Southbank Vinyl
NEW VENUE! NEW REGULAR DAY!
We're now back to where Southbank Vinyl began in 2017 - The Roebuck Pub in Borough (50 Great Dover St, London SE1 4YG).
We're now meeting the first Wednesday of each month at the Roebuck, where great food and drink options are available and we have our own room upstairs to play our records on the deck. Come along with a bunch of vinyl you'd like to play and share with us!
This months theme is ‘Winners & Losers’. Songs that celebrate the dizzy highs of victory, and the belly-aching lows of defeat.
Victorious anthems that remind you you are the champions, simply the best, or tracks that help you accept defeat and just shake it off.
Whether you’re fighting the law or just for your right to party… win, draw or lose, bring some vinyl (or just yourself, a friend and a pint) and join us for a night of triumphant highs and lows.
Grab a drink, enjoy some records. And don't forget to RSVP!

Ayano Kaneko Live at O2 Academy, June 3rd
Our friends at RAN/DHP touring are bringing across the amazing Ayano Kaneko:
**Ayano Kaneko** is one of Japan's most compelling and authentic voices in contemporary indie music — a singer-songwriter who has built a devoted following entirely on her own terms.
She has sold out the iconic Nippon Budokan — Japan's most legendary concert hall. At Fuji Rock Festival 2023, she performed as sub-headliner, cementing her status as a genuine festival force.
She has taken a resolutely independent path, blending elements of folk, punk, rock and poetic singer-songwriter storytelling. Ayano has built a devoted following through emotionally honest songs and electrifying live performances rather than complying with mainstream hype. This has led to her becoming of Japan’s most respected independent artists. Don't miss your chance to see an artist who is selling out arenas at home, in a more intimate setting here in London.
This is a ticketed event, please get tickets from here:

The word Swaranjali (swuh-RAAN-juh-lee) is of Sanskrit origin and translates to “musical offerings to the divine.”
This is essentially what the concert is about. It is a carefully curated musical offering that brings together the depth of traditional devotional songs and kirtans within a serene, candlelit setting. A soulful and unique take on devotional music, the evening blends timeless melodies with fresh, expressive arrangements, creating a space for calm, reflection, and inner connection.
Led by Adi Shaah - singer, producer, and creative force behind the concert - each piece is thoughtfully crafted to flow with intention, forming a journey that gently soothes, uplifts, and resonates on a deeper emotional and spiritual level. Alongside traditional compositions, Adi will also present original music within the same genre, adding a personal and contemporary dimension to the experience.
The show is designed to be inclusive and immersive, creating space for the audience to gently join in and sing along, allowing a shared energy to build and a truly uplifting spiritual atmosphere to unfold.
Adi Shaah has been performing on the UK’s Indian music scene for several years and has been revered for his soulfulness and versatility. He brings a unique ability to deliver impactful performances across genres - a depth that lies at the heart of Swaranjali.
Swaranjali will be a musical experience in its most sincere and meditative form.

blanketed with an electrifying atmosphere charged with raw musical energy, soul and emotion. Whether you like to get in front of a mic at Karaoke or you're a secret car perfomer - expect symphonies to unfold in harmony with a vibrant crowd of young music lovers as the band transforms you from boring city of London exe by day into a **pop star** for the night. And if you have a natural sense of rhythm it would be selfish not to show off your charismatic stage presence by droppin some **funky dance moves** as no rock star performance is complete without!
Of course, you don't need to get up and perform - if you **love music** but don't want to sing, you are welcome to socialise, cheer, singalong and dance with the rest of us. Slots to build melody fueled new connections are strictly limited. So in order to give genuine music fans a fair chance to attend - as per attendance rules **\- anyone who has not answered the screening question properly or does not demonstrate passion for music as indicated by interests listed in their profiles \- will be moved to not going to create space for like\-minded genuine people**
**=== If You're Singing ===**
You don't need vocals like Zara Larsson or Amy Winehouse - most of us are not professional singers - we do this for pure fun indulgence, entertaininment and love of music but if you've never sung live with a band on stage before - ideally choose a song that you know the lyrics / musical timing too well. We'll have **two** **experienced guitarists** (base and electric)**,** a **drummer** who also do **backing vocals** to help out if you get lost.
**=== Venue & Itinerary ===**
We are back at our Camden venue with the band offering excellent choice of songs. Early on we will meet around the bar area and once the first song hits most of us will move closer to the front stage to dance and singalong to the tracks so come on time for early intros - when the band starts it gets pretty loud. I will share my number on the eve and update in the comments section on whereabouts.
**=== MUSIC ONLY EVENTS ===**
For music fans who love music and want to hear about mostly free music‑related events in London, we do have an exclusive WhatsApp group you can join subject to minimal vetting. If you have attended an event before or at least met the organiser in person send me a request and I will add you / send you link to join:! I’ll share all my music events here in advance first so people can RSVP earlier and avoid waiting lists. People can also share last min non‑meetup MUSIC events too.

Bathing Suits
Bathing Suits play fierce, thumping electro and they play it loud, with a wild stage act that's picking up a lot of word of mouth. They just won the Steve Strange prize at Great Escape and they won't be playing venues this size much longer. Here are some samples:

Cocktails & RSA Unplugged Concert: Hannah Wicklund, Suze Harper, Naomi Ost
Hi All
**I know a good few have fallen in love with The RSA and their gorgeous lounge and cocktail bar, MUSE, and our last two have been at the even more historic space, the Tavern Room. Let's just tell you how magical this place is. .. Dickens used to write his novels IN THIS ROOM. Benjamin Franklin was a fellow of the RSA AT THE TIME OF THE AMERICAN CIVIL WAR. Past and present Fellows include Judi Dench, Herbie Hancock and Steven Hawking ... shall I go on? It's one of the most beautiful Georgian Houses in London, just off Strand, pretty much the original 18th century Coffee House / debating society. Now you know why I get excited inviting you here!**
Our Friday 5th June Unplugged concert features US touring artist Hannah Wicklund, who has headlined the world famous Troubadour in LA, played Eric Clapton's own Crossroads Festival and performed the length and breath of the US and Europe too. Joined by the wonderful NZ artist Suze Harper and English Rose singer-songwriter Naomi Ost .. we cannot wait!
* *6pm onwards - We meet from 6pm for cocktails and chats in the lovely Muse Bar, before settling in at The Tavern Room for the salon style concert.*
* *7pm approx - The unplugged concert starts with intervals inbetween each artist*
* *9.45pm onwards - cocktail bar open until 11 for after drinks!*
**ABOUT THE LINEUP**
US artist HANNAH WICKLUND has toured since she was 16, sharing stages with acts like Joan Jett, Marcus King, Deep Purple, and Greta Van Fleet, and has graced the stage at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, among many others around the world. Her last studio record, ‘The Prize’ earned the honor of being named Rolling Stone Brazil’s #1 Rock Album of 2024. Hannah’s music explores themes of womanhood and of the battle between light and dark that so many of us in this world can relate to.
New Zealand born SUZE HARPER was studying for her final year of law school in Paris when she became re-acquainted with her deep musical instinct and passion for live performance. After performing in Parisian jazz clubs and street busking, she honed her original sound in London—melding jazz, soul, blues, pop, and classical, leaving a career in law behind.
NAOMI OST is a singer-songwriter with a big heart, a lot of feelings, and a firm belief in the healing powers of a well-timed cup of tea and a banging chorus. Drawing on the lyrical intimacy of Joni Mitchell, the emotional resonance of Eva Cassidy, and the relatability of Carole King, she writes with the instinct of someone who needs to write: not to shock or provoke, but to soothe, to process, to nourish.
