Collective Meditation in Toronto
Join Us for Collective Meditation & Satsang – Exploring Karma 🌿
When: Saturday, February 21 | 12–2 PM
Where: 509 Bloor Street West, 2nd Floor
Entrance: Free & Open to All
✨ What to Expect:
• Restorative yoga for alignment & balance
• Devotional singing and chanting
• Silent meditation
• Spiritual discussion on Karma, Life, Death & Destiny
💫 Inspiration for Our Gathering:
“You must not do actions that will bind you, but you must not be averse to action either. Perform your duty—your karma. Is your karma in harmony with surrender (prapatti), or is it opposed to it? The teachings of Vraja Kṛṣṇa are fully aligned with prapatti. His life, His actions, the music of His flute, the way He attracts and shelters others—all are in perfect harmony with surrender. One feels truly free after offering everything to the Supreme.
Krsna reminds us: ‘Perform your karma, for you have an inalienable right to action.’
-‘You are human. Regard karma as an expression of the Supreme Reality and engage in it wholeheartedly.’”

This tour debuted on September 5, 2020! Six years of storytelling!
Toronto is a city of stories.
It's also a city constantly reinventing and learning about itself. It has been for the last 300 years. The people of Toronto are the storytellers, and throughout its history, women have been at the forefront of change.
Like Elizabeth Neufeld, Hester How, Mary Pickford, or Clara Martin stories that have shaped Toronto. Stories that have shaped the lives of people in Toronto today.
Explore the lives of ordinary women of Toronto who have made extraordinary impacts on our lives. From the death and destruction of war to the magic of Hollywood, these women created their own endings. But for many in our city today these names and many others are forgotten, their accomplishments dusted over and buried in the mists of time, but not for long. These courageous Torontonians created one lasting story to be told: Their story!
Toronto is a city of meaning and hidden stories indeed. Mary Pickford, the first great screen Hollywood star looks into the camera above. Born on University Avenue near College Street, she rewrote the Hollywood story and put Toronto on the film map.
This walk is for all fitness levels.
The meeting place for this important walking adventure is the Barbara Ann Scott Ice Trail behind College Park at the southwest corner of Yonge Street and College Street. We end our walk at the park adjacent to St. Lawrence Hall.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person!

The Ninth Floor: Black History Month Film Screening and Fireside Chat
Join EnRoute 2 Success, in partnership with Brampton Library, for a Black History Month screening of The Ninth Floor, followed by a panel.
*The Ninth Floor* documents a pivotal moment in Canadian history. In 1969, Caribbean students at Sir George Williams University in Montreal were targeted and criminalized after raising concerns of racial discrimination. The film captures both the events themselves and the lasting impact they left behind.
Following the screening, participants are invited to stay for a Fireside Chat. The conversation will include voices from the community and will reflect on the role of systemic racism in the events depicted and how those patterns continue to appear today.
**Event Details:**

Kundalini Activation Process by Tracey • with Halotherapy • Sat Feb 21st at 1PM
**KAP × Halotherapy at the Salt Palace**
A deeply nourishing experience where **[Kundalini Activation Process® (KAP)](https://www.kapacademy.com/)** meets the gentle, purifying medicine of **halotherapy**.
Held within the serene, salt-infused sanctuary of the Salt Palace, this offering invites you into a state of deep regulation, presence, and inner remembrance. The combination of energetic activation and salt therapy creates a uniquely supportive field—one that allows the body to soften, the nervous system to unwind, and the soul to reconnect with its natural rhythm.
Past gatherings in this space have been described as grounding, expansive, and profoundly restorative. Many participants leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected—to themselves, their breath, and their inner truth.
***This is not something you “do.”***
***It is something you allow.***
During the session, you will lie down comfortably while I facilitate the Kundalini Activation Process®. The salt-rich air gently supports respiratory health and cellular cleansing, while the energetic transmission supports the body’s innate intelligence to move, release, and recalibrate in its own way.
### **This experience may support:**
* Energetic activation and awakening
* Nervous system regulation and emotional release
* Deep states of presence, stillness, and self-awareness
* Respiratory nourishment and cellular cleansing through halotherapy
No prior experience with KAP or energy work is required. Each session unfolds uniquely, guided by your body and nervous system.
If you feel a quiet resonance with this offering, trust it. That subtle pull is often the beginning of remembrance.
Spaces are intentionally limited to preserve the integrity of the energetic container.

**Halotherapy with Heart and Healing**
Imagine stepping into a serene sanctuary, where the air feels alive with healing energy. Here, your breath deepens, your thoughts quiet, and your spirit feels held. This is the gift of **halotherapy**—a gentle, natural practice that nurtures you from the inside out.
Our KAP session takes this powerful experience further by guiding you into *inner awareness* within the unique environment of a salt room. It’s a union of energies you may not have encountered before, as I’ve yet to find another KAP session facilitated in such a nourishing space.
The salt room becomes both grounding and expansive—a place where physical healing and spiritual connection intertwine. It’s not just ***[Kundalini Activation Process](https://www.kapacademy.com/)***[®](https://www.kapacademy.com/) ***[(KAP)](https://www.kapacademy.com/)***; it’s ***KAP elevated***, supported by the ancient wisdom of salt therapy.

