Discover Scottish Reeling in London! PGT Reels Teaching Evening - welcoming complete beginners and experienced dancers alike to our friendly, fun evenings near South Kensington tube station (SW3, on Piccadilly & District lines). No experience or partner needed – every dance is fully taught and our friendly committee members are always on hand to help. Within minutes you'll be setting and spinning with the rest of us. We meet once a fortnight from 7:15pm at Marlborough Primary School (SW3), just a short walk from South Kensington and Knightsbridge tube stations. Entry is £9 (card only, paid on the door) and includes wine, cordial, and snacks – so you can refuel between dances, chat and stay for a visit to pub afterwards.

**All I want for Christmas** is… oh no, not more Mariah again. There are literally over 500 Xmas pop songs DJs could play!!! How about sipping a French Martini, Guinness or Pinot Noir over some engaging, fun conversations — and then, when the mood hits, singing random lines from **Fairytale of New York** just like we did **Last Christmas**. Is it Xmas numero uno yet? Apparently not… this year some very questionable new Kylie track has taken the crown! As we await for the auspicious birth of the messiah - join for a classic festive knees up packed with lots of fun conversations, a DJ playing all usual plus some Xmas tunes and probably **another rock n roll xmas** glittery pop singalong with the **Herald Angels**, if the drinks flow endlessly which no doubt they will.... Try to wear something chrismasie as this year we'll be doing the **jingle bell rock** around the Xmas tree @ the Camden Eye - a neat cosy boozer tucked away 13 second walk from the dusty but ponyless road adjoining Camden Tube station, 1.6 miles from Central London. Upon **Silent Night** midnight mass - the club/DJ will be in full musical effect so if you live in inner North London (zone 2) or Central London then this will be perfect xmas eve drinks as you can literally walk home without worry about getting home with no public transport after 12am Those that came **Last Christmas** will testify to over 80 fun loving xmas spirit embracing attendees so this is destined to be another auspicious festive Christmas crackerganza. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
