While we do aim to play seriously and challenge ourselves, the focus is more on growth and enjoyment than simply winning at all costs. That’s why the title doesn’t include “competitive” or “social”—we want a healthy mix of both. We do expect a mindset geared toward learning and getting better over time. That said, this event isn’t intended for total beginners; an understanding of the game is expected so that everyone can contribute to meaningful and engaging matches. The host holds the right to remove you from the game if they believe that you are at a C level (absolute beginner). See the group description for rules, guidelines, and payment info (cost is $10). Remember to cancel your registration if you find you can't make it to an event to which you RSVP'd. The code to access the gym will be sent to people who have registered shortly before the event. The code should be entered at the second door (furthest from Whitehaven Street) at the building opposite the main entrance of the school. There is limited on-site surface-level parking available, as well as street parking around the facility. The underground parking lot off Whitehaven Street costs $5 an hour. As always, participation in the volleyball is undertaken at the participant's own risk. The British International School, the sponsoring organization Virtuous Volleyball Inc., as well as the event organizer, are not liable for any injuries sustained in the course of participating, nor for any theft or damage to personal belongings.

Open play up to 18 people, all skill levels. Bring your friends or potential new members, bring a BBQ, (we have a lot of BBQ’s over the summer) your dog and cat, your good times and your laughter too.

Friendly game. No slide tackling, rough play, or coaching. Bring a white and dark colored shirt. Ideally we will play 10 vs. 10 on half the field, but will split into multiple games if we have numbers.

This is a social volleyball which means as long as you played volleyball before and can keep some rally going you can attend. The point is to practice being a team player, have fun, be social, and make friends. We should try to have 2 passes before sending the ball over on most plays.
