'Sole to Soul' Walk & Talk
Join us for a chilled out, circular, stroll around Wanstead Park.
The Park is a peaceful space with old trees, open grassland, woodland paths and a beautiful chain of lakes. It has history, with traces of the grand Wanstead House estate that once stood there. We'll take this time to slow down, engage and enjoy nature.
We ask that you bring a specific topic you'd like to explore, or a question that's slightly unusual to the every day thinking we get caught in. Examples could be something like:
* If you were to be born again, which career would you try out?
* What's the best decision you made in the last year?
* What is the smallest thing you could change in your life that would have the biggest positive impact right now?
No need to bring the cleverest question. Come curious, open, prepared to share and ready to hear new perspectives and maybe even meet life long friends.
We'll meet at the park entrance at 10.30am (see photo and map). We'll wait until 10.45am (only) if we know someone is delayed. We'll share our questions all together and then head off as a (loose) group, in pairs or threes, returning to the same park gates around 12.30pm.
Access to the park entrance on Wanstead Park Road is easy by public transport, Central Line or Elizabeth Line.
By joining the walk you (of course) take full responsibility for your wellbeing.
We look forward to meeting you!

đ§ Hiking Glastonbury: Land of Myths, Magic & Holy Grail Legend
#################
**Explore Britainâs most stunning trails in a small group of up to 15, travelling together by private minibus to beautiful, remote locations not easily reached by public transport.**
**Weâve created a list of [FAQs](https://drive.google.com/file/d/12gIZWTLfA3zQsx1fb0lpv1zOWP2vC5tq/view?usp=drive_link) to help answer your questions.**

Come and join us on a trip to **Glastonbury**, possibly the quirkiest town in England, and home to the famous **Glastonbury Music Festival**! This city is at fascinating crossroads of various religions and spiritualities, from Christianity and paganism, to Druidism and witchcraft, and is unusually rich in legends and mythology. **Glastonbury Tor**, which we're going to climb, took centre stage in the opening ceremony of the **London 2012 Olympic Games**, celebrating the âidyllic, mythical Englandâ.
Our **4-mile route** will follow the **Glastonbury Way** around the town and its beautiful landscape, taking in the most significant places. Weâll also visit the beautiful **White Spring** **temple** at the base of Glastonbury Tor (free entry). Candle-lit and atmospheric, it is a unique and sacred space long cherished by pilgrims and local people, and commonly used for quiet reflection, ceremonies and meditation. Opposite the White Spring are the peaceful, sunlit gardens of **Chalice Well** and the **Red Spring**, which youâre also welcome to visit for a small entry fee.
After the hike, youâll have free time to explore **Glastonburyâs weird and wonderful shops**. This is the perfect place to browse for crystals (and learn about their healing properties), tarot cards, jewellery, lotions and potions, incense, herbs â and even wizard hats and magic wands! đđŽđThe town is also home to more than **50 spectacular pieces of street art**, with colourful murals decorating the city centre and adding to Glastonburyâs vibrant, creative atmosphere.
**This trip is suitable for BEGINNERS** â a great way to experience hiking before joining our more difficult trips! đ¤Š
**LEGENDS OF GLASTONBURY**
There are many legends surrounding Glastonbury. Below are the most famous ones.
*Jesus and Joseph of Arimathea*
Jesus is said to have come to Glastonbury as a boy, travelling here with his uncle, Joseph of Arimathea. Joseph was a tin merchant and had travelled to England's south west for this valuable metal. After the crucifixion of Jesus, Joseph travelled to Britain with the Holy Grail (the cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper), which he buried under Glastonbury Tor.
*The Holy Thorn*
Joseph is said to have arrived in Glastonbury by boat over the flooded Somerset Levels. On arriving, he climbed up Wearyall Hill (a 15-minute walk from Glastonbury centre). Exhausted, he thrust his staff into the ground and rested. By morning his staff had taken root and grown into a miraculous thorn tree, known as the Holy Thorn. A flowering sprig of the Holy Thorn is cut every year and presented to the monarch, where it resides on his Christmas Day breakfast table.
*The Isle of Avalon and King Arthur*
For many people, Glastonbury represents the Isle of Avalon, the mythical island of Celtic tradition, believed to be a gateway to the underworld. Glastonbury is said to be the final resting place of the legendary King Arthur.

