What we’re about
A COMMUNITY FOR ARTISTIC AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
Welcome New York to The Art of Photography! Our purpose is to spark creativity, open new doors, incite discussion and learn from each other in a positive and sharing environment. The basis of which is to facilitate the merging of the principles of art and graphic design with excellent camera craft. To take each one of us, no matter what level of experience, to places, levels and worlds that are out of our comfort zone. To grow, to see, to inspire unique visions. Our critique programs, our photo shoots and our educational sessions are free. Your submissions for discussion are for you to choose without regard to theme or genre.
The Art of Photography began as a museum art school program in 2002 and has expanded to over 15,000 members worldwide. So many of whom have grown into exceptional photographers that are hugely represented in international award shows. New York, we are truly excited for your participation and look forward to your development as Artistic and Creative Photographers. Be on the lookout for some very exciting photo shoots and presentations that will be posted on an on-going basis. Also join our International Site to check out over 250 albums created by our members. Thank you for your interest and good shooting.

- Join Us on Our Greenwich Village Photo Shoot (Saturday, August 2, 2025, 2:00 pm)Petite Boucherie, New York City, NY
Come join us for an exciting day of photography and have a really great time exploring the myriad photo ops in Greenwich Village.
Greenwich Village offers a rich setting for reflection photography, blending history, diversity, and urban charm. Storefront windows and bar glass reflect the colorful life of the street, while puddles and polished car surfaces capture layered views of iconic architecture. Reflections in the windows of historic buildings, like the Stonewall Inn, create powerful visual narratives that connect past and present. During the late afternoon, the low sun enhances these reflections, turning everyday scenes into vibrant, story-filled compositions.
