Mega Disco Bowling June
Mega Disco Bowling June
10 bowling lanes, disco music, snacks and shots! And a lot of fun people on this annual event! A fun evening full of oooohh's and aaahhh’s and this is why: https://youtu.be/9Usnkt4mEvM It’s all about having fun, so don’t worry if this is your first or second time playing. We will help you and we always cheer every player to victory so everyone has a great experience. We will play bowling and have snacks, and free shots for everyone in your lane if… you throw a strike on the right moment in the game. Pls be aware - paid event - read all information! I reserved 10 lanes for 2 hrs, so we play from 22.00 - 00.00. Since I have to pay in advance I ask everyone that joins to pay their part as well in advance. If you join the list for this event, please transfer 20 euros when I sent you the tikkie or make someone on the waiting list happy by giving your spot to him or her. I will sent a tikkie or publish it in the comments. Your spot is only confirmed after payment. No pay. No play. Please note that there is no refund for cancellation, since I have reserved bowlinglanes and have to pay full price wheter we are with 10 people or 3 people. In case you can't make it, I suggest you find someone to take your spot and he or she pays you the money back. If someone on the waiting list takes your spot then a refund is possible. If someone takes your place, pls let me know in advance. Pls be on time. We start bowling at 10 pm sharp. So be there at least 30 minutes early since u need to change shoes and maybe want to get a drink at the bar. After the bowling we usually go to a café in the city for drinks but if u feel like going home this is ofcourse also okay.
Queer Family Hang Out!
Queer Family Hang Out!
Calling all Queer Families! Kinship Commons is hosting our first Queer family hang out! *Pride Month seems like a great time to find your people.* A casual space to meet other queer / trans families - who get it. Let the kids play, build community alongside each other or just rest and snack. Come for a little while or stay for the whole time. Come as you are or bring a snack to share. 20 June @ 2pm In an effort to keep us safe - Send a DM for location Official Language: English All ages and stages of family welcome! Happy Pride! ***Caring Community Agreements:*** *Kinship Commons gatherings are BIPOC centered, queer-affirming, family-friendly, community spaces built around care, mutual respect, and shared responsibility for the space.* *Many people who come to these spaces are navigating stress, burnout, grief, trauma, parenting, isolation, or major life transitions. We try to create spaces where people can arrive as they are, without needing to perform or explain themselves.* **Consent:** Please ask before hugging, touching, picking up children, taking photos, or sharing someone else’s story. No is a complete sentence. **Children:** Children are welcome in this space and are at the center of our ecosystem. We understand that children make noise, move around, and have big feelings - these are all normal ways to be a growing human. Adults are responsible for their own children, and as a community, we approach all children with patience and care rather than discipline or correction unless safety is involved. At one of our events, if you see a caregiver on their own with children that needs support, please offer a helping hand. **Photos and Social Media:** Please ask before taking photos that include other people or their children. Not everyone is safe being online. **Stepping Away:** You are always welcome to step outside, sit quietly, leave early, arrive late, or take space. You do not need to explain. **Food:** We come from many cultures and backgrounds where food is often the centerpiece of connection in community space. If food is shared, please label common allergens. People are welcome to bring their own separate food if they have dietary needs. **Access:** We try to choose spaces that are close to public transport + parking, accessible for strollers, mobility aids, and different body needs when possible. If you have a specific access need, please reach out ahead of time so we can meet your needs. **Conflict and Harm:** Community spaces are not perfect and misunderstandings happen. We approach conflict slowly, with conversation, curiosity and care, rather than public calling out or shaming. Accountability and repair are part of community. **Shared Responsibility:** This space exists because people help make it exist. This might look like helping set up, cleaning up, bringing snacks, sharing skills, checking in on someone, or simply showing up regularly. You are welcome here whether you are outgoing or quiet, whether you know many people or no one, whether you come once a year or every week. There are many ways to belong to a community.

Midsummer Gathering - For Druids, Witches and Friends
Midsummer Gathering - For Druids, Witches and Friends
Gather together to peacefully celebrate the peak of the year on Midsummer's Eve. The time when bees are humming through the avenue of sweet Linden blossom, in this beautiful city park. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Bring something to sit on. Hopefully it won't rain, but dress for the weather. Please bring your own food and drink. This is a free event. The plan is to gather and sit for a picnic and simple ritual, under the biggest Linden trees, in the first field, entering the park from the main Middenweg entrance. That's the one closest to Huize Frankendael / Restaurant Merkelbach. There are 6 entrances to this park.. It will be light until late but some people travel a long way to the gatherings, so we will be aiming for 18:00 - 20:00. There will be a simple ritual during the gathering, to celebrate nature at the Summer Solstice, and to promote peace and safety throughout the world. *NB: This is an outdoor gathering - the restaurant nearby may be open when we gather, but otherwise, the closest toilet facilities are on the Middenweg at local bars (about 5 minutes walk away).* Hope to see you there! Contact Lynn with any questions - What's app or Signal 0627596930 or email info@greencitywitch.com Free - All welcome - See note about what to bring Your host: Lynn Shore is a herbalist, [urban foraging teacher](http://www.urban-herbology.org/), practicing green witch and is an OBOD Druid. She is the author of *[The Green City Witch ](http://www.greencitywitch.com/)*and leads seasonal gatherings 8 times a year, to celebrate the turning Wheel of the Year.

Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Drunken Philosophy: Where Is Everybody? The Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy, a casual, curious, social discussion club. Come grab a drink and a seat at The Oracle. **Optional topic for this meetup: Where is everybody?** In 1950 the physicist Enrico Fermi was talking about aliens over lunch and asked a question that still has not gone away: if the universe is so vast and so old, and even a fraction of those billions of stars have planets, where is everyone? By the numbers the galaxy should be crowded with civilizations. Instead we look up and hear silence. That gap between "they should be everywhere" and "we see no one" is the Fermi Paradox. One of the most unsettling answers is the idea of a **Great Filter**: somewhere on the road from dead chemistry to a galaxy-spanning civilization, there is at least one step that is almost impossible to get past. Maybe the filter is behind us. Maybe life starting at all, or simple cells becoming complex, or intelligence ever evolving, is the freak accident, and we already cleared the hard part. Or maybe the filter is ahead of us, and advanced civilizations reliably wipe themselves out before they spread. Here is the part that messes with people. If we ever found life somewhere else, even pond scum on Mars, most people would call it the greatest discovery in history. But it might be the worst possible news. It would mean life is common, the early steps are easy, and the hard step is still in front of us. So the eerie silence overhead might actually be the best sign we could ask for. **Questions to wrestle with:** * Is it better to be alone? Would you rather we find alien life and learn we are not special, or find nothing and quietly improve our odds of surviving? * Where do you bet the filter sits, behind us or ahead of us, and why? * If it is ahead of us, what is it? Nuclear war, climate collapse, AI, something we cannot even picture yet? And can we do anything about a filter we cannot see coming? * Two principles pull opposite ways here. The principle of mediocrity (the Copernican principle, Sagan's "no privileged place in the universe") says we are ordinary, so what happened on Earth probably happened everywhere, which makes the silence scream louder. The anthropic principle says of course we find ourselves somewhere life was possible, since we could not observe anything else, so our being here may say almost nothing about how common life is. Which lens do you trust, and does the silence still demand an answer once you account for observer selection? * And if we did confirm life out there and had to accept we are not special, what would that do to belief in a higher power, and would shedding (or keeping) that belief help or hurt our odds of pulling together as one species? * Does any of this change how you live, or how humanity should be spending its time and money right now? As always the prompt is optional. Come for the conversation, stay for the drinks, and bring your own questions.
