London Indoor Bouldering Evening
London Indoor Bouldering Evening
Join OutdoorLads popular weekly Thursday Bouldering evening at The Arch in Bermondsey. OutdoorLads London boulderers welcome all members of the LGBTQ+ community You'll be meeting with a supportive group of 5 to 10 plus boulderers who are always happy to introduce complete beginners or solve difficult bouldering problems with enthusiasts. We usually follow up with a pub visit. This event is for members of all levels of experience and all are welcome to come along to any of the sessions. Bouldering is a form of climbing where instead of long high routes, the 'problems', as they are referred to, tend to be shorter and focus on technique, balance, body positioning and sometimes power. Because of this different emphasis, bouldering doesn't have the hassle of climbing with ropes, harnesses and belaying, which makes the activities excellent for newcomers to the sport. If you're a seasoned climber you won't need convincing about the benefits of bouldering, but for those who've never climbed more than a staircase, the benefits are wide ranging: from the physical - improved strength, tone, balance, power and coordination; mental - problem solving, focus, concentration and body awareness; to the emotional - relaxation, a sense of achievement and a feeling that mind and body are working together perfectly ('feeling psyched'). On top of all this, bouldering tends to be a very social sport where you can hang out with mates and each have a go as you feel regardless of what level you climb at.
Dulwich Park Nordic Walking
Dulwich Park Nordic Walking
Ready to get outside? Our Thursday morning session in Dulwich park is back! At this moment we can meet with up to 30 people (of more than two households) to do outdoor exercise and walks. However, i like to keep our exercise groups small, so I have set the maximum participants at 12. For now this walk is for our experienced Nordic Walkers only, who already used to Nordic Walk with us regularly before Covid 19 kept us indoors, and who have their own Nordic Walking poles. As this session is outdoors, we will not ask you to wear a face mask, but we do ask you to keep 2 meters apart. Some of our walkers might be immune compromised or more at risk, so please help us keep everyone safe! Please do not come to the session and stay at home if: - you know you have been in contact - in the last 2 weeks- with someone with symptoms of possible Covid, or if you have been in contact with someone who tested positive. - you have any of the following symptoms: (new) Loss of smell/taste, Persistent cough, Fatigue, Loss of appetite, Skin rash, Hives, Fever, Severe muscle pain, Shortness of breath, Diarrhoea, Delirium, Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Hoarse voice, Eye soreness, Sore or painful throat, Nausea or vomiting, Headache, Dizziness or light headedness We meet by the cafe in the middle of the park. Session Price: £10 per session, £89 for a 10-session card or £70 unlimited sessions per month. Session cards and pay Monthly can be used in any of our outdoor walks or indoor Zoom classes sessions (except for the Parkinson's sessions). Pay What Works: The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us. In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes. Then send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”- followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off. Pllease do tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly. I prefer payment by bank transfer, but if that is not possible you could pay in cash. No cheques please, the queues by the banks are just too long. We walk in all safe weather conditions – if a walk is cancelled, we will contact you to let you know. Please check for text messages or Meetup messages before leaving home!
Peckham Hangout - Meet New Friends !
Peckham Hangout - Meet New Friends !
✨ Peckham Arches & Levels ✨ 📍 Peckham Arches📍 ⏰ 18:30 ⏰ We’re going for £4 pints in Peckham, stating at Peckham Arches and going on to the rooftop at Peckham Levels 🎉 No booking required at all - just turn up and say hello 😊 Please join our whatsapp group to stay informed of all the latest with regards to our events on the day and going forward: [https://chat.whatsapp.com/Dxcmw5sdjOq5RegETO0hS3](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Dxcmw5sdjOq5RegETO0hS3) **What is all this?** This is a fun enterprise set up purely for the purposes of bringing new people together and having a good time. Our meet-ups are for everyone - all inclusive and welcoming! Our events will follow no particular theme - variety is the spice of life after all - and we'll try to keep a nice mix of different accessible options. **Can I come alone?** Of course!! That's nerve-racking for some but a huge number of our participants come alone and feel equally uncertain about it. The hardest part is only ever the activation energy required to ask that first question or two. **Is there any cost?** We are not making a penny from any of this - It's all done for the pure thrill of the thing itself and with the belief that the monetisation of a fun project is a sure-fire way to suck the joy out of it! We will be selecting some activities that will be ticketed events, but it will simply be up to you to book in if you want to come! **Do I need to sign up?** Usually no! Just show up - but just check the detail of the event above to be sure.

