CRAP Talks #32 - You Meta Believe It
CRAP Talks #32 - You Meta Believe It
For the second event of the year I'm excited to be hosting at the Meta Offices. We'll have 2 speakers and a fireside chat again. Details below with more to come closer to the time. **PLEASE NOTE:** Guests will HAVE TO SIGN UP to the event with first name and last name to be allowed into the building. If you're bringing someone with you, they'll need to register for the event as well. Registration will close 24 hours before the event. If you've not been to one of our events before then here is what you can expect. CRAP (Conversion Rate Optimisation, Analytics, Product) Talks is a cross-discipline event. We don't work in silos so why network and learn in silos. In the past we've had speakers from Data, Analytics, CRO, Product, Marketing, Data Science, Design and Research and so many more. If you work in tech, chances are you work cross-functionally, so come along and meet people doing amazing things in tech. **Hosts:** Meta **Venue:** Meta Brock, 10 Brock St, London NW1 3FG **Date:** 17/03/2026 6pm doors open Talks kick off at 630 Wrap up approximately 9:00pm. **Speakers:** * **Speaker Name:** [Tom Collingburn](https://www.linkedin.com/in/tom-collingburn-7b7b5a16a/) \| [Tom Milne](https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomas-milne-3422482b/) * **Title:** Senior Data Analyst \| Head of Experience Insights * **Talk Name:** The Measurement Dilemma: ITV's Long Term Holdout Group * **Talk Summary:** ITVX reaches more than 15 million viewers each month across web, mobile and 16 different TV applications. Our Product & Tech teams are rapidly expanding and updating the viewer experience to meet the challenges of an extremely competitive entertainment marketplace. But how do we know the cumulative impact of these Product changes is positive, in a content-driven business that is hugely influenced by competition and seasonality? In this talk we’ll show how we adopted a Long Term Holdout Group to answer this critical business question. We’ll share the technical successes, the inevitable hurdles, and the hard-won learnings we gathered along the way. * **Speaker Name:** [Igor (Iggy) Skokan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/igorskokan/) * **Title:** Director, Marketing Science, Meta * **Talk Title:** Measure What Matters with Incrementality * **Talk Summary:** Shifting consumer behaviors and the rise of formats with limited click opportunities like video have made the attribution models most advertisers rely on less effective. To capture a fuller picture of performance, advertisers must build a trusted suite of tools and methods to get closer to measuring incrementality, i.e., the true, additive value of their campaigns. This session covers how to build a practical measurement stack to estimate incrementality - the true impact of campaigns.. **Fireside Chat hosted by Parveen Downer:** * **Guest in the hot seat:** [Manasi Goel](https://www.linkedin.com/in/manasi-goel-9aba52a1/) * **Title:** Head of People & Culture at EE * **Talk Title:** Stop the Slop: Building a Real AI Builder Culture * **Talk Summary:** Most organisations are currently caught in the "AI Slop" trap: generating pages of meaningless text , chasing "10x productivity" myths , and seeing zero actual return on investment. But for product teams in mature, complex organisations (or most organisations for that matter), the real opportunity isn't about doing more work—it’s about doing better work. Join us for a candid, hype-free conversation on what it actually takes to integrate AI into the heart of a "legacy" organisation. We’re moving past the scaremongering and the "human-in-the-loop" clichés to explore how teams can "slow down to speed up". Forget the tech-bro manifestos. This is a session for those who want to build a career that is inspired, hopeful, and—most importantly—slop-free.
