Urban Peak Dinner
This is a chance to help out young people in need -- and have fun in the kitchen together! Urban Peak ( is is a nonprofit organization that helps young people in the Denver area overcome homelessness and other real-life challenges to become self-reliant adults. The first Saturday of every month, we cook dinner for the teens at the Urban Peak youth shelter. (We could serve anywhere from 15 to 40 young people, depending on how cold it's going to be overnight and other factors.) We meet at Safeway at 4:00 to buy groceries. (Look for us in the front of the store. If you're running late or have trouble finding us, feel free to text or call Dan at[masked].) When the shopping is done, we drive to the shelter and start cooking. We serve dinner at 6:30pm. After all the young people have been served, assuming there is still food left (and there usually is), we serve ourselves and eat in the dining area with them. We're typically finished around 7:00 and go out on the town afterwards. Each volunteer is asked to contribute $20 for groceries. If you have a PayPal account, please pay online in advance: If you don't have a PayPal account or prefer not to pay online, just bring $20 in cash with you to the event. If you RSVP for this event, please treat it as a real commitment. We will be counting on your help!

    What we're about

This is the group for you if you are...

    in the 25-45 age range

    living in the Denver/Boulder area

interested in a community-based approach to meeting someone special

What does it mean to meet someone "the Denver way?" For the members of this group, it means meeting through mutual friends, group activities, and volunteer work. Searching directly for a romantic relationship can be frustrating, but if you keep meeting quality people, introducing them to your friends, and meeting theirs, good things will happen!

Life should be fun while you're looking. So we get together in large and small groups to take advantage of everything Denver has to offer -- hiking and camping, winter sports, museums, Red Rocks, the First Friday Art Walk, local bands, locally owned restaurants and brew pubs... and the list goes on. We also contribute to the larger Denver community through volunteer work, and we give newcomers to the city a place to connect. If you have positive values, care about others, and want to expand your social circle, we look forward to meeting you... the Denver way!
