Touch and Move: Kontakt improvisieren, Community schaffen
**Touch and Move: Improvising Contact, creating Community**
with ***Jochen Kleres and/or Zahiro Ji***
for **GBTQ men\***
**[BOOK A TICKET!](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/touch-and-move/w24-2026)**
**Member: 10 €**
**Non Member: 15 €**
This is a class for GBTQ men\* with all levels of experience, from total newbies to advanced.
We meet and begin by checking in with each other, followed by a guided exploration moving from somatic practice to contact dance improvisation. This all culminates in opening the space for the free flow of dancing and explorations in duos, trios and as a group. Bodywork will help us to warm down at the end and integrate what we experienced.
Dance is our way to create a space for exploration: what happens when queer men’s bodies meet and get in touch without any expectations and intentions?
In Contact Improvisation, touch is the source of finding dance movements. It helps you to be open to the here and now, to surprises, to letting go of performing roles, meeting expectations, and following scripts.
Any movement can be part of this dance, no matter how simple – we literally move any way we feel. This creates a conversation without words, simply through our moving bodies. Feeling ourselves by sensing others can create nourishing bonds of community as much as it liberates us. We emphasise consensus, respect, diversity of people and energies, listening, and a non-judgmental space.
**General Information**
• Wear comfortable clothes.
• We’ll speak English and/or German, depending on the needs of the group.
• This event is one of two free events included each month in the membership programme.
🔵

This edition of Queer Bridges Meet-up combines two collective experiences around expression, reflection, and care. The evening begins with a soft collective singing and sound exploration guided by Carlos Braile, followed by an interactive conversation facilitated by Nikki Germeys on queer club culture, reflecting on topics such as consent, dancefloor etiquette, raving, and community care. The gathering ends with an open space to socialize and connect informally.
Queer Bridges Meet-up is a community gathering to meet new people, connect, and build queer communities together.
This edition brings together two collective experiences centered around expression, reflection, and care. We begin with a soft collective singing and sound exploration guided by Carlos Braile, inviting participants to connect through breath, rhythm, improvisation, and body awareness. No previous singing or musical experience is needed.
The second part features an interactive conversation on the unspoken etiquette of clubbing and queer nightlife culture, facilitated by Nikki Germeys. Together, we will reflect on topics such as consent, cruising, respect on the dancefloor, community care, etc.
Through open discussion and shared experiences, the gathering aims to collectively imagine more mindful, inclusive, and joyful queer spaces, ending with an informal moment to socialize and connect.
**Queer Bridges: Forging connections and providing resources for LGBTQIA+ people with experiences of migration and/or displacement.**
Queer people with experiences of migration and/or displacement in Berlin often face unique challenges in their daily lives that can limit their access to supportive communities and inclusive environments.

Watercolour Workshop for Beginners
If you’re curious about painting plants but don’t know where to start—or you’ve tried a few tutorials and want to understand watercolour finally—this beginner-friendly Botanical Watercolour class is for you 🌿
**In this one-day workshop,** we’ll explore the foundations of watercolour through the beauty of leaves, stems, and simple botanical forms.
We’ll begin by learning essential techniques like wet-on-wet, layering washes, colour mixing, and transparency—everything you need to bring plants to life on paper.
Then, we’ll move into painting: using real botanical references and carefully selected examples, you’ll practise translating natural shapes into soft, expressive watercolour studies. You’ll learn how to simplify forms, observe details, and build confidence with every brushstroke.
This is a relaxed, supportive space to experiment, ask questions, and enjoy the process alongside other beginners.
No experience needed—just curiosity and a love for nature 🌱

We will visit Stralsund, a wonderful city by the Baltic sea 💒🏘️ 🌊(its old city center is also UNESCO world heritage).
We take the RE3 train that stops at Berlin Hbf at 07,43 AM🚉😀 and arrives to Stralsund at 10,51 AM
The train does not stop only in Hbf: I attach below the screenshots with the stations and the timetable 🕐
Get on in the station you prefer, but take that train 🚉
The train is a direct train and takeable with DE Ticket 😁
Bring your own food🍔 and drinks🥤.
Breaks ⛔: We will take 2 breaks during the day, one in the City Center and one during the Hike at the Devin Halbinsel
Plan and info ℹ️:
* We arrive at 10,51 at Stralsund
* We walk through the city touching places such as Weiße Brücken, Marienkirche, Alter Markt square, Kniepertor, Nordmole and the harbor area
* We take the bus at Stralsund, Wasserstraße at 14,10, direction Devin (in the worst case we divide in 2 groups taking 2 different buses)
* We Make this Hike of 7.2kms along the Baltic Sea: https://www.komoot.com/tour/2850057845
* We take the bus at 18,05 to come back to Stralsund Hbf
* At Stralsund Hbf area we have time to eat/rink something, and then take the train to come back at 19,10
NOTE: the above plan can slightly vary in time (but we should have enough time to be flexible, since we take the train early in the morning)
I do not provide a "personal support" for people who do not take the indicated train.
You are responsible to check for the weather and decide if come or not.
Thanks for understanding.
If you have to contact me, make it via Whatsapp, not here on Meetup.