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 133 / Ran
All Out of Bubblegum Film Club 133 / Ran
Ran (Japanese: 乱; lit. 'chaos or tumult') is a 1985 epic historical action drama film directed, co-written, and edited by Akira Kurosawa. The plot derives from William Shakespeare's King Lear and includes segments based on legends of the daimyō Mōri Motonari. The film stars Tatsuya Nakadai as Hidetora Ichimonji, an aging Sengoku-period warlord who decides to abdicate as ruler in favor of his three sons. As Kurosawa's last epic, Ran has often been cited as among his finest achievements and is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made. Please note we will not be showing the film at the meeting. Make sure you watch the film before you attend and then come and join in with the conversation. It’s just a discussion. It’s not a screening. 🙏 We will be meeting in The Ludski Bar in the Rio Cinema. Psychotherapists’ Peer Supervision & Support Circle – South East London
Psychotherapists’ Peer Supervision & Support Circle – South East London
This group is for qualified and trainee therapists in Dulwich and the wider South East London area who don’t want to do this work in isolation. Once a month, we meet locally for a facilitated peer supervision session that offers both professional thinking space and genuine emotional support. Each meeting includes: * A brief check‑in to arrive as humans first, therapists second * Space for 1–2 structured case consultations (with clear questions and boundaries) * Time to explore themes like clinical stuckness, countertransference, burnout, private practice challenges, ethics and self‑doubt * Mutual support around the emotional impact of the work, not just “technique talk” This is **peer** supervision: there is no “expert” in the room, and we share responsibility for holding a thoughtful, non‑hierarchical space. The ethos is reflective rather than performative – you don’t need polished cases or “success stories”, just your real clinical dilemmas and your real self. The group may be especially nourishing if you: * Work largely on your own in South East London (private practice, online work, small organisations) * Crave honest, shame‑reducing conversations about the realities of therapy * Value relational depth, curiosity and good boundaries Confidentiality is taken seriously: all clinical material is anonymised, and what’s shared in the room stays in the room. This group is an additional layer of support alongside your formal supervision, not a replacement. Come as you are – overwhelmed, inspired, stuck, or simply wanting to connect with other therapists in Dulwich and South East London who “get it.”

An insider showbiz and entertainment walk led by someone who’s lived inside the industry - a radio music founder, presentator and club DJ, a former Correspondent for a global News Agency bigger than the BBC, an advertising / media agency exe, a red-carpet luxury fashion brand strategist and a failed boy band muscian (I still got the spiked hair!). You’ll hear where the UK’s biggest radio stations broke chart‑toppers annd turned unknowns into global popstars, where stars of the film and stage made their name, how certain streets shaped entire genres, how comedians went from dingy basements to national treasures, and why London’s music scene has always been the city’s loudest, messiest, most influential creative engine in the world This free tour will unapologetically appeal to: * **Pop‑culture lovers** who treat celebrity interviews and album drops like sacred texts * **Creatives & media people** who love a bit of insider sparkle and know the difference between a PR stunt and a genuine cultural moment * **Culture lovers** who collect fun facts from music, film, art and can name their favourite live performance of all time * **People working in or consuming** **films, theatre, radio, music, comedy, TV, dance, media, advertising**, **performing arts** and everything in between * Anyone craving something different yet authentic, fun with just the right amount of chaos Expect a crowd that gets excited about the things normal people pretend not to care about — iconic ad campaigns, legendary performances, scandalous headlines, radio gossip, film magic, music history, and the beautiful mess of how culture actually gets made. Disc Tues / Choose Your Movie: TOW vs THEY WILL KILL YOU at the Gateway!
Join us as we get together for a Discount Tuesday / Choose Your Movie event to see your choice of the top-reviewed indie drama TOW or the action-comedy-horror THEY WILL KILL YOU! A winner either way! Here are details, trailer and plan for this event: TOW: This drama follows a homeless Seattle woman who fights her way out of tow-company hell to reclaim her life and the car that held it all together after receiving a tow bill for $21,634. The film is directed by Stephanie Laing and stars Rose Byrne, Dominic Sessa, Demi Lovato, Ariana DeBose, Octavia Spencer, Simon Rex, Elsie Fisher and Corbin Bernsen. Tow premiered to rave reviews at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival where critics declared, “Tow is a winner” and called the film “a story of perseverance, heart, and real fight, the kind of small human story we see less frequently these days, but need now more than ever!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kiUtqgeDVI8 THEY WILL KILL YOU: A woman takes a job as a housekeeper in a NYC high-rise, unaware of the building's history of disappearances. She soon realizes the community is shrouded in mystery. The film is directed by Kirill Sokolov and Zadie Beetz, Myha'la, Paterson Joseph, Tom Felton, Heather Graham, and Patricia Arquette. The film is being released immediately following its premiere at this year’s SXSW Festival earlier this month. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYqQPiXpi4w PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing of both films and will meet in the upstairs lobby area about 30 minutes before showtime! Complete details will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer. PARKING: Close, convenient parking is available in the nearby garage (located between 9th and 11th, just off High St). Bring your ticket with you and have it validated at the theater and for $2, you’re covered for the night! Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
