SOLD OUT • TEiP DEEP: A small group, deep dive into a single Thought Experiment
A **smaller, quieter, and less rushed** edition of THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS. At TEiP DEEP, we have the chance to spend a whole hour and a half on **one thought experiment**, exploring different perspectives, coming up with new questions, listening and learning from one another. **How it works:** \- We split into small groups for each chapter of the thought experiment \(3\-4\)\. \- We shuffle every 25 mins to meet new people and change things up\. \- And at the end we'll have a brief group reflection\, sharing ideas and insights \- this will be lightly facilitated to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak if they want to \(no pressure\)\. Some simple ground rules to keep our conversation the best it can be: * respect for one another’s perspectives, beliefs, time (etc.) * confidentiality of personal stories * own your perspective * you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. Our aim is the same as our bigger Thought Experiments in Pubs meetups: **a chance to meet and talk at about meaningful, thought provoking things**. Although we’ll be going a bit ‘deeper’, we’ll keep the intention to have an enjoyable evening, with good humour and fun. Places are limited to 15-20 people and tickets are £5. The next Street Hypnosis Group meetup will be Saturday 21st January We meet at The Royal Festival Hall at the Southbank Centre. We'll be on the 5th floor, in the 'seventy5th bar' (Blue zone). If you haven't been before or you need help finding us call this number 07742 542101. Call that number when you arrive at the information desk on the ground floor, just in case we've moved to a different area of the building or outside. Learn something, share something. Practice in safety and gain confidence. We cover all aspects of street, stage and party hypnosis. Have an idea of the suggestibility tests or something else you want to practice, as well as some Rapid Inductions. Also, think of a short 5 -10 minute 'routine' to use with people. All levels are welcome so don't be shy. We ask for a small fee of £5 on the day, this is purely to help pay our meetup fees. We could go for a coffee or beer afterwards, and get some practice in public situations. It's all good for confidence building. Our 'sister' group is the London Hypnosis Hub. That group is aimed more at general hypnosis and meets on the first Tuesday of every month. Feel free to join that as well if you haven't already done so. Join us for our chilled Sunday afternoon Meetup, for connection and sanctuary amongst others who get you. We don't have a theme for this Meetup but please bring any topics you'd like to discuss and we'll also have the conversation cards with us. We'll meet at the Southbank Balcony Bar on the 5th Floor of Royal Festival Hall. The easiest way to find us is to enter through the main entrance and take the lift to the fifth floor - we'll try to sit at that end on a big table & will have a Meetup sign on display. We'll also comment on the day. There is an entrance to Royal Festival Hall that is quite close to the Nelson Mandela (INFJ) statue and there is also an entrance to the ground floor around the corner. Lifts are at either end of the building. You can buy either alcoholic or soft drinks, or tea/coffee at the bar. This venue is usually quieter than Picturehouse and there appears to be no concerts that day. Please note you don't have to be well-versed on Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to attend; we are merely looking to build a community of like-minded people for fun, support and connection. There are always some people who don't come on the day, so if you're top of the waitlist, it's very likely you'll be bumped up, so please come anyway and equally if you would really like to come, please do. We're not going to turn you away! If there's a lot of attendees, we'll split into 2 groups.

**EXPOSING THE CLASSICS 📸🩰** *(with a particular focus on Strobe Lighting!)* DPL is happy to bring back our Exposing the Classics workshop, with a particular focus this time on working with strobe lighting–Saturday 21 February at The Camera Club in South London! Take a look at some of the images we managed to capture last time. Using slightly different techniques we will: ◼️ Explore iconic choreographic moments from the classical repertoire. ◼️ With one dancer and one lens, recreate the imagery of a corps de ballet. ◼️ Learn the photographic techniques behind long exposure and layering. This whorkshop will be led by Michelle Buckley (professional dancer & co-founder/director of DPL) and Nick Gregan (professional photographer & author). This group is for anyone who wants to explore Buddhist meditation in a relaxed and supportive setting. Each session includes a short meditation, a simple teaching from Buddhist psychology, and an open discussion about how these ideas show up in everyday life. While our foundation is Buddhist practice, we love weaving in wisdom from other traditions whenever it helps us grow, find peace, and support each other. Members of our community come from many different backgrounds, and you do not need to consider yourself a Buddhist to attend. All are welcome. The session runs from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., with doors open from 6:30 to 9:00. Come early or stay after if you’d like to enjoy some quiet reflection or casual conversation with the community. On the first Wednesday of each month, we share a potluck meal. Bring a dish if you’d like, but the most important thing you can bring is yourself. We look forward to seeing you!

Book Club, which focuses on native plants, sponsored by Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and LCPL. At this meeting we’ll discuss the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver. Both memoir and journalistic investigation, this book explores how the Kingsolver family took on a new challenge: to spend a year on a locally -produced diet, paying close attention to the provenance of all they consume. Concerned about the environmental, social, and physical costs of American food culture, they hoped to recover what Kingsolver considers our nation’’s lost appreciation for farms and the natural processes of food production.
