From Atheists Volunteer - Greater Los Angeles
4.9

If you believe community service is a critical part of giving back locally we hope you join us as we clean the 2 Freeway in Glendale! We work with CalTrans to leave a cleaner, most sustainable future for everyone that lives here. Come join our efforts! Atheists United is a community nonprofit that provides programming for Greater LA's million+ atheists and agnostics. We've proudly been hosting highway cleanups in Los Angeles for almost two decades. **What to wear:** Close-toed shoes, long pants, sunscreen or long sleeve shirt. Dress in layers because it can start out cold and warm up later in the morning. We'll provide bags, gloves, and grabbers so you won't have to bend over to pick up trash. Minimum age to participate is 16. **Lunch or Refreshments:** We'll pick a place for refreshments after the cleanup **How long:** The highway clean-up will take about 2 hours; plus an optional get-together for refreshments afterward. **How to find us:** We'll meet at the Holly exit, off of the 2 freeway in Glendale (See map). Call Steve if you can't find the group 310-686-8862. **RSVP:** Please remember to change your RSVP to "no" if you can't make it. This is a common courtesy. This is also important because we can't do the cleanup with only one person attending, for safety reasons. 🔻🔻🔻 This group is sponsored by Atheists United. I was initiated into Mrs. Takata-style Reiki by New York-based Reiki Master Pamela Miles. Reiki is a form of vibrational medicine - it comes through me as the practitioner, but I don’t direct it. It is deeply relaxing, very similar to a spa-like meditation experience. While you can expect me to hold your head, face and throat area at the beginning, I will hold my hands just above your body for all the other placements. For maximum relaxation you can lie on your back, but if you prefer, you can sit upright in a chair instead. **Teacher Bio:** Jacqueline Delibes is a HeartMath Certified Coach, artist, Reiki healer and healthcare writer for an academic medical center. Her work is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and offered with gratitude and sincerity. *Heal One World is a nonprofit dedicated to providingholistic preventative healthcare services and low or no cost—no one is turnedaway due to lack of funds. Join me for a restorative yoga flow. Using props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks, each pose is fully supported so the body can release tension without effort. Postures are held for extended periods, allowing the nervous system to slow down and shift into a state of rest and restoration. Don't miss out on some much needed zen.