🎟️ Sunday 28th June - Girly Aerial Yoga & Catch Up - Ealing
🎟️ Sunday 28th June - Girly Aerial Yoga & Catch Up - Ealing
Let’s be real... Sunday wine nights are great, but we wanted to switch things up a bit. We've hired out a private aerial yoga studio for an hour of hanging upside down and then heading straight out for drinks to debrief. If you are currently thinking, *"I have zero core strength and can barely touch my toes"* —please don't worry, this is exactly for you. This session is entirely zero-pressure. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or your idea of stretching is reaching for your phone, you are so welcome. It’s honestly just about having a laugh, trying something new, and hanging out. ### 🧘‍♀️ What actually is Aerial Yoga? If you’re picturing Cirque du Soleil, don't stress. Aerial yoga just means we swap traditional yoga mats for soft, silk hammocks suspended from the ceiling. It feels a bit like a mix between playing on the swings as a kid and relaxing in a cozy cocoon. The hammock supports your body weight, which takes all the pressure off your joints. It means you can do deep stretches, fun beginner tricks, and even hang completely upside down with surprisingly little effort because the silk does the heavy lifting. We'll end the session wrapped up in the hammocks for a deeply calming *shavasana*. ### 🎀 The Setup For **£30**, we’ve got the class and the gym facilities completely sorted. * **The Class:** A 1-hour private session led by our amazing teacher, Eva. Expect super easy beginner tricks, a fun soundtrack, and a lot of giggling. * **The Facilities:** Your ticket includes full use of the gym's premium changing rooms. We get access to the hot sauna to melt out our muscles, luxury showers, and fresh towels for everyone. *(You do not need a gym membership for this, we have access).* * **The After-Party:** Once we're all showered and refreshed, we'll walk over to **Teatro** to grab drinks and catch up. *(Drinks at Teatro are just pay-as-you-go).* ### 📍 The Details * **Date:** Sunday 28th June * **Time:** Arrive at **4:45 PM** sharp so we can get into the studio for a 5:00 PM start. * **Location:** Gymbox Ealing Broadway * **Price:** £30 * **Capacity:** Our private studio only has 10 hammocks, meaning there are **just 9 spaces available**. It's super intimate, so it's just first come, first served. ### ⚠️ What to bring & prep * **The Fit:** Long leggings and a long-sleeved top are highly advised. The silks are great, but they can cause friction on bare skin, so comfort is key. * **Hydration:** Please make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day. * **Health & Safety:** Just listen to your body and go at your own pace. If you have any medical conditions, blood pressure concerns, or injuries, just run it by your doctor and let Eva know before we start. **Drop a message to grab one of the 9 spots. Can't wait to fly (and drink wine) with you all! ✨**
Strawberry Farm the forest way 15 miles
Strawberry Farm the forest way 15 miles
Strawberry Farm has a barn cafe and farm shop with ready picked fruit and vegetables, chutneys and jam etc . In June the farmer says: "If you love strawberries, it’s time to come down to the farm! 🍓🍓🍓Whilst we will have strawberries available through to September, they really are abundant right now and taste amazing 😋" Hatfield Forest is the best preserved remnant of the Medieval Royal Hunting Forest where only kings in the Middle Ages could roam. This route to the farm makes the most of the forest, passing its lake, Shell House and National Trust cafe. King Harold would stay in Hatfield Broad Oak when hunting nearby. The impressive church dates back to the priory founded in 1139, a few ruins of which remain nearby. On a hot and thirsty day the sister village of Hatfield Heath offers a refreshing afternoon stop beside the village green, and village cricket to please the eye. Their 1st XI are taking on Essendon, so give them a cheer 🏏 TRAVEL: Take the 9.48 train from Tottenham Hale to BISHOP'S STORTFORD. Walk starts 10.15 from Bishop's Stortford station where the organizer will meet the group. Walk ends at Sawbridgeworth railway station. A day return to Bishop's Stortford from Tottenham Hale is £13.40 (£12.85 if you buy a single each way) with a Network Card or Groupsave. You can catch the train from Liverpool Street at 9.36 however this increases the fare to £18.50. *How to join?* * The walk is entirely free of charge; * You only arrange for your own travel and pub expenses; * Understand our terms and conditions below (the "IMPORTANT" part); * Understand how to stay safe outdoors, as you will be responsible for yourself. See our quick safety tips: http://www.meetup.com/Free-Outdoor-Trips-From-London/about/ Feel free to ask any questions in the comments section! IMPORTANT Please bear in mind this is a free of charge, self-guided trip with a hobby group. It is not organized by a business nor any entity with commercial purposes. Any trip details, travel advice, route planning, instructions and other content in our group merely represent our shared personal knowledge, research and suggestions as outdoor enthusiasts. As this is no business, there is no "product", "service" or "package" and also no "tour guide", "operator" or "walk leader". Each participant is responsible for their own safety. Even if some of us are very experienced walking outdoors, nobody assumes responsibility for any kind of injury, damage or loss that may happen. Despite this, we take extreme precautions and all trips we plan are very safe, fun, highly educational and popular. Our experienced members volunteer their time and effort to shape a pleasant and quality adventure for everyone :-) By participating you acknowledge and agree with this disclaimer. Here are our tips on staying safe during outdoor trips: http://www.meetup.com/Free-Outdoor-Trips-From-London/about/ TRAVEL, ACCOMMODATION, INSURANCE Although we provide detailed suggestions, each participant is expected to arrange their own travel and (if required) accommodation - this gives everyone the freedom and choice to join from wherever they want and stay wherever they want. Anyone interested in travel or outdoor insurance should also arrange this on their own. As mentioned above we always take extreme precautions, but some people may still feel safer if covered. We advise not to buy tickets until the day. People getting tickets from the same station are encouraged to meet early on the day to benefit from discounts such as GroupSave.