**4️⃣** Deep Relaxation **– The salt room’s tranquil ambiance melts away stress and hushes the noise of anxious thoughts, wrapping you in soothing calm.**
**5️⃣** Lung Support **– Feel the salt work to expel mucus and impurities, rejuvenating your lung health and making every breath a refreshing gift.**
**6️⃣** Deeper Sleep **– Leave the salt room recharged yet serene, making restful, replenishing sleep come effortlessly.**

♾️♾️
**[Kundalini Activation Process® (KAP)](https://www.kapacademy.com/)** is a powerful and life-changing experience that helps you unlock your true potential. Imagine going on a deep adventure within yourself, finding hidden treasures of your personality and abilities that you didn't know existed. With KAP, you learn to light up the energy inside you and connect with the life force present in all living things. This process guides you to break free from old habits and beliefs that have been holding you back, allowing you to live in new and fulfilling ways.
KAP is the ***path of surrender***, it's about letting go rather than trying harder, different from practices like kundalini yoga, tantra, or chi gong. Energy moves from the top of your head down to your base, clearing blockages and healing old wounds on its way.
In this session, you'll receive a "***double transmission***" - a powerful mix of Kundalini energy and non-dual consciousness. This fusion will enliven your life force energy, revitalizing your body, mind, and energy flow. Simultaneously, your awareness will expand into the realm of non-duality, enriching your perception of the unity of all beings.
**HOW IS THE SESSION?**
I invite you to find a cozy spot to lie down on a yoga mat, where you can fully sink into this experience. Once you're settled, I'll start playing some specially chosen music that helps your brain relax more deeply.
During our time together, I'll focus on your energy centers, also known as chakras, and specific meridian points on your body. My goal is to use gentle touch and light pressure to help clear any energy blocks and support your overall well-being. Rest assured, the pressure will always be soft and comfortable to ensure you feel safe and at ease throughout our session.
**WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING A SESSION?**
Walking into a KAP session, you leave the outside world behind. What happens next is nothing short of amazing.
**Energetic Vibes**: While you're lying down, you might start feeling a powerful energy moving through you. It's like an electric wave that fills you up, making every part of you come alive.
**Visual Adventures**: Your inner sight, or "third eye," wakes up, and suddenly, you're seeing vivid images, colors, and maybe even going on visual journeys to places beyond your wildest dreams.
**A Rollercoaster of Emotions**: It's normal to feel a whole spectrum of emotions during the session. You might feel anger, sadness, fear, happiness, or even burst into laughter. The magic happens when you allow yourself to fully experience these emotions without holding back.
**Unexpected Movements**: You might find your body moving in ways you didn't plan, like stretching, shaking, or even striking a yoga pose. Listen to what your body wants to do without overthinking it. You may feel tension build up and then release, leaving you in a state of deep relaxation.
**Blissful Moments**: There's a chance you'll reach a bliss state, where you're completely in the moment, feeling a deep sense of joy and satisfaction. It's tough to put this feeling into words, but it's unforgettable once you've felt it.
**DISCOVER THE BENEFITS OF KAP**

[In-person] Curiosity Café: Paying Attention
Attention is as curious as it is multifaceted. It has been called [a currency](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I4WkhG_GRM&ab_channel=TEDxTalks "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I4WkhG_GRM&ab_channel=TEDxTalks"), the lack of it has been [pathologized](https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/adhd/what-is-adhd "https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/adhd/what-is-adhd"), and its span has [apparently been decreasing](https://www.apa.org/news/podcasts/speaking-of-psychology/attention-spans "https://www.apa.org/news/podcasts/speaking-of-psychology/attention-spans"). But what *is* attention, and what does it share with what are often understood as its synonyms, like ‘focus’, ‘concentration’, and ‘awareness’? What role does it play in our lives and why might we feel like its nature and extent have been changing with rapid technological innovation and the pace of modern life?
The phrase ‘pay attention’ is perhaps more appropriate today than ever. Nowadays, if you watch a YouTube video, scroll through Instagram, or even walk down a busy street in your city, chances are you’ll see an ad. Our attention, however brief, is quite literally *paying* companies who sell our attention to marketing departments. Why is our attention so valuable? How much control do we have when it comes to the object(s) of our attention? How much responsibility do we have over what we pay attention to?
Join us at our next Revisited Curiosity Cafe on Sunday, February 22nd, where we will engage in a collaborative exploration of the nature and extent of our attention and why attention is more valuable today than ever.
**Space is limited!** **Please obtain a “Pay-What-You-Can” ticket from Curiosity Café at [this link (click here)](https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/curiosity-cafe-revisited-paying-attention-tickets-1982649061715) to attend this event. You need a ticket to be admitted.** See the above link for more info about tickets and other options including a limited number of free tickets. Come and hang out with us, grab food, and read through our handout from 2-2:30pm. Our structured discussion will run from 2:30-4:30pm with a 10 minute break in the middle.
Hope to see you there!

