Silver Tuesdays Nordic Walking in Brockwell Park
Over the last nine years, Silverfit has been able to offer exercise to everyone over 50 in Brockwell Park. Together with Silverfit, I have done my best to keep the exercise fun for everyone, no matter if you are fit or not so fit, strong or not so strong, sporty or not so sporty.
And, over all, I think we have done that pretty well! We have had some glorious years, and we made many, many friends over that time.
Silverfit managed to keep it going through the good times and the hard Covid years, but unfortunately, the reality of the current economic climate is hitting Silverfit hard. Many councils and charities that have supported Silverfit over the years have stopped funding, and without funding, Silverfit just simply cannot keep going.
Recently, they have had to take the hard decision to cut quite a number of their activities, and unfortunately, Nordic Walking in Brockwell park is one of the sessions that needs to be stopped.
Yesterday afternoon was our last session for Silverfit.
But…. I aim to keep your Tuesday walk going!
So many of you love our Tuesday session, and it would just be too sad to stop completely.
I would like to keep the Silver Tuesday session going under my own company, Fit and Happy Outdoors.
Sadly, I cannot do this for free, as I do need to make a living. But in order to keep this session available for everyone, I plan to keep our Tuesday afternoon session at a highly reduced rate compared to my normal rates.
New rates for our Silver Tuesday walks:
10 sessions for £45 (my normal rate is 10 sessions for £90).
For those of you who struggle financially, I am happy to reduce this rate to £30, or even offer it for free.
I can of course only do this if enough of you pay the normal rate, and I trust you will only ask for a reduction if you really need it. As I said, I do this for my living, but I don’t want money to be the reason you miss out on the benefits of Nordic Walking and spending time with our lovely group of friends.
If you are already a member of Fit and Happy Outdoors and you pay monthly, then the Tuesday session is included in your fee. No extra payment is necessary (unless you’d like to sponsor someone who cannot pay)
How does it work?
1) Please email me at Ailien at Fitandhappyoutdoors dot com, and let me know if you agree with me sending you an invoice for the full rate, or if you need a reduced rate.
2) I will then send you an invoice with my bank details on it.
3) Once I have received your payment in my bank account, I will hand you a 10-session card at the first session I see you
4) Every time you come walking on Tuesday, I will stamp your card
5) Once you have walked 10 times, I will send you a new invoice for the next 10.
Payment: I really, really, prefer bank transfers.
If you really do not do bank transfers, then you can pay me in cash. No cheques please (I really try to avoid having to go to the bank, it is just too much hassle).
If you or a friend only comes once in a very blue moon, then they can pay £5 in cash for the session (only banknotes please. Help a girl out, I do enough weightlifting already 😊)
Are you a walk leader? You are always welcome and do not have to pay me. I am grateful for your help!

Incredible Highlights of South Korea- 07 April 2026 - 8 days
**07 Apr-Day 1: Welcome to Seoul** Arrive in Seoul, a vibrant city offering a mix of bustling city life, delicious food, historical sites, and shopping. Upon arrival at the airport, you’ll be transferred to your hotel. While there are no scheduled activities, you can join your guide and fellow travelers for a group dinner.
**08 Apr-Day 2: History and Culture of the North-South Divide in Paju** Start early with a visit to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea. The Imjingak Peace Tour will take you through key sites like the Third Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and Imjingak Peace Park. On the return to Seoul, stop by the War Memorial of Korea, a museum dedicated to preserving the history of the Korean War.
**09 Apr-Day 3: Explore Seoul** After breakfast, you'll embark on a tour of Seoul's iconic sights. Visit Gyeongbok Palace, a stunning 500-year-old royal palace, followed by the Folklore Museum to learn about traditional Korean culture. Explore Bukchon Hanok Village, a living museum of traditional architecture, and Jogyesa Temple, a beautiful Buddhist site. Wander down Insadong, a street rich with traditional markets, souvenirs, and street food. Finally, visit Gwangjang Market, a bustling hub for sampling traditional Korean food.
**10 Apr-Day 4: Explore the Ancient Wonders of Gyeongju** Travel to Gyeongju to discover Korea’s historical treasures. Start at the Gyeongju National Museum, housing artifacts from the Silla Dynasty. Explore Tumuli Park, known for its ancient tombs and burial mounds. Visit Cheomseongdae Observatory, Asia’s oldest surviving astronomical observatory, and stroll through Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond, both significant sites from the Silla Era.
**11 Apr-Day 5: Further Sightseeing in Gyeongju and Travel to Busan** Continue exploring Gyeongju with visits to Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Bulguksa Temple is one of South Korea’s most important Buddhist temples, while Seokguram Grotto offers incredible Buddhist art and architecture. Arrive in Busan and visit Gukje Market, the largest seafood market in South Korea, where you can explore vibrant stalls and sample fresh seafood.
**12 Apr-Day 6: Explore Busan** Start the day at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, a stunning cliffside Buddhist temple overlooking the ocean. Visit Haeundae Beach and enjoy the views of the APEC House. Walk along Songdo Skywalk for breathtaking panoramic views of the city and nearby islands. Finally, explore Gamcheon Culture Village, a colorful village with winding alleyways and bright buildings.
**13 Apr-Day 7: Travel from Busan to Seoul** After breakfast, enjoy some free time in Busan before boarding the train back to Seoul. A farewell dinner will be arranged in the evening.
**14 Apr-Day 8: Farewell to Seoul** You will make your way back to the airport for your flight home.
The price of the above tour is £1999.00 for all bookings made by 1st July 2025 The price does not include flights from the UK. We will give the go ahead to book flights once we have a minimum of 5 people booked. A non refundable deposit of £250.00 via bank transfer will secure you a place on the trip.