Slow Walk & Deep Talk: Real Connection
**[ď¸đď¸ Grab your ticket here ď¸ đď¸](https://luma.com/3jyh6a2m)**
**â There will be 50-60 people coming as I promote this event on multiple platforms.**
**Route:** Regentâs Park
**Meeting point:** Emailed 24 hours before.
**Walking time:** 1 - 3pm
**Social:** 3pm onwards
Not your average walk club.
An intentionally slow-paced social walk built around deeper conversation, real connection, and a more thoughtful kind of socialising, offering the perfect chance to reconnect to yourself, others, and nature.
Before we start, everybody will be given carefully curated conversation cards to spark deeper, more honest conversations. If youâre bored of shallow socialising and addictive apps, this is for you.
**[ď¸đď¸ Grab your ticket here ď¸ đď¸](https://luma.com/3jyh6a2m)**
Unseen community hosts monthly socials, dinners & walks in London. We offer curated social experiences in beautiful spaces, designed for curious minds who are bored of shallow socialising and addictive apps, and want deeper conversation & real connection.
Register here if you are joining us on the walk. Join our walking club **[WhatSapp community here](https://chat.whatsapp.com/F92j6Cf7wLc2dKciQvg6nu?mode=gi_t)** where I'll send location pins and walk info.
**WALK FAQS**
**Will there be photography?**
Yes. We will take photos and videos during the walk, including some flash. To be excluded, tell a team member before we start.
**Where might photos and videos from the walk appear?**
On our Instagram, website, emails, press coverage, and sometimes in partner or promotional material.
**Whatâs the vibe like?**
Relaxed, thoughtful and friendly. Slow-paced, welcoming, and a bit deeper than your usual social.
**What do people do after?**
We all go to a cafe and continue the conversations. This is also a great way to meet other groups or people you havenât spoken to yet.
**Who will be hosting?**
Myself (Ben) and some some team members/volunteers.
**Do I have to have deep conversations?**
We encourage using the conversation cards. The point of this walk is to go a bit deeper than a normal social event. If that does not appeal to you, this event may not be for you.
**What topics will we be discussing?**
Relationships, purpose, personal growth, identity, values, life direction and more.
**[ď¸](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1987289631785?aff=oddtdtcreator)[đď¸ Grab your ticket here ď¸ đď¸](https://luma.com/3jyh6a2m)**
**Will it be very intense?**
The aim is meaningful conversation, honesty and depth, not forced vulnerability. You do not have to talk about anything you do not want to, such as trauma or things you may be working on in therapy. This is not a therapeutic space, though if you are comfortable discussing more difficult things, that will not be unwelcome.
**Do I have to walk slowly? How slow?**
The idea is to slow down and take in the greenery, scenery, conversation, and the people around you. Expect a normal to slightly slower-than-normal pace. City walking is usually fast. This will be slower than that, but not painfully slow.
**Do I need to come with someone?**
No. Lots of people come alone. The format makes it easy to talk to people.
**Is every walk in the same location?**
No. Each walk takes place in a different part of London, always chosen for its greenery, scenery and nature.
**How much walking is involved?**
Around 5km at an easy pace.
**What should I wear or bring with me?**
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that suit the weather. Bring water.
**How often are the walks?**
Monthly.
**What happens if it rains or the forecast turns?**
The walk will usually still go ahead. If conditions are unsafe, I will email everyone with an update.
**Are there any behaviour rules?**
Yes. Be respectful and do not make the walk uncomfortable for others. Harassment or harmful behaviour is not acceptable.
**What should I do if thereâs an issue on the day?**
Speak to me (Ben) during the walk or email me afterwards so I can look into it properly.
**[ď¸đď¸ Grab your ticket here ď¸ đď¸](https://luma.com/3jyh6a2m)**
**Please note:** Experiences and perspectives may be discussed, but this is not a therapeutic space and does not provide medical or psychological advice.

Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!).
**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started â but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.
*For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)*
**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**FAQ**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome â please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**LOGISTICS**
* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
* Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details.
* If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. đ¤ đ
**IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...**

* This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
