1 DAY Film-jam No.109
This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you!
MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE.
If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc.
With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following:
1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank.
2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed)
3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film.
BUT
4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc.
Remember to bring:
1. You and your enthusiasm
2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever)
3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers
All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt!
The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize!
Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours.
Look forward to seeing you there!

🎺🎬 BLUE MOON
**🎷 This witty and heartbreaking chamber piece from screenwriter Robert Kaplow and director Richard Linklater tells the story of Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart just after his split from Richard Rodgers. He is played with campy brilliance, an unspeakable combover and fake smallness by Ethan Hawke.**
As part of the **legendary Broadway songwriting team** with composer Rodgers, Hart was responsible for **matchless numbers** like The Lady Is a Tramp, Manhattan, **My Funny Valentine** and of course **Blue Moon**. But exasperated with Hart’s alcoholism and unreliability, Rodgers broke with him and partnered with **Oscar Hammerstein II** to write Oklahoma! and then a raft of stage and screen smashes.
The film shifts neatly into a **robust portrait of friendship and rivalry** between these two giant talents: Hart eclipsed, Rodgers aware of his stature but gracious, and both **fiercely opinionated about their art form**.
We will meet for pre-drinks at the **Garden Cinema Bar** before heading to **Screen 1**. Feel free to choose your favourite seat. And, then we briefly reconvene one more time for a casual Letterboxd Review.
It will be a night at a classy cult cinema, good vibes and an independent movie.

**I look forward to seeing you guys there.**

Saturday Acting Workshop - OTHELLO!!

Saturday Tabletop Games at Premiere Cinemas
It's **Saturday** & our main night of the week & the fun & games are just getting started here at DWL!
We're located here in the Cinema (which can be found on the 3rd floor of the Mercury Mall Shopping Centre) on:
* **Tuesdays & Thursdays**: From 17:30 to 22:00.
* **Saturdays**: From 12:00 to 22:00
🦁 And we're still running every Monday 6pm to 11pm at the Golden Lion Pub too.
🌭☕ There are hot & cold food & drink options available from the cinema at low prices!
Supporting Premiere Cinema by buying their food & drink IS supporting Dicing With Life! The cinema has been very generous to us by bringing us into their space & our way of showing our gratitude is by sending some business their way.
And their menu is surprisingly cheap! Especially compared to any other cinema.
Here's some cool examples of some great **offers**:
Buy a large **Popcorn** (it's a huge bucket!) or a large **fizzy drink** & it'll initially cost you £4, BUT, take your bucket or cup back to the bar for a **refill** & the cinema will refill it back up to the top for just £2! 🍿🥤
That's half price Popcorn & Pop!
This also applies to **Ice Blasts** too (£5 initially but to refill it's just £3).
There's also Hot Dogs, Nachos, Pick n Mix & many other treats in store too! Check out their menu 😋
If you have any questions, please ask & let the fun commence! 🎲
