed for an annual membership. For other members the fee is £5 cash/card on arrival to contribute towards the organiser's meetup fees and costs. The annual pass option is £15 payable by cash or card on the day. This will provide access to at least 40 walks per year (members are welcome to bring a guest to each event). All walks are free for the NHS staff (also welcome to bring a guest). **'No Show' Policy:** *If the member replied 'yes' but did not attend the event, did not update the RSVP and did not inform the organiser on 3 occasions – this triggers an automatic removal from the group. That's once for events with a waiting list.*

Saturday Supper Club & Games – Second Serve

Saturday Supper Club & Games – Second Serve

Sat, May 9, 6:00 PM
From Second Serve Social 🎾

Once a month, we slow things down. No courts. No rushing. Just good food, easy conversation, and a social that actually feels… social. This is the **Second Serve Supper Club** — a more relaxed, sit-down version of the group. *** ### 📍 Venue (Croydon / easy access) We rotate between: * Cosy restaurants with bookable tables * Private/semi-private dining spaces * Quiet venues where we can actually hear each other (Final location shared after approval) *** ### 🕒 Format (Monthly Saturday) * **6:30 – 7:15pm** → Arrivals + dinner orders * **7:15 – 8:15pm** → Dinner & natural conversation * **8:15 – 9:45pm** → Games + guided social * Wrap up on time — no dragging the night out *** ### 🎲 The Twist (What makes this different) This isn’t just “dinner and hope for the best.” We structure it lightly so it never gets awkward: * Small tables (4–6 people max) * Subtle **table rotations** (optional, not forced) * Simple games that spark conversation, not competition *** ### 💬 Conversation Style No cringe icebreakers. We use light prompts that are easy to answer and easy to build on. *** ### 👥 Who this is for * People who don’t want loud, chaotic nights * People who actually want to talk and connect * People who prefer structure over randomness *** ### ✅ Approval & Attendance * RSVP approval required * Limited seats (kept intentionally small) * Priority goes to consistent attendees 👉 If you RSVP, we expect you there (No-shows affect future approvals) *** ### 💷 Cost * Small organiser fee (covers hosting + setup) * Food/drinks paid individually at venue *** ### The vibe A proper social. Not loud. Not forced. Not endless. Just a good evening, done right.

From Offline Women
5.0

Join us for a special afternoon as we explore the world-famous **Hampton Court Palace Gardens** during their rare Open Days. The expansive gardens are open to visitors for free a few weekends each year. The [free open days](https://www.hrp.org.uk/hampton-court-palace/whats-on/hampton-court-gardens/) don’t include the maze or the children’s magic garden, nor the main palace itself. However, that still leaves enough ornamental garden to wander around and spend comfortably a few hours there. This is a dedicated, phone-free, quiet space where you can disconnect from digital distractions and reconnect with nature and each other. Join our warm community of women for an afternoon walk through the 60 acres of breathtaking royal grounds. We will spend our time wandering the manicured paths at a slow pace, taking in the fresh air and the historic views. It is a simple way to enjoy the palace grounds and engage in real conversation. We will have plenty of time to talk, share stories, and get to know one another without any digital interruptions. Leave the event feeling energized and refreshed, with a heart full of good conversation and the peaceful feeling of a walk spent in great company. Spots are limited to ensure the group remains small, intimate, and everyone has a great time connecting face-to-face.

☀️Offline Women Friday Sunset in the Park

Fri, May 15, 5:00 PM
From Offline Women
5.0

Join us for a screen-free Offline Women Sunset in the Park to enjoy the fresh air and end the week in nature. Close the laptop and trade the screen glare for the evening glow. This is a simple, tech-free space to decompress from the work week. We’re heading to Regent’s Park to just sit, hang out on the grass, and watch the sun go down. It’s the ultimate Friday reset, giving us a chance to reconnect with nature, other women and ourselves. We’ll meet at Queen Mary's Rose Gardens for a gentle wander through the flowers and the park. As the "Golden Hour" starts, we’ll find a peaceful spot to sit, chat, and watch the sky change. No pressure and no agenda, just fresh air and good company. While we meet at the Rose Garden every time, our final "sitting spot" will change, allowing us to experience different areas of the park together. Bring a blanket and some snacks if you like, or just show up as you are. Spots are limited to ensure the group remains small, intimate, and everyone has a great time connecting face-to-face.
