Board Games in Finsbury Park š²āļøšŗ
**Whether youāre brand new to board games or just looking for a cosy way to meet people, this night is designed with you in mind.**
We run our board game night twice a month, always in the same venue, and with the same familiar hosts. Our aim is simple: create the kind of event you enjoy so much that you want to come back - and maybe make a few new friends along the way.
**Please use the link below to purchase tickets for this event.**
[https://dplsk.eventcube.io/events/95332/board-games-at-finsbury-park/](https://dplsk.eventcube.io/events/95332/board-games-at-finsbury-park/)
**ā What Makes This Event Special ā**
**The Venue:** Blighty is cosy, colourful, and just a little bit quirky ā like the living room of your eccentric aunt. Itās worlds away from the noise, crowds, and sticky tables of pubs and bars.
**The Games:** We currently own over 50 games, including favourites like Articulate, Codenames, and Secret Hitler. Every game is handāpicked for maximum fun and easy learning.
**Blood on the Clocktower:** We often run Blood on the Clocktower as a special feature of the night. Itās completely optional, always beginnerāfriendly, and a brilliant way to meet people through laughter, bluffing, and bold accusations.
**The Hosts:** They are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet on Meetup. It doesnāt matter if it is your 1st time or 100th time coming to the board game night, they will always make you feel welcome.
**Who This Event Is For**
This night is perfect for people who are new to board games or just want something light, social, and easy going.
* You donāt need to know any games beforehand.
* Youāre welcome to come alone or with a friend - either is completely fine.
This is not a hardcore gaming night. You wonāt find Dungeons & Dragons or Magic: The Gathering here.
**Price ā Ā£5 per person**
Your contribution helps us keep the event fresh and fun:
* We buy new games every month to expand and update our collection.
* Any games we no longer need are donated back to the community through regular giveaways.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.

Capital Ring Part 13 - Stoke Newington to Hackney Wick
We will be walking section 13 out of 15 of the Capital Ring walk. Starting from Stoke Newington station, we will walk through Springfield park and alongside the river Lea, before finishing at Hackney Wick train station. This section of the capital ring is one of the shorter sections and fairly level, we will be walking for approximately one and three quarter hours with a break in between. It can get muddy so bring suitable footwear and clothing if it looks like rain or has been raining.
I'll keep a watch on the forecast and will cancel the event a day or two before if the weather is looking bad, so keep an eye on the event chat which I'll update a day or two before to confirm we are going ahead.
We will meet just outside Stoke Newington station at 10:45. Unless there is a transport issue affecting everyone, we will aim to start off on the walk at 11am. I will add my location tracking on Glympse so if you are late, we will not wait but you will be able to catch us up.
After the walk at Hackney Wick I am planning on heading to a local pub, the Lord Napier Star, for a drink and a bite to eat. The last time I came here they did a good Sunday Roast, if you are up for coming along please indicate in the comments. I'm estimating we would reach the end of the walk at Hackney Wick for about 12:30pm.

COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above.
There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change.
The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/).
Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers.
For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
