Hi everybody a very warm welcome to my social at the beautiful hotel bar it has low lighting quiet so we can talk and really connect seats outside gorgeous surroundings reasonably priced drinks for a central London hotel bar. We'll have a table booked. I only aim for 20 or 30 guests maximum so its more personal intimate and less noisy and ensures you can connect with more of the group and feel welcome. Come for a lovely health and socialising walk from Richmond to Kingston along the beautiful river Thames. The walk should take around 1.5 - 2 hours to complete and we will be ending with a visit to the Bishop pub on the Kingston riverside. There will be a £2 membership fee paid on the day. This is to cover the ever rising cost of hosting on meetup . Please bring guests! Remember to wear appropriate footwear and clothes and if necessary bring some water or a snack. About Our Backgammon Group Our group started in June 2015 - that’s over 10 years ago! Since then, we’ve held around 500 official backgammon meetups and around 250 off-grid gatherings besides. With almost 2,500 members, we’re the largest backgammon group in the UK. What makes our group special is the warmth, humour, and friendliness everyone brings to the board. We typically meet fortnightly on Sundays, with usually 15 - 25 regular players and new faces each time. Everyone’s welcome. The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~20 per person. Soft drink refills are 1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group! The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play. Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes. We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind.
