Artists of all ability are welcome at the All Good Bookshop Art Club. Each session has a theme to inspire creativity but there is no set image to create, allowing attendees to explore their own skills and interests. Tim strikes the poses once again! The session is held in the TRA Community Hall, Ground Floor, Simla House, Weston Street, SE1 3RL. As you face Simla House from the street, the entrance we use is on the left hand side of the building. The drawing session starts at 7.00pm. If possible, I would be grateful if attendees could arrive 5 to 10 minutes before this time. All abilities are welcome to draw and meet likeminded people. Gentle people, It is my pleasure to invite you to Part III of Italian artists at the V&A, and a luscious afternoon of socialisation at the Grand Cafe at the V&A which is absolutely stunning. **Please note that there is no social before the tour, but only after.** I will be giving a guided tour of the Italian artists to the members of LGBT Culture Lovers group, throughout this year in multiple parts. **There's no need to have attended previous sessions as I always recap.** ***In the third event of the series, we will be looking at the sculptures of quattrocento and cinquecento.*** Included are works by **Donatello, Andrea del Verrocchio**, **Michelangelo, Raphael**, & many others. Hello all! IT'S BEEN A WHILE! **But the neurodivergent artist meet ups are back!** Come along to meet fellow neurodivergent artists, share your work and chat about your art! I'd love to \*finally\* put on an exhibition next year to showcase neurodivergent artists' work - so it would be great to get your thoughts on this too so I can start planning. **Please RSVP if you can make it! As any one who has ever taken a selfie, only to delete it and try for a better one knows, we all have an idea of how we want to be seen by others. This was always the case. When commissioning a portrait or painting a self portrait, the foremost thing in a sitter's mind was how to present a most flattering image, and how to persuade others of one's best qualities - skills, intelligence, goodness, power or status in society. The consequence of that is that portraits usually lie in favour of propaganda. We will look at the way artists from the Renaissance onwards manipulate their sitters' and their own likenesses to reflect their ambitions and society's expectations.
