Live!Ammunition! Pitching Competition
Have you got a great idea for a movie?
The Live!Ammunition! pitching competition returns to Raindance.
Your chance to pitch your movie idea directly to a panel of film industry executives and the toughest critics of all, a Live Audience.
The people on our Panel are the people who matter. They decide what gets made.
Pitching skills are the one skill often overlooked by writers, directors and producers. Learn how it’s done by watching the rest. Hone your pitching skills by getting instant feedback. Your pitch could be taken up by one of our panel. Past Pitches that have gone into production include Meet The Parents (1994), 51st State (1995), Siamese Cop (1996) and White Bhaji (2001).
Registrations to pitch are taken on a first come, first served basis in reply to an email which will be sent at a predetermined time on the day of the event. There are twenty places guaranteed to pitch. Once the first 20 places have been filled we will keep a waiting list.
The demand to pitch is high and admission does not guarantee you a slot to pitch. However, we will accommodate as many pitches as possible and if you’re on the waiting list this does not necessarily mean you won’t get the opportunity.
Not ready to pitch? Then just come, watch, learn and network.
\*Verbal pitches only, no visuals

SHORT SHAKESPEARE - Masterclass with former Head of Acting at RADA
A two-hour practical workshop with Ellis Jones, former Head of Acting at RADA.
Obviously, your show-reel should demonstrate your range of acting skills - and this can include showing how well you handle Shakespeare. Now as we know, casting directors have a short attention span! However - several have said to us they'd welcome a reel including Shakespeare - as a 'yardstick' alongside scenes from modern scripts.
This workshop will help you create maximum impact within a short onscreen Shakespeare clip. Please come prepared with a carefully edited *one minute* extract from a monologue of your choice, or one chosen from a 'menu' of edited speeches which Ellis will send you as soon as you have applied to take part. The workshop will also provide an opportunity to share working on one of a choice short, edited 'two-hander' scenes - which again Ellis will supply in advance.
This is an opportunity to include a striking ‘classical’ element in your offer as serious professional performer.

0RDER IN THE COURT - JOIN US THIS MONDAY EVENING FOR A ACTING WORKSHOP TASTER! Team building with a difference - designed for anyone who’s completed an Acting for Beginners course (with Stage & the City or elsewhere) and wants to develop confidence, collaboration and creativity in a fresh, playful way.
We’re inviting you to join us this Monday for a fun, creative taster session, where you’ll dive into our brand‑new courtroom‑themed production Order in the Court. Expect bold characters, playful improvisation, and the chance to devise scenes collaboratively as part of a supportive ensemble.
This course gives participants the unique opportunity to perform in their own production, bonding as a company while shaping the show together under the guidance of Liam Reilly, our Head of Drama. It’s a brilliant way to stretch your skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of creating theatre as a team.
Find out more & reserve your taster place here: [https://tinyurl.com/mryatf72](https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Ftinyurl.com%2Fmryatf72%3Ffbclid%3DIwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAYnJpZBEwRDFTa1BMTXVvSzNRcU1hV3NydGMGYXBwX2lkEDIyMjAzOTE3ODgyMDA4OTIAAR4Z0nnYN3A_qK0IGI5U0YBKbCe-yr79FsyNdd5U_YB8LVJVPtoO3Ab7AFM_tQ_aem_CykFp9cpg_sTUlH_zqEn6Q&h=AT1T8J-t7xhoDKPwAXlFG86RFws1-PNAh6l66Z3KsdagFi4W7RihecwhUmp7xT9i39YNWZa8cixPlo9GGfhddGj1cawNOzd4n9DO3h9CFggndl8Lv9ghSl76foVQkRiRs00Au64FZCNsCjpyOWKxUGznn5l3Ow&__tn__=-UK-R&c%5B0%5D=AT1s9J3XxXpSoqoajsXqHovVf1MPL3wh3MIVa6nUvHm2HyoSwOG83FPK38Y-zL8uLSnmFzY71VM8LjrTptbEKfc0KTN8lEGnxH-To98z_ULikNWezrbnyS4qMV8AgftkegW6XC42SwKI5OniYn7LRbYVvUQvX9GIUyM4-KwquGm4hg4myLQ)