London Society WALK - Holland Park
Have you ever wanted to be immersed within either the city or nature in the form of a walk and socialise at the same time? If so, this may be the right walk for you.
Welcome to another one of the WALK events where you have the opportunity to explore all the scenic routes I’ll execute whether there’s nature within, whether we get immersed within the city and feel great about yourself.
With this particular walk, we will be walking through the entirety of Holland Park. What was once rural Kensington has become a beautiful local landmark which has not only survived WW2 but also offers the beautiful elements of nature including a Kyoto Garden.
After this walk, we’ll be heading to Badiani’s for some Italian gelato if you wish. Badiani’s is an Italian business specialised in gelato and any other delicacies. They began since 1932 and arrived in the Uk since 2016. If you were to look at their treats, you could say it feels like ‘Charlie and the chocolate factory’. Archery, Axe Throwing And Air Rifle Shooting! (4 X SPOTS LEFT)
A chance to cross a few things off your bucket list in one day as we are looking to do Archery, Axe Throwing and Air Rifle Shooting all in one day! We will have 1 hour on each activity and be in a 2 groups of 10.
After looking to just do all of these activities seperately, it made sense to do all of them in one fun day!
**1\. Archery**
The satisfying swoosh of your arrow speeding through the air and landing snugly in the target – there’s nothing else like it!
All the instructors are absolute pros, so whether you’re trying it for the first time, or want to take your archery skills to the next level – they have got you covered.
Our archery den is totally undercover, so you can get shooting rain or shine. With state-of-the art bows, multiple booths and expert training, archery days out don’t get much better than this.
**2\. Axe Throwing\!**
Viking warriors were thought to be one of the first tribes to throw axes and now its your turn! Nothing is more satisfying than hearing the thud as your axe lands perfectly into the target – there’s nothing else like it!
Our axe throwing range is totally undercover, so you can get throwing rain or shine. With multiple lanes and expert advice, this activity can't be more fun whether you are with a group of friends.
**3\. Air Rifle Shooting**
Get your camo gear on (not compulsory), and get ready for some rifle shooting training. Our guns are top of the range, and we can adjust the distance of our targets to give you the ideal challenge. See if you’ve got what it takes to perfect your aim and make your mark on distant targets.
Go head-to-head, add a new skill to your arsenal, rifle shooting is the adrenaline-filled pursuit of choice!

ℹ️ Greenwich Park is said to be the most historic of all London’s Royal Parks.
The National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and Queen's House are situated in its grounds.
The park was originally owned by the Abbey of St. Peter at Ghent. In 1427 its ownership reverted to the crown, and Henry VI gave the park to his uncle, the Duke of Gloucester.
With a stunning view of Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, and a rich history within its 183 acres, there is plenty to explore within Greenwich Park.

Join GO London Hiking for a beautiful urban walk through historic waterways and leafy neighborhoods, tracing **Regent’s Canal** from **Paddington Basin** to the vibrant heart of **Camden**. Starting at **Paddington Station**, we’ll escape the city’s bustle and follow the tranquil canal past the houseboats of **Little Venice**, where narrowboats drift like floating cottages.
We continue east onto the **Regent’s Canal**, opened in 1820 and once a key route for coal and timber during London’s industrial boom. Along the way, we pass architectural landmarks like the grand **Crocker’s Folly**, and walk over the **Maida Hill Tunnel**, the canal’s second-longest.
Admire quirky sights like the **Upside Down House**, the elegant villas of **Regent’s Park**, and climb **Primrose Hill** for stunning panoramic views. 🤸♂️ A fusion of mindful hiking and full‑body functional training that turns the outdoors into your gym. We use the landscape itself as part of the workout: inclines for power, open spaces for strength circuits, scenic pauses for core work, and natural intervals that keep the body guessing!
This isn’t just a hike, and it’s not just a workout. It’s a rhythm: walk, breathe, train, recover, repeat. Surrounded by fresh air, greenery, and a group energy that makes you push a little harder than you would alone!

Across the first 10km of the hike, we complete 11 different exercises, each totalling 101 reps, broken into small sets at natural pauses along the route (like 20 + 20 + 20 + 20 + 21).

Sunday at Highbanks Metro Park
We will meet next to the restrooms at the [Big Meadows Picnic Area](https://www.metroparks.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/HBK_Web_1980.png). We'll hike about 5 miles at [Highbanks Metro Park](https://www.metroparks.net/parks-and-trails/highbanks/) on the Dripping Rock and Overlook Trails. Afterward, we'll head over to [Olentangy River Brewing](https://www.olentangybrew.com/) for drinks, coffee, or food (their Sunday [food truck](https://www.olentangybrew.com/eventsandfood) is Venezuelan and always gets good reviews).

If you can't make the hike, we should be there by noon.
**How to find our starting point in Big Meadows:**
If you are new to Highbanks, the Big Meadows picnic area is 1.5 miles into the park just after you turn into the park off of U.S. Route 23. That is, after you enter the park, drive a mile and a half into the park. You will come to a crosswalk with a yield sign in the middle of it (this is not to be confused with the first such crosswalk you come to just in front of the Nature Center, which you arrive at maybe a quarter of a mile into the park).
Just after this second crosswalk, make a left. Then make another almost immediate left into the parking lot on your left. There you will see the jungle gym and the kiddie zip line to your left. I will be just in front of the restrooms just a bit further down from the jungle gym and picnic shelter; the restroom building will also be on your left.
