What we’re about
If you always dreamed of dancing the night away in a beautiful ballroom, surrounded by people in elegant costumes, dancing to the music of a live band, The Gaskell Ball is the place to be. Come join us as we recreate the feel of of a formal Victorian ball.
The ball features elegant waltzes, energetic polkas, and dazzling attire, and is held in a lovely 1920s ballroom.

This is a class in the afternoon, before the Gaskell Ball, at the same location.
The class is $10, and will cover the Victorian Waltz, Congress of Vienna, Schottische, and more, as well as important bits of dance etiquette.
If you are not already a ballroom dancer, we highly recommend coming to the class. If you are a modern ballroom dancer, this class should be enough to make you comfortable dancing all the dances at the ball.
Most people attend the class in street clothes, changing after the class for the ball.
You will, of course, want your dance shoes for the class. Any shoe you can turn in, on a wooden floor will likely work. Avoid grippy athletic shoes, platforms and spike heels.
There are also opportunities to learn some of these dance before the ball at Friday Night Waltz, East Bay Waltz, and Peers Dance.
