Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Hampstead Heath Spiritual Gathering & Walk
Our 42nd Spiritual Creatives gathering - in person! Come and join us for a lovely walk and talk around Hampstead Heath. We are meeting just outside Hampstead Heath station (London Overground train) at 11.00 on Sunday the 29th of March. Please note: This is NOT Hampstead Station on the Northern Line! It is the Hampstead HEATH station. The Google link is here: [https://goo.gl/maps/AJCNoxkKNj6K9Gp77](https://goo.gl/maps/AJCNoxkKNj6K9Gp77) We will wait for people to arrive until 11.15am and then we will begin walking. If you arrive later, you will only be able to catch up with us at Kenwood House approximately between 12 and 12.30pm. You should be able to find us sitting around as a group having a drink. If the weather permits, you'll find us outside the main café, towards the back. Look for the guy with the multicoloured scarf... that's me! After a short break of 20-30 minutes, we then walk back through the Heath, taking the long way round to Parliament Hill, and conclude our stroll back to Hampstead Heath overground station around 2 to 2.30pm. (Please note that you may become so involved in your conversations that you end up losing sight of the main group! Unfortunately, there is no way for you to catch up with us once we have become separated (and we do NOT check our phones for texts or messages during our walk) so please be mindful and conscious to stay with the main group if you want to keep up. Also please bear in mind that Hampstead Heath can be muddy sometimes, so please wear the appropriate shoes). After returning to Hampstead Heath Overground station, many of our (usually hungry) members like to continue the camaraderie over lunch at one of the local cafés or restaurants. As our group has grown over the years, these gatherings can be quite large, so we usually have to split into smaller parties and explore different venues. Some of our favourite spots are Dominique’s Café (dominiquescafe.co.uk) and Silverberries (silverberry.net), both of which offer a welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. It’s a great way to wind down the walk and continue our conversations. Spiritual Creatives is a warm-hearted and popular meetup group, as you can see from our ratings and comments! We hope to meet you then! :-) Best wishes Cliff P.S. we ask for a small £3 donation to help cover our Meetup.com membership, but please bear in mind that we are not able to offer refunds if a place is booked but not used. **Find out more about us at [https://www.spiritualarts.org.uk](https://www.spiritualarts.org.uk/).**

CATHARSIS in Creative Writing + Food, Drinks, a FREE Book & a Pub Quiz!
YOU CAN BOOK YOUR SPOT HERE: https://www.writeandpint.com/events/catharsis-how-to-achieve-emotional-revelation-and-release-in-creative-writing-food-drinks-a-free-book-a-pub-quiz ... Hello there! WHOEVER you are, you’re warmly invited to join us for a full-day creative writing workshop ✍️ with food & drink 🍴☕🍷, literary handouts 📖, and a bit of fun thrown in for good measure 🎉 Together, we’ll be exploring **Catharsis in Writing**: how stories, poems, and personal reflections can help us feel, release, and understand emotion. Over the course of the day, we’ll focus on **three key pathways to catharsis**: 1. **Interpersonal conflict** – tension between characters or people that is resolved, giving emotional release. 2. **Against-all-odds achievement** – following a protagonist (or yourself) through struggle toward success or triumph. 3. **Grief and letting go** – confronting loss and finding a sense of closure or understanding. Throughout the day, we’ll work with poetry, prose, memoir, hybrid forms, and even playful fragments, reading widely, writing freely, and following curiosity wherever it leads. By the end of the day, you’ll leave with new writing, ideas sparked, drafts begun, and plenty to keep working with long after the workshop ends. **What’s the plan? 🗓️** * **Start the day with teas/coffees ☕** and a gentle warm-up writing session ✍️ * **Break for brunch 🥐** at the Reliance Pub * **Settle into reading, discussion, and supported exploration**, experimenting with the three catharsis pathways 💬 * **Wind down with a late afternoon/early evening drink 🍺🍷🥤** * **Finish with a mini pub quiz 🧠🍻** purely for fun **When:** Saturday 28th March, 11am – 5pm **What’s included? 🎁** * A full day of creative writing workshops & exercises ✨ * Tea or coffee to start ☕ * A Reliance Pub brunch platter 🥗 * A late-afternoon/early-evening drink 🍻 * Thoughtful literary handouts 📄 * A little pub quiz 🧠🍻 for fun **What do you need to bring? 🎒** * Yourself 🙌 * A pen & pad 🖊️📓 (or a laptop 💻 if you prefer) **Our style 🌱** We create a friendly, supportive, and inclusive atmosphere 💜 Everybody is welcome — no experience necessary 🌈 No pressure to share or perform 🙅‍♂️ You can take part quietly, actively, or anywhere in between. If you have questions, feel free to text me on 📱 +44 (0) 7534 981 636 and I’ll do my best to help. Warm wishes 🌞, Sean A Write & a Pint
Hackney Writing Circle Thursday 26th March
Hackney Writing Circle Thursday 26th March
The MILDMAY CLUB, Newington Green Hackney based publisher, Indie Novella, are hosting a monthly in-person Writing Group in Stoke Newington, London. This is open for anyone working on a novel who is looking for a supportive group to provide advice and help to take it forward, be it if you’re struggling with writer’s block or you’re looking to submit to a literary agent and want to bounce around some ideas. The format will be in two parts. The first hour will be led by Indie Novella editor and author, Damien Mosley, focusing on a specific writing related topic. The first week at the Mildmay Club this will be the challenges of structuring our novel and we can discuss issues we face regarding plotting or where to begin or share examples which inspire us. The second hour each month will be dedicated to peer reviewing a sample of our writing. Authors Rose Diell and John McMenemie spoke of the importance of Writing Circles in helping writers develop at Stoke Newington Literary Festival and as such we hope this monthly space will allow writers to convene and share their experiences. Those interested please do come along. We do review one of the group's work each month and we can add you to the email list if you email [info@indienovella.co.uk](mailto:info@indienovella.co.uk).

Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Shut Up & Write! Kingsdale Shopping Center
Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times. Feel free to message me privately wth any questions and/ or concerns you may have. Happy writing!