2 day hike: Witches on the Rocks - advanced hike through the Harz; 15+25 km
Let's do another **two day hike** through the Harz mountains!
**Important info - please read it now:**
* This is a non-commercial event. You are responsible by yourself to research and book your accommodation in the area. You are bearing the complete risk (bad weather, etc).
* After signing up for this event, please immediately research accommodation and book it. When you have booked accommodation, please send me a private message containing the place where you are staying. If I do not get a message within 36 hours of signing up, I need to presume that you are not coming. I will then need to remove you from the participants to make room for other interested people.
* We will stay at the village **Schierke.** At the moment, there are still a number of accomodation options, but accomodation is limited.
* For transportation, having a Deutschlandticket is certainly the most recommendable and most economical option.
* **This is an advanced hike. You should wear proper hiking shoes and have a certain surefootedness. On day 1, we will walk between 15 and 20 km and have to manage an elevation gain of 820 meters. On day 2, we will walk between 21 and 24 km and have to manage an elevation gain of 750 meters. Expect that you need to climb over fallen trees and rocks. At some points, you might need to use your hands to stabilize your steps.**
**Itinerary**
**Day 1: Saturday, June, 13th**
* 07:05 Departure with HBX train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof station (stops also at Ostbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Hauptbahnhof, Zoo, Wannsee, Potsdam)
* 10:17 Arrival at Wernigerode
* 10:40 Historic steam train from Wernigerode to Steinerne Renne
* 10:58 Start of our hike. We will see the Renneklippen, the Steinerne Renne waterfall, the Waldgasthaus Steinerne Renne, the Ottofels, the Leistenklippe and the Eulenstieg on that day. Optionally, at the end of our hike, if we did not already reach our personal Elendstal (valley of misery), we can walk through the geographical one.
* We will arrive at Schierke between 16:00 and 18:00.
**Day 2: Sunday, June, 14th**
* 9:30 Start of our hike at Schierke. We will walk up the Eckerlochstieg to the peak of the Brocken. At 1141 meters, this is the highest elevation in northern Germany. From there, we will descend north-wards. We will come by the small but many Ilse waterfalls.
* After around 21 km, we will reach Ilsenburg, where we can refresh and have dinner.
* Depending on our speed or mood, we will take the train back to Berlin at 18:30, 19:30 or 20:30. The train ride back to Berlin takes roughly 3.5 hours.
**Accomodation**
I cannot give any recommendations on good places to stay. Yet, to facilitate your research, here are a couple of possible places in Schierke:

Feel free to use the comments to search for fellow hikers which might want to share apartments with you. However do not wait too long with booking, as options might go away.

Please note that outside alcohol is not permitted, but the vineyard offers a wonderful selection of wines available for purchase.
This is a wonderful chance to relax, take in the scenic views, and connect with the group.

Beaverdam Reservoir Park & Lark Brewing Co.
We will be hiking the loop trail, (counter clockwise) around the BeaverDam Reservoir starting at the brand new Reservoir Park VisitorsCenter. Beautiful views of the water and varied woodland areas. This is an 7.5 MILE loop hike around one of Northern Virginia's largest bodies of water. The loop is mainly flat with a tiny hill or two. I've rated the loop moderate because the distance is 7.5 miles and we will be hiking about 22 minutes per mile - just under 3 miles per hour.
After the hike we'll head over to Lark Brewing.
24205 James Monroe Hwy,
Aldie, VA 20105
for food and beverages.
I will make every effort for your safety. You are hiking at your own risk. Dogs are welcome on the hike as long as they are good with groups, friendly and you follow all leash laws. I like kids but this is an adult event so please no kids or any one under 21.
We do start on time so please plan accordingly. Meet in front of the bathrooms by the parking lot.

We got rained out on Memorial day - so let's try this again on July 4th weekend!
The Mount Rogers/Grayson Highlands loop hike is an iconic section of the Appalachian Trail, located in the southwestern hills of Virginia within the Jefferson National Forest.
This region is best known for its vast mountain views and alpine peaks with **wild ponies** roaming about. This area is also home to Virginia's highest point, Mount Rogers, sitting at 5,729'. This is a premier east-coast backpacking destination, so don't miss this one.

**Trail Details:**
We will meet at The Vienna Metro station on Friday morning at 8am and drive to the Mt Rogers Trailhead (off Rt 603). This parking lot is **NOT** the paid lot near Masie Gap, and so can fill up. I'd like to try to get there as early as possible.
The drive is about 5 hours. I will drive and am happy to have others carpool with me - but please note, I will have my small black labrador in the back seat.
**Day 1**
After we park, we will hike about 7 miles to our campsite, diverting once to summit Mt Rogers. There arent any views here, but it's worth the .3 miles to say you've been to the highest point in VA! We will camp on the first night at the scenic tent sites near the Thomas Knob Shelter on the AT. There is water at this site and we may see wild ponies if we're lucky.
**Day 2**
The second day is about 10.7 miles, which includes spectacular views, unique rock formations and wide open grassy meadows. We will camp near the Old Orchard Shelter. There is a spring with water at this site as well.
**Day 3**
The third day will be a short 3.5 mile hike from camp back to the cars. Getting to the cars early will mean that we should get back to DC around 4-5pm. On the drive home, I plan to stop at Martin's in downtown Roanoke (413 1st St SW, Roanoke, VA 24011).
