Rock Creek Park Southern Loop 6 Miles
Join us for this scenic 6-mile loop in Rock Creek Park averaging 2-2.5 miles per hour with an elevation gain of 740 feet.
We will start at the Rock Creek Park Nature Center, and travel south past Pierce Mill, ascend up to the Pierce-Klingle Mansion, cross Rock Creek, and hike up the Valley trail, visiting Pulpit Rock and Boulder Bridge before returning to the Nature Center. The hike is generally considered a moderate route. It takes an average of 3 hours to complete the loop. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
Toilets will NOT be available at the Nature Center, however the toilets at Pierce Mill will likely be open (about 2 miles into the hike).
**Meeting Point:**
The address is 5200 Glover Road, NW, at the Rock Creek Nature Center (no entrance fees, plenty of parking)
**Meeting Time:**
Plan to arrive at 8:15am so you will be able to meet everyone and sign the PATC waiver. Once the waiver is signed, we will begin the hike promptly at 8:30am.

Run and Get Dirty! Adult Dogs in the main park, puppies in the small dog park
Our regular Sunday meetup at the Shirlington Dog Park -- members start arriving around 10:15 a.m. You'll always find an Aussie to play with. There are 3 entrances, so wander the park -- the dogs will find each other!
For puppies, Shirlington has a small dog park within the larger dog park. It's the prefect place for your puppy to gain confidence and socialize with others. There is also plenty of room to run.
Just a reminder, the Dog Park is under attack by the Arlington County Board of Commissioners. While early plans to decrease the size of the park by 50% has been tabled, it's important to remind Arlington County how important this park is to dogs and owners. Here are links to the change.org petition and the Facebook page where you can get updates.

Father's Day - Teddy Roosevelt Island exploration
Weather Permitting. Please RSVP the number of corgis attending only.
Great walk with views of DC and Georgetown. It is an island so you can't get too lost! Please be mindful of the parking situation there as when it's busy you have to park up in Rosslyn and cross the bridge over the GW parkway. Meet at the bridge on the island side by 10 am. We will go left and walk the upland trail and finish up at the monument for a group photo. For those with swimmers we can follow up with a dip overlooking Georgetown at the point marked 10 on the cartoon map.
For those interested in Kayaking after around the island please be prepared to move the party across the river to get a rental at Fletchers or Georgetown boathouse if you don't BYOK/SUP. Remember to bring a doggie life jacket too since this is a real river paddle.
Happy Father's Day! Let's Meetup and walk at the US Arboretum! - All on Leash
Join Sarah and Willow for a walk at the Arboretum! We will meet at the Visitor Center Parking at 9:00am and plan to go for an hour or so depending on how hot it is. We will mainly do the trails in the woods, with some short stretches in full sun. We will do a big loop to end up back at the Capital Columns.
Time: 9:00am - 10:30ish. Plan on getting there a little early so we can be ready to go on time.
Location: Visitor Center Parking lot by R street entrance
What to expect: This walk will be on leash. Don't forget to bring water for you and your dog. The walking surface will be a mix of paved road and grass/dirt.

A DC meetup at Dumbarton Oaks
PawsUP for David and Brick for originally suggesting this awesome meetup and our dogs love it!
-Dumbarton Oaks/Montrose Park in Georgetown
-Meet at the entrance off of R st, on the East side (closer to the cemetery)
-Plenty of street parking in the area
-Bring water and a ball for your Aussie
This park is a very large open field, that is very dog friendly. Tons of space to run and chase. Most if not all dogs are off leash. Occasional runners and kids (there is a playground), so keep that in mind. There is also a trail inside with a stream that the dogs love to play in.
