The natural blend of art and science poured into the brewing scene inspired him to take up the craft. Working alongside brewers in Oregon and Colorado, Mark honed his own artisan beer recipes. An old friend looking to start a brewpub and music hall back in Charlottesville eventually lured Mark back to Virginia. In September 1999, they partnered to found Starr Hill Brewery out of a passion for great beer and live music. Named after the local neighborhood, the brewery shared its original space with the Starr Hill Music Hall. Park in the last parking lot. After you turn into the parking lot, make an immediate right and park (across from the purple recycling bin). We meet there prior to the ride. All riders joining this ride will need to accept the standard MORE liability waiver form. **Wheels down at 6:45pm** Ride will be about 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the group. The ride leader(s) will try to start as promptly as possible. Bring: Trail-ready mountain bike, helmet, tube, and water. Optional: Tools, gloves, snacks, and lights. We will need lights this time of year. Pace Casual to moderate pace depending on the group. This is a no-drop ride. (A drop is leaving someone behind who is slower than the group. We won't do that - but if you feel like you are not able to keep up, please let the ride leader know.) Chapter 3 outlines selfless action, telling us that we should perform duty without attachment to the results, surrender our fruits to the Divine, and avoid inaction. Chapter 6 gives us more technical motivation on the advantages of meditation, controlling the mind,and self realization. Through these texts we should be able to think about the nature of ourselves and actions, and discuss why we do the things we do, and the concept of a “soul”. We can also discuss experiences with mediation, controlling the mind (controlling emotions), and if anyone feels self realized. With “The Story of Shvetaketu” we follow a young man who is taught by his father that knowledge is more than just what we learn intellectually, rather it is about gaining understanding of the essence of existence. Here we get to explore fun philosophical concepts about what learning and knowledge truly is. Ultimately, these texts challenge us to think about our agency by finding a sense of self-worth that exists independently of external notions of success or validation.

Title: Quantum Computing for Business (Exploring Opportunities Available Today) Date: June 27 2026 Saturday Noon - 14:00 EDT Summary: Big media reports that current quantum computers are not able to attack business problems at scale. In Ron's experience, this is only about 95% true. He has found that certain types of quantum computers, specifically quantum annealers, are very good at solving constraint based optimization problems at business scale. This presentation will answer the question “What is quantum computing?” by comparing quantum computers to classical computers and describing the various types of quantum qubits. Ron 'll introduce what quantum computers can be used for and what they shouldn't be used for. Next, Ron will look at a number of quantum computing use cases that are currently available to businesses today. Finally, Ron ’ll present conclusions with a brief discussion of future hardware. There will be time for Q & A. Speaker: Ron has been fortunate to have worked in a broad range of technical disciplines during his career. Areas in which he developed expertise and innovative results include, digital hardware design, silicon functional architecture (chips), computer language compiler development, and medical software. Ron has recently immersed himself in quantum computing technologies and has obtained more than a dozen certificates across the quantum spectrum. These technologies include various hardware platforms, numerous quantum programming frameworks and quantum sensors. As a co-founder and CQTO of B2Quantum, Inc, Ron has served as a quantum computing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a large pharma company. As a SME, he performed quantum computing use case analysis, strategic planning, budget guidance and risk analysis. Outside of the technical arena, Ron is a licensed pilot, certified open water SCUBA diver, bicyclist, wood worker and a once in a while artist.

Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure.