First it was **Ambrose Small** and my team of brilliant detectives who tried to figure it all out. The walkers on this tour just about cracked the case. Well done my detectives. But your smarts are needed again however. The Harley Karulis Detective Agency needs your help! And this one needs all our brain power to figure out. This one might be the toughest assignment yet.
Here is your case file. The details you will need to get started on this walking tour.
A case that shocked Torontonians when it occurred in late October of 1933, and still reverberates to this day. A cold case solved, not by a long shot. No one really knows the entire story or the truth. It unfolds like an Agatha Christie novel as you will see.
The details of this case culminates in one of the most perplexing, head scratching crimes in the history of this city and very few have heard of the sad life and end of little Alfreda Dolores Mae Hillier.
Little Bunty as they called her was born in 1932, and was the apple of her parent's eyes. Her father Alfred Hillier was a World War 1 hero, and had fallen on bad times during the depression years. He just started a new job recently. Her mother Florence was a stay at home mom and loved to play and watch her little girl out the window of their small home on Boothroyd Avenue in Leslieville.
On a cool, sunny October afternoon at the height of the depression, Alfreda, an 18 month old girl disappeared after heading out for a walk alone. Sounds on the level I must say. Warning bells!
Within a few hours questions as to what happened to this little girl started to swirl around the neighbourhood. All details of this case are taken directly from the archives of the Toronto Star and the city which paint a rather confused story culminating in the arrest of two young boys, one age 4 and the other 7 who admitted their guilt. Or was coerced into that same confession?
Let's toss in a few more details to cloud the story however:
1) a convicted criminal in the area, information told to the Calgary Hearld the day after she was found dead.
2) another man who seemed to be present when she was found and then wandered off and disappeared from the police investigation file.
3) the testimony of two underaged children that had no relevance to some of the details.
4) the coroner's report which contradicted just about everything the police came up with and witnesses testimony as well.
This walking tour/game takes participants back in time to 1933 and explores the many sites associated with the tragic death of Alfreda Hillier, and the personalities involved. You will be introduced to 10 historic characters and each has their own dark secrets, it will be up to you to render a **verdict**! Are you up for it detectives?
Our walk begins at the **Jones Branch of the Toronto Public Library** at the southwest corner of Jones Avenue and Dundas Street East in Leslieville just a few blocks north of Queen Street East.
This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person. Please get your tickets early if you would like to attend.

Philosophy of Friendship: What are the bases of "friendship"?
As you may or may not know--I didn't until late last year--Aristotle wrote extensively on "friendship" in the Nicomachean Ethics. After 69 years the concept of friendship still creates questions and uncertainty. I had close friends in high school and for a few years after high school but our interests diverged and people moved all over the country so it was hard to maintain connections.
* So if I/you haven't talked with a friend for several years, are you still friends? Are we friends who meet at Drunken Philosophy or Omnipresent Atheists?
* Can you be friends with someone with whom you have virulently divergent political views? Sartre and Camus could not.
* Aristotle regarded friendship as essential to a good life, not merely an added "bonus." Do you agree?
* In the Nicomachean Ethics (Books VIII and IX), he claims that wealth and power are meaningless without friends. Trump has wealth and power but seems to have no real friends, but wealth and power seem meaningful to him in perverted ways. Can you have meaning in your life without friends?
* Do men and women view and maintain friendships in different ways?
* Aristotle categorizes friendship into three types, based on what forms the bond:
* **Utility**: Based on mutual benefit, but this type is fragile and ends when the usefulness ceases.
* **Pleasure**: Based on shared enjoyment (e.g., humor, hobbies). Common among youth but fades as interests change.
* **Virtue (The "Complete" Friendship)**: Based on mutual respect for each other's character and goodness. You wish good for the other for their sake, not yours.
* **Key Principles of "True" (Virtuous) Friendship:**
* **Permanence**: Virtuous friendships last a lifetime whereas those based on utility and pleasure are fleeting.
* **Reciprocity**: Requires mutual goodwill; secret or unreciprocated affection does not qualify.
* **The "Second Self"**: A true friend is "another self"—their virtue helps you understand and improve yourself.
* **Time and Intimacy**: Deep ("complete") friendships are few, built on time and shared experiences.
* **Self-Love and Friendship:**
* Good friendship starts with being a friend to yourself.
* They distinguish shallow egoism (chasing honors) from real self-love (pursuing virtue).
* A virtuous person’s pleasant self-company allows them to be a stable, good friend to others.
* Aristotle argues that one's social circle ultimately reflects one's character—a view with striking relevance today. Well--the Drunken Philosophy social circle certainly reflects good character!

We are excited to host Guided Meditations on Sundays at 6 pm in our Ashram/Gallery/Home! !! !!
Everyone wants to know what kind of God we worship and what kind of meditation we do. We worship the GOD that LOVES US! We understand that god is an energy and it lives in us as us. Our meditations guide others to actually experience that energy! xoxo We don't just talk about peace, love and affection, we experience it :)
Also we are a home not a business, so we enjoy building community one friend at a time. We always build in time for people to mingle & develop friendships! xoxo Much Love, Frank Tennyson
Namaste, Frank Tennyson
