What weβre about
π HELLO AND WELCOME TO THE HIDEOUT, THE MOST ACTIVE THRILLER, SCI-FI AND HORROR FILM CLUB IN LONDON MADE BY FANS FOR FANS.
In a nutshell, we are just a bunch of Die Hard Film Buffs, Filmmakers, Creators, Comic Book Nerds, Geeks, and Trekkies who are aficionados of Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Tim Burton, David Lynch, John Carpenter, James Cameron, Gene Roddenberry, H.P Lovecraft, you name it, who like to go out for drinks and watch movies. We also rate and review the films after we watch them and the results are posted on our Letterboxd Page.
We are avid supporters of Independent Cinema, The Film Festival Guild, Medicinema, Prince Charles Cinema and the British Film Institute. Thanks to this we sometimes gain special access and discounts to special events that we can then share with you. Plus we meet up regularly for a social to catch up again at the BFI which is a lot of fun.
We try to stay well informed when it comes to Film News, New Releases and Re-Releases and members are able to vote for the films they want to watch through our WhatsApp Group or Telegram Group which are available on request. We also have an alternative non invasive WhatsApp Channel and Telegram Channel for updates only.
Whatever the time of year we do our best to always be around, come and join us for a good time.

πͺ IN THE WORDS OF STEWART STAFFORD
Don't let the Devil hear you weeping or darkness comes as your friend. Paper cut, a blood pact union to steal away your purest soul.Hey guysπ Well, long story short, this is a psychological horror film directed by RackaRacka who are the Australian brothers Danny and Michael Philippou. You may remember them from Talk to Me. This will be their second major feature intended to be a departure from the style and themes of their previous work. While both films share some thematic similarities (like spiritual possession), Michael Philippou stated that this one explores the process of grief in a deeper way with a focus on a brother and sister uncovering a terrifying ritual at the home of their foster mother.
In the realm of hatred and anger, and other negative emotions, demons are the masters. So keep the faith and don't let them get the better of you. I'll update you later with the meetup details. Chat to you soon π

π« DON'T ASK ME TO BABYSIT YOUR KIDS, PLEASE π
I'm too afraid TBH, because even those purest hearts can be stained by the venom of falsehoods. In the courtroom of life, sometimes your innocence is the defendant against shadowy lies by those little angels that look so innocent.Alright guys π This is the reason why I never wanted to become a teacher. It seems that everybody is forever against you. You can't keep the school board happy, nor the parents, nor their lovely younglings that can never do no harm. Nope, not for me. I would never hear the end of it. I read somewhere that this mystery horror flick centres exactly on this. A town that grapples with the mysterious disappearance of 17 children from the same classroom overnight. It explores how the residents react to the missing children and the secrets that lie beneath the surface. The film is written and directed by actor/comedian Zach Cregger who also directed the 2022 to hit Barbarian. I don't think we'll be getting any laughs from him here.
Maybe this feeling of weirdness and attachment can be avoided when you set boundaries by just taking care of your own flock. Or am I being too selfish? I'll get back to you near the date with further meet-up details.
-----------------------------------------
π¬ PLOT DETAILS- When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance. Trailer

π½YEP, IT IS THE BLACK SHEEP
I like almost every entry in the series, but I'm also not in the group that prefers the more vulnerable and human Jason. The Final Chapter onwards is more my style. And Kane Hodder is my favourite Man Behind the Mask.Hello Everyone π Okay, I have to admit that Jason Takes Manhattan has been considered as one of the weaker entries, but I beg to differ. Not only am I openly admitting that this isn't bad at all, but it is one of my favourite entries in the series. In fact, I consider this to be the true Black Sheep of the franchise and the one that is the most misunderstood. As a young teenager it easily my favourite Friday with the added memory of my dad, sneaking me into the cinema! And as the years flew by, I noticed how many fans would rewatch Part VIII just so they could love to hate it, only to find out further down the line how much they really loved it. In contrast to other films that don't age well, this one's cult following just keeps on growing. This eighth and final instalment in the Paramount series was written and directed by Rob Hedden and it's a quirky mixed bag that deserves a chance in hell. I love this film, and I really want everyone to see it.
Yep, it's often cited as a film that is so bad that it's good but I will go further as to say it is awesome and an enjoyable watch for horror fans who really do appreciate that over-the-top, idiosyncratic and nonsensical fun. Checkout the schedule breakdown below:

FEAR IN BROAD DAYLIGHT
A brutal classic that proved horror doesnβt need the dark to be terrifying. Letβs unpack the horror masterpiece that carved its way into film history.Alright everyone π We're diving deep into the gritty, bloody heart of American horror. I'm talking about one of my favourite films inspired by the crimes of Ed Gein. This 1974 low-budget nightmare directed by Tobe Hooper redefined terror, shocked audiences, and gave us Leatherface, one of the most iconic horror villains ever. It was also banned in several countries including this one and yet it became one of the most influential horror films of all time. It made America afraid of rural gas stations forever and I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it before.
So letβs grab a drink, walk into the dark cinema and letβs crank up the fear factor as we are diving in blade-first. Check out the schedule below:
- 5:45 PM: Meet & Greet at The Prince Charles Cinema Bar.
- 6:15 PM: We move to Screen 1 where I have chosen seat A9 but you can choose where you feel more comfortable.
- 8:50 PM We reconvene at the bar to discuss and score the film and have drink. The results will be posted on Letterboxd.
- Don't forget that you can join our WhatsApp Group or Telegram Group, that are available at request. Or alternatively you can join non chat WhatsApp Channel or Telegram Channel for updates.
