We will get-together at the KereKere cafe - at the community table just inside the cafe entrance. *This is a group for people with intermediate and advanced level French who are able to engage in a conversation en français. It is not suitable for beginners.* The cafe is close to the corner of Wellington Parade and Lansdowne St, East Melbourne in the Fitzroy Gardens. It takes about 5 minutes on Tram 75 from Flinders St Station, or 15 minute walk. Car parking around Fitzroy Gardens on Sundays now is $2 per hour with a 4 hour limit, Some parking is limited to 1 hour even on Sunday. And occasionally, if there is a game at the MCG for example there might not be much parking at all. Sunday Walk **Maribyrnong River Trail** This week we are heading over to Melbourne’s second largest river, the Maribyrnong. Here we’ll discover a popular, wide-open, walking trail alongside the picturesque banks of this old Melbourne trading port. At the halfway point, we’ll stop for coffee on the lawns of the Boathouse Cafe. **Start**: Footscray Park, Myers Rd, Footscray. **Start time**: 9.00 AM. **Parking**: Park in The Edgewater carpark, on Myers Rd. Parking is free. **The Walk**: The walk is the well-formed walking trail along the riverbank. We’ll walk as far as the Boathouse Cafe, stop for coffee and return by the same trail. **Total distance**: 5.6 km. **Time**: Allow 2.0 hours for the walk, plus half hour for coffee. We will discuss what mushroom species can be cultivated, what tree species they can grow on, and demonstrate how to prepare and inoculate the logs. By following these steps, you can have your own bountiful mushroom harvest!
