**Talk:** BigConfig: The First Agentic Package Manager
In this talk, Alberto and Valery introduce BigConfig, an open‑source Clojure/Babashka infrastructure package manager built for agentic workflows. The session shows why higher-level, composable packages are needed instead of raw Terraform, Ansible, Helm, or YAML. It also demonstrates how natural-language plans are turned into auditable bb.edn configurations and deployable infrastructure packages.
Alberto is a Berlin-based engineer with a background in DevOps, Data, and AI. He previously helped scale the data platforms at Zalando and OneFootball.
Valery Lavrentiev is a Berlin-based AI/ML engineer who played a key role in building the OneFootball personalization engine.
**Speaker:** Saeid Mirzaeiaraghi - Senior Software Engineer at Cluster Reply
(https://www.linkedin.com/in/saeid-mirzaei/)
**Title:** Agentic Documentation with GitHub Copilot
Learn how GitHub Copilot transforms codebases into living documentation using AI-driven workflows for architecture, APIs, and onboarding. Designing APIs & Building Contextual Chatbots | Data Engineering Meetup
Two talks. One evening. Plenty of ideas to take home. We’re ready to kick things off for another Berlin Meetup, and are happy to present the speakers of the evening:
**[Jens Wriske](https://www.linkedin.com/in/jens-wriske-8b538a397/):** ***"Designing APIs on top of Data Platforms using Databricks"***
Modern data platforms increasingly follow a lakehouse architecture, where data remains owned and governed by domain teams rather than application developers. This session explores how APIs can be designed on top of Azure Databricks to provide access to heterogeneous data sources without duplicating or owning the underlying storage layer.
**[Tanuj Jain](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tanuj-jain-10/): *"The Story Behind the Story: "Building a Contextual News Chatbot."***
Most news readers lack the background to fully engage with the stories they encounter. This talk walks through the development of a chatbot embedded in a news article page for a German news publisher, designed to give readers on-demand context about what they're reading. We share the key technical and product decisions made along the way, and what we learned about building an AI feature that sits at the intersection of editorial and user experience.

0.1% Accurate- English Comedy Night
**Step right up for a fortune-telling experience that's barely accurate, but definitely unforgettable.**
Magdalena, the "fortune teller", combines a crystal ball, questionable predictions and a healthy dose of dark humour in a show that's as absurd as it is entertaining.

Some say it's life-changing, others call it pure nonsense-but no one escapes without a few laughs, some spirit summoning and answers you probably didn't want.

Reserve your seat for just €2, and at the end of the show, you decide what it was worth (suggested contribution: €10-15). Reservations are held until 10 minutes before the show starts. This is a paid show—you just get to choose how much to pay.

**Title:** Al for Precision Medicine: From Foundation Models to Tumor Tissue Profiling in Computational Pathology
📅 **Date:** 24.06.2026
🕕 **Time:** 18:00
📍 **Location:** TU Berlin Marchstrasse 23 [Room 0.011]

The session will last around 2 hours, followed by a networking session with dida and fellow AI enthusiasts (and free pizza!🍕). Bring your laptop!
**Abstract:** Nearly every cancer diagnosis still begins with a pathologist examining a stained tissue slide under a microscope. Digital pathology turns those slides into gigapixel images — and with them, a uniquely demanding frontier for machine learning. But getting from raw pixels to clinically meaningful, quantitative insight about a tumor and its microenvironment is far from trivial.
In this workshop, Aignostics — a computational pathology company and Charité spin-off — walks you along the arc from core ML research to real-world application. We start with an overview of digital pathology and what makes it challenging for ML (gigapixel images, scarce labels, scanner and staining variability). We then look at how pathology foundation models are built and what separates a good one from a fragile one — not just accuracy, but robustness to non-biological artifacts — with a short hands-on segment. Finally, we put these models to work: with Atlas H&E-TME we profile the tumor microenvironment from routine H&E slides, and you'll get hands-on with OpenTME — an open dataset of TME profiles across five cancer types from TCGA — and TME Studio to run your own analyses.

AI Agents 101: How to Make ChatGPT Do Actual Work
Most people still use AI like a search box: type one question, get one answer, repeat.
But the next step is AI agents: systems that can take a goal, break it into steps, use tools, remember context, and produce useful work for a human to review.
In this beginner-friendly session, we’ll demystify what AI agents actually are — without hype or jargon. We’ll walk through practical examples of how agents can help with research, planning, writing, coding, operations, and personal productivity.
We’ll cover:
* What makes an AI “agent” instead of just a chatbot
* How agents break tasks into steps
* Where agents are genuinely useful today
* Where they fail, hallucinate, or need human review
* How to design simple AI workflows for your own work
* A live demo of an AI agent-style workflow from start to finish
No coding experience required. This is for anyone who wants to understand where AI tools are going and how to use them more effectively right now.
LOGISTICS AND PARKING:
The talk starts at 7:00 PM. The first half hour is reserved for everyone to get set up and mingle. Free pizza and drinks!
The cheapest parking option is to find street parking, which will only cost you a few bucks. Otherwise, park in the nearby veteran's museum lot for $8. It's highly recommended you avoid the nearby $15 garage parking.

The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Customize the IDE: Building Extensions for Visual Studio Code*
Visual Studio Code is one of the most widely used development environments today, and much of its flexibility comes from its extension ecosystem. Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs.
In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling.
The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options.
