February's band will be Gloworms. **The Gloworms** are a London based three-piece band and one of the most distinctive and uplifting ceilidh bands in the country. Band members are **Jon Brenner** (piano accordion), **Colin Cotter** (banjo, stompbox) and **Laurel Swift** (fiddle, voice, clogs). They play a mixture of traditional English dance tunes, together with tunes written by the band and other contemporary folk musicians Our caller, **Nick Walden**, will give clear instructions to make sure that everyone will enjoy the party! Friday night Brazilian zouk dance class followed by socialising, drinks and practice dance. A fun dance class 7.30-9 pm where you'll meet lots of first-time dancers and get to know everyone before dancing the night away and socialising. There is a discount for the beginner's class! No experience is required, and you don't need to bring a partner, as partners change regularly to enable everyone to get to know each other. Most people come by themselves and make new friends! After the class, the club night goes on till midnight with DJs and a bar. The venue is hired out exclusively for the people who come for dance classes and practice. The cost is usually £15 but if you're on the guestlist for meetup it's only £10 for the whole evening. Make sure your name is on the guest list!

**EXPOSING THE CLASSICS 📸🩰** *(with a particular focus on Strobe Lighting!)* DPL is happy to bring back our Exposing the Classics workshop, with a particular focus this time on working with strobe lighting–Saturday 21 February at The Camera Club in South London! Take a look at some of the images we managed to capture last time. Using slightly different techniques we will: ◼️ Explore iconic choreographic moments from the classical repertoire. ◼️ With one dancer and one lens, recreate the imagery of a corps de ballet. ◼️ Learn the photographic techniques behind long exposure and layering.
