🥂Xmas Chaos: Mulled Wine, Pop Anthems, Lights Tour, Carols + Band Singalong 🎄
All I Want for Christmas Is… oh no - not Mariah again but Fantasy is still a dope sexi tune🎤 Instead, we'll embark on a four‑part **Xmas Chaos Social**: festive **drinks** that hit, **singalong** with band anthems (carols vs pop bangers - choose your poison!), and fairytale lights setting the vibe. Think our childhood xmas magic, but with sarcasm, intoxicating shots, and a DJ. And I'll award the best dressed people a Bethlehem Star prize.
**== Part 1: Carols Concert With Orchestra & Choir + Mulled Wine ==**
We'll kick off with dazzling light displays to xmas carols performed by choir and accompanying Orchestra in a central London church. If that cardic arrest inducing ecstasy is not enough - expect free xmas **mulled wine** and snacks along with song sheets for those competing against me to hit soprano notes
We have a choice of two venues - I'll update closer to the event date. These churches gets very busy and so if you're late you will likely need to queue outside to enter (10 to 20 mins)
**== Part 2: Xmas Lights Walking Tour ==**
Post concert - to burn off those free mince pies, we'll take a walking adventure to see the nearby **xmas lights**. I'll be "DJ-in" to provide **uptempo xmas pop bangers** (not carols) as we take each step closer to Xmas 101 \* 25
**== Part 3: Xmas Group Singalong With Live Band + DJ Dance Anthems ==**
We then go for drinks in a xmas themed bar in Soho with **xmas pop songs singalong** with a **live band** and **DJ** mashing up xmas tunes with classic **dance floor anthems**. This is ticketed and as I have limited free tickets allocated - please also indicate during the event matching screening question whether you will be joining for this pinnacle part of the night!
**== Part 4: Xmas Rockaoke / SIng With Live Band Solo ==**
For the xmas party hardcores - we will probably head to Islington to do rockoake with live band that will let us perform some xmas songs. Being the main xmas party weekend we will probably end up out till 3am after in Camden or Islington.
The Return of Lucas The Messiah - It's gonna be fuckin mental....
🎺🎬 BLUE MOON
**🎷 This witty and heartbreaking chamber piece from screenwriter Robert Kaplow and director Richard Linklater tells the story of Broadway lyricist Lorenz Hart just after his split from Richard Rodgers. He is played with campy brilliance, an unspeakable combover and fake smallness by Ethan Hawke.**
As part of the **legendary Broadway songwriting team** with composer Rodgers, Hart was responsible for **matchless numbers** like The Lady Is a Tramp, Manhattan, **My Funny Valentine** and of course **Blue Moon**. But exasperated with Hart’s alcoholism and unreliability, Rodgers broke with him and partnered with **Oscar Hammerstein II** to write Oklahoma! and then a raft of stage and screen smashes.
The film shifts neatly into a **robust portrait of friendship and rivalry** between these two giant talents: Hart eclipsed, Rodgers aware of his stature but gracious, and both **fiercely opinionated about their art form**.
We will meet for pre-drinks at the **Garden Cinema Bar** before heading to **Screen 1**. Feel free to choose your favourite seat. And, then we briefly reconvene one more time for a casual Letterboxd Review.
It will be a night at a classy cult cinema, good vibes and an independent movie.

**I look forward to seeing you guys there.**

Indiemeet's Monthly Meetup
Help support the group with a tip: [https://ko-fi.com/indierpg](https://ko-fi.com/indierpg)!
This is Indiemeet's monthly meetup. Come along for 13:30 and meet folk.
At 14:00 we start pitching games. Everyone who's brought a game to run gives a short pitch: they say what it's like, how many players it can take and whether it has a GM or not. Then we allocate people to games and play them.
We love people who pitch games, so please do come with something you'd like to run. If you'd like to pitch a game, you'll need to include: number of players, type of game (GMed or GM-less), and a brief blurb of the game.
If it's your first time at Indiemeet, we'll ask what you want to play and try to make sure it runs!
We believe that gaming is for all: Indiemeet believes in providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. We believe that gaming is for everyone, regardless of who you are or your level of experience. Chat with us on Discord: [https://discord.gg/EWE7xmH](https://discord.gg/EWE7xmH)
Come and Play Chamber Music
Come and play Chamber Music at my house on Sunday December 21st;
Time as suits between 2:15pm and 9:30pm
Please include instruments and expected times in your response, and follow the following requested precautions when coming:
Attendance requirements:
Please do not come if you are unwell or if you know you were recently exposed to people with Covid or flu.
Suggested standard is AB grade7 or NVQ level5 to professional, but in the end the ability to play with others is more important than instrumental technique
I provide the following:
Up to six playing spaces for groups of up to 12, 8, 6, 6, 6 and 3, respectively.
One of the six-person playing-rooms has a carefully-chosen Steinway model B. There will also be a Clavinova CLP575, a Clavinove 625, and an A415 harpsichord (all in different rooms).
I have violins, violas, cello and a friend's 3/4 double bass available to play for multi-instrumentalists who do not wish to carry too much (please check before coming). I have a decent library of chamber music mostly for strings and for strings and piano; and in practice at least one wind player usually comes equipped with appropriate music (I will provide warning to winds should this ever not be the case).
As this is my private home, details of the location will be emailed by early Sunday to those who have already signed up. Please confirm instruments, chosen timing and the attendance requirements
You will see that available playing times are very long - and I can extend until 10:30pm if appropriate. The intention is to allow us to space out and to minimise infection risks - as well as to give multiple pianists access.
Please bring a music stand (let me know if this is difficult or impractical, as I can provide a limited number).
There will be beverages and biscuits.
I have revised the anonymous contribution arrangement - it is now a rectangular tin on the high side in the kitchen. Please give if you can - we sometimes have insurance costs to cover as well as basic meetUp subscription; any surplus (wishful thinking so far) will be used to help extend the music library
The list of signed-up players (by instrument and with timing) is now in the comments below; I will try to keep this reasonably up to date
I have probably omitted things you need to know. Please ask. (Ditto apparent errors)
Looking forward
George

The jam is called MIC DROP and it is a freestyle jam meaning there is going to be no setlist. The aim is for everyone to have fun and jam with an emphasis of trying to come up with new original sounds/songs and improvisation.
The Temple Of Art and Music is a live music venue and bar in Elephant & Castle so I encourage anyone attending to bring friends as it will be great fun for them even if they are not playing.
The venue has a PA system, drum kit, mics and guitar/bass amps.
There is no guarantee that there will be cymbals or drum accessories with the drum kit at the venue. Drummers please being your own if you can.
Like all our other jams it will be a chance to jam with other musicians playing the music that you love in a gentle environment with no judgement and no pressure. This jam also uniquely gives the opportunity to play in front of a crowd!
Tickets are **£10 online** message us let us know what instrument you play and we will confirm if there is space and send you the Eventbrite link for the jam.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about this jam and London Jam Sessions.
At London Jam Sessions we have an active community on WhatsApp where we all discuss the upcoming jams and future events. Everyone in the community is encouraged to ask questions and bring forward new ideas. Dm me and I can add you to our Whatsapp group.

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Jan 3 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Gaye Fifer**
**Band: Hot Coffee Breakdown**
**Big Scioty Contra Dance**
**temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