London Bridge Writers' Group - Pub Meet
**The Talbot Room at the George Inn**
The George provides the room free of charge (they are awesome), and we encourage you to purchase drinks (and food – the burgers are great!). As it’s a pub and not a picnic area, please don’t consume your own food and drink there.
We usually meet in the Talbot room which is on the top floor on the left hand side of the pub as viewed from the courtyard. If lost please send a message here shortly before the meeting starts.
**We are sorry to say that there is no step-free access to the Talbot room, and it is at the end of three flights of stairs.**
**Format**
We start at 7pm and run until 9pm. We hear approximately six readings of 10 minutes (\~2000 words), then discuss the piece for 10 minutes. Email your work to: london60transmitter@emailitin.com as an attachment (It must be an attachment). A link for access to googledocs will be given at the start of each session to enable people to read along, which in turn enables more considered feedback. Work submitted will be automatically deleted after 10 days. We decide on readers/pieces at the beginning of each session.
**Safe and respectful space**
The group is run by volunteers, and we don’t have the capacity to read submitted work in advance. If there is anything in your work that might distress or disturb some readers, for example concerning any kind of abuse, please give a trigger warning before you read. Be specific and concise. If it becomes apparent during a reading that a piece is inappropriate, the moderator will stop the reading. In discussing others’ work, please be mindful of how you express yourself and do not use discriminatory language, even if such language features in the piece.

⏳🎬 MERCY
***🧑⚖️ If the future means swapping out judges for hot AI, well, let’s just say we might end up screwed in more ways than one!***
👋 **Hey guys** so if the future means we get judged by gorgeous AI instead of grumpy old judges, we might be in for some hot trouble! In other words, **Mercy** might just prove that getting a fair trial in the near future is going to come with a whole new level of eye candy and probably a lot more confusion!”
So just to fill you in: the movie is directed by **Timur Bekmambetov**—yep, the guy behind **[Wanted](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edpEspHOeVU)** and **[Night Watch](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWQ2_0HBucw)**—and it’s set in a futuristic Los Angeles. The gist is that **Chris Pratt’s** character has to prove his innocence to an AI judge, played by **Rebecca Ferguson.** If you’re into a mix of sci-fi twists and a little courtroom drama, this one sounds like a lot of fun.
We're keeping this one laid-back and easygoing—think of it as a **chill social film review**. We’ll lock in the exact details closer to the date, so keep an eye on this page for updates.
For now, just keep in mind that swapping out human judges for AI is still more sci-fi than reality—at least for now—thanks to a whole bunch of ethical puzzles. But hey, it could still happen someday soon, so be very afraid… or at least very amused! LOL.
**See you guys at the meet up!**

Memento
A Must See movie by Christopher Nolan!
How can you reconstruct the past if you can't remember it? Leonard Shelby, an amnesiac, must do precisely that but so do we as viewers because much of the movie is told backwards. Nolan uses every cinematic trick in the book to help us see things as Shelby sees it. Widely acclaimed, we hope you will too!

Shut Up & Write!® Easton Town Center
We'll meet at The Capital One Café, 167 Easton Town Center, Space A-103. This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator.
Join us on Sunday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking!
• What we'll do
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at noon on Sundays.
Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done.
SCHEDULE:
12:00 - quick intros.
12:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour.
1:10 - chat / take off / keep writing.
OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 1-1:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing.
BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session. If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer.
Happy writing and I look forward to seeing you!
• What to bring
Whatever you need to be able to write!
Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block noise or the occasional conversation by other patrons. Electrical outlets are limited, so charge your devices before whenever possible.
See you at The Café on Sunday!
