Easy Walk/Ruck @ Kowloon
**Location:** Kowloon
**Duration:** 90 Minutes
**Difficulty:** Accessible to ALL (Self-paced intensity)
***
**The Mission**
In the world of first responders, "slow is smooth, and smooth is fast." While high-intensity training gets the glory, **Zone 2 Heart Rate training** is the silent engine that powers human performance.
This session, hosted by **TacticalFitnessHK**, is designed to build your aerobic base—the foundation that allows you to recover faster, stay calm under pressure, and sustain physical output for longer durations without burning out.
### What to Expect
This is not a "balls-to-the-wall" sprint session. We are training for **longevity and resilience**.
* **Briefing (10 mins):** We’ll start with a short talk from our founders (local first responders) on why aerobic capacity is critical for emergency preparedness and mental clarity.
* **The "Talk Test" Jog/Walk (60 mins):** We will move as a group in Kowloon. The goal is to keep your heart rate between **60-70% of your maximum**. You should be able to hold a full conversation—this is where the community building happens!
* **Knowledge Share & Cool Down (20 mins):** We’ll wrap up with light mobility work and a Q&A session on emergency kits, situational awareness, and staying "ready" in an urban environment like Hong Kong.
***
### Why Zone 2?
For first responders and prepared citizens alike, Zone 2 training:
1. **Improves Mitochondrial Efficiency:** Teaches your body to burn fat as a primary fuel source.
2. **Enhances Recovery:** Helps clear lactate faster after high-intensity bursts.
3. **Protects the "Soul":** Lower-intensity steady-state movement is proven to reduce cortisol (stress) and improve mental health.
### Who Should Join?
**Everyone.** While we are founded by first responders to support the frontline assets, we believe a resilient city requires a resilient community. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey, we welcome you to join our ranks.
### What to Bring
* Comfortable running/walking shoes.
* A heart rate monitor or smartwatch (optional—we can teach you the "Talk Test" method).
* Water (hydration is key even at lower intensities).
* An open mind and a spirit for community.
***
**Ready to build your foundation?** Click "Join" to reserve your spot. We train rain or shine.

Resonance & Ritual: Candle-Lit Sound Journey with Tea Ceremony
*An intimate evening for deep rest, reflection, and renewal.*
**Resonance and Ritual: Sound Journey & Tea Ceremony**
Step out of the Hong Kong work rhythm and into an evening of nervous system restoration, deep presence, and gentle connection. **Resonance and Ritual** is a small-group sound journey and tea ceremony created especially for busy professionals who want to slow down without “checking out” of their lives.
We’ll begin with a candle lighting intention ritual. Then we'll gently settle into a guided sound journey using sound bowls, chimes, and other soothing instruments to help your body release tension and your mind soften out of work mode. From there, we transition into a mindful tea ceremony, inviting you to experience tea as a grounding ritual — one sip, one breath, one shared moment at a time.
This experience is ideal if you:
* Feel mentally and emotionally drained from long workdays
* Find it hard to switch off, even when you’re home
* Miss feeling present, connected, and at ease in your own body
**What’s included**
* Guided sound journey (approx. 40 minutes)
* Mindful tea ceremony with high-quality loose-leaf tea
* Mats/props provided (you may bring your own if you prefer)
* A calm, supportive space to integrate and reflect
**Event details**
* Date: Friday, 1st May
* Time: 7:00 - 8:30 PM
* Venue: Sacred Space Therapy and Wellness Studio, Cheung Sha Wan
* Capacity: Limited to 7 participants for depth and comfort
* Exchange:
* Early Bird - 375 HKD (First 3)
* Standard - 420 HKD
* Group (2+) - 390 HKD
**What to bring**
* Comfortable clothing suitable for lying down
* A light sweater or shawl
* Optional: journal and pen
Spend an evening with HKAS and Dr. Patrick Hase
One of the most common questions we get at HK Sacred Spaces is, "How do you find so many places to visit?" There are many different answers to that question, but certainly one of them is found in my well-worn copy of the locally printed book "Market Towns of the New Territories" by Patrick HASE. This book is published in both English and Chinese and is a treasure trove of information about how the New Territories developed and how that impacts every other part of Hong Kong life. From village towns, local temples, and ancient trails, this book has it all. It's rare to have a chance to hear the author talk about his work, so I encourage all of you to come along and listen to the talk and ask questions.
Our friends host this event at the Hong Kong Anthropology Society. It is free of charge.

Circumnavigate Cheung Chau
Where and when:
At our base at the Windsurfing centre on Kwun Yam Wan Beach at 10am.
Who can join: Open to members who have attended the part A and B sessions, our Kayaking Essentials or something similar. The route may take us through some choppy waters so you need to be a confident paddler.
Route:
We will paddle around the entire island, most probably heading north to begin with and heading to one of the southwesterly beaches for a late lunch.
The journey is anywhere from 10 to 15 kms depending on how much we wish to explore the small nooks and crannies of the coastline.
The seas around Cheung Chau, in parts, can be quite rough if the wind picks up so please only sign up for this paddle if you are confident paddling in rough waters.
What to bring:
Wet shoes (closed-toed shoes that will get wet and don't come off when you swim, NO FLIP FLOPS).
Your own lunch and snacks, since there is no place to buy food.
Protection from heat stroke and sunburn: hat, protective clothing, 50+ sunscreen, sunglasses.
At least 3 liters of water. Please use reusable bottles to minimize plastic waste.
As always, our 48 hour cancellation policy applies, however if you have a valid emergency please contact me asap.
Please arrive with HKD 300 in cash as payment for the hire of equipment used in this training session. Please also bring the following -
- Sturdy closed-toed shoes that can get wet that will be worn at all times throughout the training session (Crocs DO NOT qualify. Old sneakers/trainers are OK. NO flip flops).
- A packed lunch or money for a lunch.
- A refillable water bottle (there is clean, drinkable tap water at the kayak base). We strongly discourage the use of packaged water in disposable bottles (I.e. Bonaqua, Evian, etc)
- Swimwear, hat, sunglasses and sun protection (long sleeve rash guard or UV resistant shirt highly recommended).
- Optional: change of clothes & towel for post-session shower
Expect the training to last until about 4pm which means you will likely be ready to go by 5pm after the gear had been washed and stored which you will need to help with.

This is a sightseeing country biking tour that we'll stop to see rivers, farms, villages, old churches and temples.
Kam Tin(錦田) and Yuen Long have the biggest farmlands and villages areas in Hong Kong. It's easy to visit these country areas on bicycles on the biking lanes and roads with few cars passing.
In the farmland, some country lanes are narrow and winding, so you need to be good in controlling your bike. Most of the roads are flat and well paved.
\*You can rent bikes at $50 or bring your own bike. Bring a spared tyre if you bring your own bike.
We'll have lunch in a village restaurant.
- Wear a helmet and gloves, bring a hat, sun screen and mosquito repellent.
if any emergency, please call Benny 92100999 or Terence 54081914.
