Looking for a relaxing way to start your Sunday? Join us for a refreshing walk around the stunning lakes at Karkarook Park in Heatherton!
About the Walk: We'll be exploring the beautiful lake circuit trail at Karkarook Park, one of Melbourne's hidden gems. This peaceful 58-hectare park features scenic lakes, wetlands, lush greenery, and abundant birdlife. The walking paths are well-maintained and suitable for all fitness levels, making it perfect for a leisurely Sunday morning stroll.
What to Expect:
* Scenic lakeside walking trails with beautiful water views
* Peaceful natural surroundings with native birds and wildlife
* Casual conversation and the chance to meet like-minded people
* Plenty of spots to pause and enjoy the scenery
* Fresh air and good vibes!
What to Bring: 💧 Water bottle to stay hydrated 👟 Comfortable walking shoes (paths are mostly flat but wear appropriate footwear) 😊 A fun, friendly attitude and openness to chat!
Parking & Facilities: Free parking is available at the park (entrance off Warrigal Rd). There are public toilets, BBQ facilities, and picnic areas available. Note: Parking can fill up quickly on nice days, so arriving a bit early is recommended.
**Meeting Point: We'll meet at the main car park near the lake. Look for the group gathering at 10:00 AM sharp!**

**Middle Brighton Beach – Bayside foreshore**

This next Sunday Walk will head back to the bayside foreshore. This walk takes us to the ever-popular Middle Brighton Beach, with its famous bathing boxes.
We'll finish with coffee at the **Royal Brighton Yacht Club** \- on the deck overlooking the marina and the bay\.
Come and join us. It'll be a great way to spend your Sunday morning.
**Start:** Bay St, Brighton. Assemble at the beach end of Bay St.
**Parking:** Park along Bay Street or in St Ninnians Road, off Bay St, just back from the beach. Parking is FREE.
**The Walk**: The walk is along the Bayside Trail past the Brighton Baths and onto the picturesque bathing boxes, and then return the same way.
**Total distance**: 5.0 km.
**Time:** Allow 2.5 hours, including coffee.
**Difficulty:** Easy, although we are walking on beach sand for a short distance.
**Toilets:** At several places along the way.
**Coffee:** At the cafe in **Royal Brighton Yacht Club**. We can have brunch there too if we wish.
Clean Up Australia Day + 8th Birthday Special Event

This month, we're switching things up and hosting our event on a Sunday - for a great reason! Our clean-up will coincide with **Clean Up Australia Day** on **Sunday, 1st March**, making it an extra special occasion.
But that’s not all - we’re also celebrating the **8th birthday** of the **Maribyrnong River Rubbish Club!** To mark the occasion, we’ll be providing a **light vegetarian lunch** after our usual clean-up, and we’d love for you to join us.

**What to Expect**
Enjoy fresh air, good conversation and light exercise, all while making a positive impact on our local environment. We’ll be collecting rubbish along the banks of the Maribyrnong River.
**What to Bring**
* Water, sun protection and closed-toe shoes
* We encourage you to bring your own gloves and sunscreen, but we’ll have extras available
* All clean-up equipment, including rubbish bags, will be provided
**Meeting Point**
We usually meet at **Footscray Wharf, near Waterside Metal Art**. However, locations may change, so please check the event page beforehand. If you have trouble finding us on the day, call **0418 184 457 or 0415 635 063**.
**Weather Policy**
We meet every month, except in cases of extreme weather. If you’re unsure, check the event page on the morning of the clean-up for any updates.

* **Meet**: Aim for 6:50 AM at the steps/entrance area of **Federation Square** (look for the group near the main steps or a small sign – easy to spot in the early light).
* **Depart**: 7:05 AM sharp – we leave on time to keep things smooth!
* **Route**: A relaxed loop around **The Tan** (the iconic 3.8 km gravel track circling the Royal Botanic Gardens and Kings Domain).
* **Pace**: Easy and conversational – perfect for walking, not racing. We're there to enjoy the fresh air, not set records.
* **Vibe**: Friendly banter welcome! Chat, laugh, share stories, or just enjoy the peaceful surroundings in companionable silence. We're mindful of the beautiful parklands – leave no trace, respect other path users, and soak up the calm of nature right in the city.

The idea behind improv is to create entire scenes from scratch based on a suggestion from the audience. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway*, *ComedySportz*, or *Wild 'n Out*; it could also be done to tell stories, like *Middleditch and Schwartz*. Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and free!) weekly comedy event, brings the games (and occasionally different forms) for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment.
