🦇🎬 VAMPIRE'S KISS (4K Q&A PREMIERE)
***🧛 Seduction. Romance. Murder. The things one does for love!***
👋 **Hey Everyone!** Let’s meet up for Thursday night drinks and the **UK premiere** of the hilarious (so I hear) new **4K restoration** of **Vampire’s Kiss** starring **Nicolas Cage**. The screening will be taking place at one of my favourite spots, the **Prince Charles Cinema**, and will also include an **exclusive** **Q&A** with director **Robert Bierman**.
The movie itself is a unique yuppie-comedy-horror that predates American Psycho by many years and follows a narcissistic New York literary agent, as he descends into madness. After a one-night stand with a mysterious woman who bites his neck, he becomes convinced he is transforming into a vampire.
**The plan** is to meet beforehand at the **Victory House Wine Bar** for a little vampire chit-chat before heading over to the cinema next door, where there’s another fun bar to hang out. The film will be playing in **Screen 1**, where you’ll find me in seat **D6** in case you’d like to sit in the same row.
**Afterward**, we’ll regroup one more time for a little **[Letterboxd](https://letterboxd.com/movieroadhouse/)** **review** and **post-film discussion** before heading home. You can find a **full schedule breakdown and addresses below**. It should be a really fun night out.
Until then, I’m looking forward to seeing you guys there!
**Your buddy,**
**Matt 🦇**

1 DAY Film-jam No.124
This event will be for people to meet, go off and film, come back and enjoy the results. Whatever you want to do, be it film, act, direct or even just sort of hang around at the back then this is the event for you!
MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE NATIONAL THEATRE.
If you are wondering what this group can provide for you, it’s above all else friendship with other like minded people, whether you are a screenwriter, director, cameraperson, actor etc etc.
With that in mind, on Saturday we will do the following:
1. We’ll meet at the National Theatre on Southbank.
2. We’ll split into two groups (or more if needed)
3. Each team will try and beat the other teams to a pub in EC1 in London and edit (maybe) the film.
BUT
4. Each team must make a 2 minute 30 seconds film on the way with a beginning middle and end, a solid story arc for the main character, etc.
Remember to bring:
1. You and your enthusiasm
2. A camera (iPhones dslrs whatever)
3. Someone willing to do an edit after we arrive back at the on their computers
All teams will then meet-up at a pub in EC1 and watch what we have filmed, happy with what they have learnt!
The first team that finishes gets a Small Prize!
Hopefully then, you will stick around to have a great time chatting about film, meeting new people, and forgetting about work until the late hours.
Look forward to seeing you there!

Jules and Jim, the Book!
By popular demand, the group wanted to read and discuss the semi-autobiographical novel by Henri-Pierre Roche, that inspired the Truffaut movie we watched last year.
The book is available through the Columbus Library's interlibrary loan system. They reported there are twenty-eight copies available in the state of Ohio. If you have a library card, you can file an interlibrary loan request here: https://www.columbuslibrary.org/library-services/ . There are also used copies available on Amazon and eBay for under twenty dollars.
You may want to rewatch the movie after reading the book, so we can compare and contrast in our discussion. The Columbus Library has four copies on DVD, and it's streaming on HBOMax.
Columbus Museum of Art, Free Admission Sundays
Let’s meet and wander the galleries! General admission on Sundays is free.
THE BEAST/ La Bête (2023)
In the year 2044, in the age of AI, a woman named Gabrielle (Seydoux) tries to purify her DNA by purging the inherited memories of her past lives. She (re)lives her life in 1910 Paris and 2014 Los Angeles, and as the procedure goes on, the lines between her worlds become blurred. These three timelines have a lot of connective tissue holding them together; certain symbols and motifs appear repeatedly, not to mention Mackay’s Louis, a figure whom Gabrielle seems drawn to in each lifetime.
